Diner Reviews
  • "We were visiting our son from out of town. Looking for a nice place that took reservations. Salmon was old. Scallops and mussels were not well prepared. Sauce on pasta was not very good. Very expensive for a below average meal. My family is a bunch of foodies and enjoy good restaurants. We have no problem spending on a good meal, but for the price we would have expected much better. Many much better restaurants in Bloomington. I would recommend passing on this establishment. Waitstaff did a good job but the kitchen dropped the ball."

  • "Poor service, poor ambiance. I would not go there again."

  • "I had enjoyed Grazie's Bruschetta recently at a benefit, so after living in this town for 19 years, I decided to make a reservation for my family. We had a 6:15 reservation, and did not receive our food until 7:10, despite the fact that there were tables free around us. Soon after we arrived, my husband was hit by flying food caused by a collision between wait staff and a customer coming down a ramp from the restroom. This unsafe situation continued throughout our meal. Our table was placed in such a way that we were continually ducking or having our chair hit by those serving food. The food itself: pork and pasta penablia fine, the manicotti overwhelming with unseasoned ricotta. Bloomington has some fabulous restaurants. This isn't one."

  • "Great dining experience and consistently great quality of food! Fun place for a group!"

  • "The food was good. I ordered a Filet Medium Rare. The outside was burnt. To the point that is tasted charred. The inside was cooked perfect and was tender. The mashed potatoes were very chunky and could have used some more mashing. The broccoli was under cooked and unremarkable. My daughter had the herb crusted lamb. Again, good but not great. For the prices charged I expected it to be "wow". In addition, we were freezing. I asked the waiter about having the temp turned down. He said he'd ask- we never heard any more about it. Don't think I'd go back- especially with all of the choices in Bloomington."

  • "Dinner with family was wonderful. Food was great, service friendly, great location. Consistently good."

  • "Had a wonderful Saturday lunch at Grazie! that we enjoyed very much. Great personable service from capable staff. We had an entre salad and egg plant sandwich both of good portion size and fresh/tasty. Sodas were included. We split a dessert and enjoyed the meal very much. It was surprisingly reasonable for such high quality. We will return."

  • "We were seated immediately with our open table reservation. Our water was brought out quickly. After the waitress took our order we waited 15-20 minutes before we got any bread. We finally got some after asking about it. The bread was good and the herbs with oil was also good. I don't know if it was where we were sitting but it was very cold. We were freezing. It was at least 45 minutes from the time we ordered until we received our food. One dish was very good, one was just ok and the third dish was very bland. The waitress did comp half the third entree. The restaurant was very busy so maybe they were not prepared and it was unusual for them to be so slow. Not sure because we were from out of town."

  • "Haven't been to Grazie since they rolled out a new menu and it was AWESOME. My server was great, attentive without being over bearing. It was somewhat busy but food came out in a super reasonable time. Overall great time. Highly Recommend"

  • "Food was average, selections unusual and prices high; ex:no traditional spaghetti or pasta dishes offered. The restaurant is very noisy. We would go there for pizza in the future but not for a nice dinner. Their prices are a bit much . We often select an Etude Pinot Noir from Napa; it typically sells for $68-80 in every restaurant we have ever ordered it, including one week ago at Eddie Merlot's. At Grazie it was $100! The entree selections were a la carte and averaged in the mid to high $20's. Again...go for pizza"

  • "The wine selection, while acceptable, seemed a bit on the high side compared with other restaurants of the same quality level. Example: Estancia Pinot Noir was priced at $50. Can be purchased at retail for $16. I know there will always be a markup, but this seemed a bit much. Otherwise....a decent outing."

  • "We chose Grazie! on Sunday night because of the half-price wine by the bottle offer; six of us enjoyed three bottles! The kale salad with grilled salmon is a wonderful new addition to the menu. It's just the right amount of food, filling and extremely tasty. One of our group recommended it and four of us ordered it! I would go back this week to get it again, it was so good. My husband enjoyed the pork entrée, and one of the other men polished off an entire plate of spaghetti and meatballs. Some of us had the tomato Florentine soup, which was a bit thin on the Florentine but delicious. Others had mushroom brie soup, which was not thick and gooey, which the diners said they liked. A friendly, efficient waitress brought extra bread when asked."

  • "I saw mixed reviews about gratzi but when I looked closer, most of the negative comments were on Valentine's Day! So luckily I took them with a grain of salt and tried this restaurant. Additionally, most reviews said great for groups and it was just my son and me so I was a bit hesitant. I was originally drawn to it because Ann Arbor, MI has a restaurant by the same name but found out they were not related. Well, it was a great experience. We were seated right away. The waitress was prompt and attentive. The food came out piping hot and at a reasonable amount of time. The eggplant Parm was excellent! My son had spagetti and meatballs, there were four huge meatballs and he said they were fabulous."

  • "Everything we had was very good as was the service even though they had gotten extremely busy before we left."

  • "The service was wonderful! Unfortunately, the food is horrible. I ordered penned vodka but received penne bolognse and it tasted like bbq pasta. Not good! A friend had truffle gnocchi and there was at least 1.5" of standing oil in her bowl. Very disappointing!!"

  • "Noise level was too Loud. 4 people for dinner only 2 dinner menus were available.. We Had to ask for bread. We ordered the soup which was good but only a very small amount; custard cup serving in a large bowl. Our dinner food was warm not hot.. The sauce on the pasta was rationed. Would not go back again!"

  • "Great place to go with a large group of people - they have something for everybody. Food is good, atmosphere is lively, and service is accommodating."

