  • "A lot's changed since we last visited Ann Arbor - new buildings, much more Art Fair, and the food scene. Once a place for pizza, traditional upscale dining, and vegetarian haunts, A2 is developing into quite a destination for those who like delicious and beautifully presented foods. We were drawn to Gratzi by its reviews and interesting menu, pleased that most dishes can be prepared gluten-free and that their scratch kitchen can do dairy free. Grilled & roasted vegis were perfect. My Pesce Del Mercato was extraordinarily well prepared fresh halibut, richly delicious (and prepared dairy free). My wife ate every bite of her gluten-free Polle e Pumate. Gratzi exceeded its high ratings on OpenTable and TripAdvisor. Highly recommended!"

  • "My husband and I choose to go to Gratzi to celebrate his birthday. From the moment we arrived until we left, the experience was incredible. We had fantastic service, our waiter, Jensen (Glen), was very attentive and knowledgeable. When picking out the wine, he sent Tom over to help us make a decision based on our entrée choices, the wine was incredible and complimented our meal. The food was simple outstanding! In our opinion, it was truly an amazing dining experience. From the appetizers, minestrone soup, salad, bread, main entrees and dessert. We will be back and will recommend this restaurant to our friends and family."

  • "Whenever I want to celebrate something in my life, I choose to go to Gratzi. I always treat myself to the same menu item...the ravioli con caprino (goat cheese ravioli with panchetta and shallots). Unfortunately, Gratzi recently moved my favorite entree to the appetizer's section and removed my beloved shallots and panchetta. I was horrified! Almost cried and wanted to leave the restaurant. I'm not the type of person who doesn't like to try new things, but my beloved!!! After the initial shock, I ended up ordering the Farfalle Con Gamberi (shrimp, bowtie pasta, red cream). Give Gratzi a round of applause. It was delicious. That meal reminded me that no matter what you get at Gratzi, it'll always be delicious."

  • "This was our first visit and we were positively impressed and found the food and dining experience highly enjoyable. Our waiter was exceedingly helpful briefly walking us through the electronic tablet menu. He took enough time for social interaction in a professional, non-obtrusive manner. He was attentive to our needs from the start of our dining experience until we departed -- no long waits yet he was not intrusive to our dinner. Recommend this restaurant to others. We will visit again if/when we are in Ann Arbor."

  • "We had lunch at Gratzi for my husband's birthday treat. The service was outstanding. I believe our waiter's name was Jensen--he was the best! Later a very elegant woman came by the table to check on our meal. Very solicitous of our comfort and interested in our evaluation of the restaurant. My salad with broiled salmon was perfect as were my husband's vegetable wrap and our friends' lunches. My husband asked to substitute eggplant and mushrooms for the zucchini in his vegetable wrap. No problem. Lovely food and gracious service!"

  • "We dined upstairs on a warm evening in July. I had on long sleeves and pants and was miserably cold, as were my 3 dining companions. We had a new waiter. He did not know how to work the electronic tablet menus. He served salad before the appetizer, one of the main courses was the wrong dish and so was one of the desserts. He was trying, but was not trained well enough to be on his own. We were comped the desserts. The food was very good and made from quality ingredients. Although we weren't as fond of the desserts. The cannoli was untraditional, stacked flat pastry rather than a tube. The creme brûlée was delicate, with not as much custard flavor or texture as typical."

  • "This great place during restaurant week has been consistently excellent over the years, but this time the 3 course meals of caprese salad, pollo Milanese/spaghetti with sausage and clams, and cannoli/sorbetti/gelati fell short with the first course. The caprese salad was a single slice of winter hot house tomato and minimal mozzarella served (and lost) on a dinner size plate. The remainder of the meal including glasses of prosecco were excellent. The restaurant did call after this criticism was made to explain that good tomatoes have just not come into season yet. Thank you (sort of)."

The menu is extensive as displayed on each diner's personal tablet computer. The service was onlyfair, surpising since only four other tables weren't occupied. Perhaps lunch doesn't show Grazzi to ist best advantage."

  • "We were running late from the Graduation Ceremony and they called to check with us...It was great. They didn't give away our table, they held it for us until we could get there. I had told them it was for my sons's graduation and since it was a special night they gave us this great corner booth. Very posh. Out little 6 year old was able to be a little silly and no one in the restaurant even knew he was there (He was not a noisy disruptive child...this place is too nice for that.) The food is always excellent and the staff are super friendly and chatty. We were some of the last people to leave that night but they did not rush us at all. Great place for a special dinner."

  • "We've dined at Gratzi many times over the years, but the quality of the food and service is declining. Because it was such a beautiful evening, we opted for patio seating. Our server, while pleasant, appeared to be inexperienced – or forgetful. It took several requests to get silverware and napkins. One of our appetizers was wrong; the other was served on crostini that appeared to have had better days. Bread plates were an afterthought – delivered well after the bread and appetizers were served. The entrees were unremarkable. And we experienced another delay in receiving our after-dinner coffee and drinks. Not one of our better evenings at Gratzi. "

Not bad food but for quality it is not up there with the best by any means. I would go there for happy hour and perhaps one appetizer. We sat inside for dinner and service was impeccable with Brandon our waiter. He made it a memorable evening. "

The waitstaff was most helpful finding vegetarian dishes for me and made excellent suggestions for menu options. Our dinner was especially delightful. It just seemed as if we were being rushed and it wasn't crowded. Our dinner took all of about 15 minutes after we placed our order. Then the bill came. "
