Service was a bit slow this last time and we both ordered specials so don;t know what to think about that. The only criticism I have is regarding the coffee. It was old tasting and required a lot of cream to lighten. On another visit I ordered espresso and received what looked like a thimbleful of espressso. When I complained, the waiter told me to next time order a double. Be sure to try the Bada Bing pasta, which they make right by your table, as an appetizer for your whole group -- if you're three or more. It's delicious, made in a wheel of parmesan that they bring right to you. A little rich as the primary course, but great as an appetizer. We always feel treated well there, as if they are eager to accommodate our tastes. Wonderful house salad. Tasty soup. I love having a meatball and sausage with their red sauce over whole wheat pasta. Or their fish, always fresh -- and with a great garlic tomato sauce. Consistently a tasty meal, and a nice ambiance. Occasionally a little noisy. Gratzzi is as good as the best restaurant's in NY's Little Italy! From start to finish, the dining experience was superb. We were celebrating my mother's 92nd birthday and my aunt's 90th birthday and the staff was appropriately attentive, the food was excellent (don't miss the mushrooms stuffed with crab meat and covered with melted parmesan cheese) and the wine list was substantial and very reasonably prices. The house-made pasta was excellent. Three of us had a delicious pasta entree which had tiny baskets of delicate pasta filled with house-made ricotta cheese, large scallops, crabmeat and a very light cream sauce.