  • "I went here on Valentine's Day for the first time, and was not very impressed. My girlfriend and I both got ravioli which was over $20 each for a very small portion size. Some of the other dishes for the same price looked a good amount larger which made me upset with their pricing. I spent over $70 between that and two salads, but we both left hungry. The food itself was good, but in my opinion not worth the price. A random side note is that the music selection in the restaurant was so bad it was comical. This included several old songs about heart break...on Valentine's Day."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "We had a great Valentines Day dinner. I know that the snowy weather was an issue for late reservation folks...so we had to wait a little longer but that's ok. Our food was pretty good. My girlfriend's spaghetti was a little hard on top, like it was sitting under a heat lamp for a while, but, it was kind of warm under that part, so she just mixed it together as we are not the type of folks to complain/return food. Otherwise, we had a goodnight."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "The food was great as usual. Since I made a reservation I assumed we would have a nice table but were seated upstairs where the tables were a tight fit! I don't like being that close to the people next to me. Kind of ruined the romantic feel we were hoping for."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "Surprised my girlfriend with a romantic dinner and flowers at Grazie! The food was excellent and we loved the place. Neither of us hadever been before, and despite the pricey nature, I'm sure we'll be back!"

  • "With a very large group we were placed in the group portion of the restaurant. Service sometimes felt swamped as the section was quite full. Our meals ranged from good to great. I would definitely recommend."

  • "This is one of my favorite places to go for dinner near Indiana University. We go every time we are there for a few days visiting. Wonderful food. I brought my Italian mother and she is very particular about Italian food and she loved it. My daughter's sorority had an outing there as well and we enjoyed the large area in the back for a big group. Highly recommended"

  • "I ordered the filet mignon and it was delicious and cooked well! Maybe there was just a little too much salt on it, but I didn't mind since I'm not Robert Irvine. The potatoes and asparagus were both delicious as well! My girlfriend had the wild mushroom tortellini and she loved it! I actually was allowed to eat the rest only because she was filled up and I thought it was delicious, too! Service was great and would certainly recommend this restaurant. Only caution here is it will get pricey, so if you aren't looking to shell out a lot on a regular basis, save this place for special occasions or for trying something new."

  • "The food at Grazie! is quite good, certainly worth the effort. Unfortunately, the noise from the Bar was so loud that I could barely hear the conversation at my table. I've eaten here several times over the years, and it seems to have evolved from a very good restaurant to a restaurant/bar to a bar/restaurant. The food is still very good, but the bar scene has apparently become the focal point of Grazie! - probably not surprising given that it is in a college town."

  • "Dined at Grazie as a member of an 8-person group. The restaurant was accommodating to a group our size. Menu had a nice variety of items. Food was good but a bit on the pricey side for what it was."
    Dined on 1/24/2014
  • "While the food and service was very good it was not exceptional but was very pricy-27$ for tortellini pasta with no salad."
    Dined on 1/18/2014
  • "When we arrived there was one person serving as a host and waiter. We had to wait, along with another couple to be seated (the restaurant was practically empty). We had the spinach & artichoke dip (YUM!), lasagna (ok), and Alfredo (The noodles didn't taste done and the sauce was extremely bland.). We had decided to try this restaurant out after positive feedback from friends, but sad to say we will not be returning. We spent $50 and I feel Fazoli's food would have been better for around $20. I will not be recommending this restaurant to friends/family."

  • "We had a few problems this time at Grazie which is unusual....the caprese appetizer wasn't as good as usual and the bar wasn't able to make the mojito. But the rest of the food was great and the artichoke appetizer is wonderful!"

  • "Had family in from out of town, but did not want to cook the night before Thanksgiving. Had the opportunity to pick ONE fabulous Bloomington restaurant with them, and chose Grazie. We were NOT disappointed! EVERYONE raved about their food and beverages, and our server was wonderful and on the ball! So happy that we chose Grazie and got a chance to expose the family to local fare!"

  • "The service was outstanding at Grazie! Our waiter was the wine bar server as well and brought several wines for me to accompany my Pasta dish. The food was good but the service outstanding. Great place for a college town."

  • "I had high expectations and unfortunately they were not met. I thought the quality of the food was average at best. Service was good. There was noting memorable about the quality of food, unfortunately."

  • "Great service, great atmosphere. The food was good, but nothing I would rave about to my friends. Overall, the only real disappointment was the price. I wasn't a huge fan of paying $25 for a meal when I could have gotten something very comparable at Noodles & Co for under $10. I wouldn't completely count this place out, but only go if you're looking to drop an unnecessary amount of money."

  • "Excellent food, especially for occasions getting away from the more casual restaurants that populate downtown Bloomington."

  • "I went to Grazie expecting great things. I had heard from numerous people the food was great and the enviroment was amazing. However when I went in the enviroment was very hard to pin-point. For a resturant that tries to be classic Italian it felt too laid back. And then there was the food. Luckily my date enjoyed her meal and her drink. However when my meal came out even the waitress commented on how sad it looked! I ordered the pan roasted chicken without the mushrooms and what I received looks like something someone took out of a frozen dinner and plopped it on a plate. This could be a one time thing, I am not sure, but I am not going back to find out anytime soon."

  • "This is one of our favorite local restaurants! The artichoke appetizer is just fantastic! Loved all our food!"

  • "Booked a table for two at 8:00pm. Seated right away. Place was busy but not packed. We ordered bruschetta as an appetizer. Caesar salads. Ravioli and wild mushroom parpardelle. Major problem aa that the food essentially all came at once. Had all three courses in front of us. Salad greens were limp. Parpardelle was cold and undercooked. We believe this is an anomaly. Server was asking if we wanted the check 35 minutes into the meal. We will try again because previous experiences have been excellent. Must have been an off night all around."
