    Brunch is offered every Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 am until 3:00 pm. Enjoy a weekend brunch with family and friends and take part of “The Endless Brunch” at Grasing’s. Enjoy any brunch entrée plus unlimited mimosas for only $19.95 per person.

    Dinner is offered nightly, seven days a week, from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm.
    Our bar is open seven days a week from 11am until 9:30pm.

A word from Grasing's
Grasing’s, located in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea, lies along the Pacific Coast in Central California in Monterey County. It is 120 miles south of San Francisco, 70 miles south of San Jose and 350 miles north of Los Angeles.

Celebrity chef partners, Kurt Grasing and Narsai David, truly created a gem. We didn't see him until the plates were cleared. Any acknowledgement could have turned our experience around. Disappointed."

Our first experience there was in February for just drinks and appetizers. Gina was a great bartender and appetizers were killer. So, on our next trip back to Carmel, we did dinner. So glad we chose Grasing's. The swordfish was the best my wife has ever eaten. My lamb chops were superb and cooked like lamb should be. All in all, tha food, ambience and friendly service will do you well to choose Grasing's on your next trip to Carmel"

  • "Once more a very nice - and highly anticipated - dining experience was overshadowed by poor table placement. Reservation made a week in advance resulted in a table for two nestled between server's station, kitchen access and sentry-like busboy attention station. Although they moved us quickly and with apologies, as returning diners, a nicer table would have been appreciated...and yes there were others available. And high prices are fine for great food, but it doesn't mean a single plating has to be big enough for a party of two. I always feel bad returning half a plate to the dumpster because there simply wa too much to eat. Or at least advise the size of the platter."

  • "It started off great. Delicious crab cake appetizer. My main course was a scallop dish. It looked like someone threw the kitchen sink in the dish. Scallops were over cooked. We also had the duck dish which was ok. This is a chop house so maybe we should have stuck to beef. The dessert, bread pudding was just ok ad well. Hardly any apples or carmel in it. I don't mind paying a high price for good food but this was expensive and disappointing"

  • "Service and place were very good. However, we were very disappointed with the food. My wife order a paella and it was really bad. She could not eat it, and had stomach problems during the evening. I order the filet minon. Meat was very tender but sauce for the steak was not appropriate. It was a semi sweet sauce that do not match that piece of meat."

There are a few tables on a quiet courtyard in the back and a separate, nice bar with a TV for sports fans. The food was good. The service was a little awkward, but that was probably a fluke. It. Is a nice spot to land if you've been up and down Ocean Avenue and are ready to take a break at a locals' spot."

  • "It was just awful. Didn't have the wine we wanted. 2 of us ordered the lobster mac & cheese to be told they are not quite ready yet then to ask several times how long it would take "oh like 3 hours". Only one person got their salad, 2 of us got our main course followed immediately by our starter the other got her starter at the same time as the salad so we had 7 plates on the table at the same time. We got one piece of bread & no more offered. Spilled our wine on one of us and only offered a napkin to clean up. How about replacing the wine. Another server knocked over our entire wine bucket and spilled everything. Nothing offered to compensate for the mess."

Abalone is sustainably sourced in Monterey, (lightly breaded and sautéed) in shell and on bed of fresh artesian lettuce and Japanese cabbage dressed in very light extra virgin olive oil and white vinegar. Had before, always outstanding. Had the Catena Malbec wine by the glass - exquisite with hints of cinnamon. Dessert was a selection of cheeses, dried fruit, and honey infused with white truffle oil. Great dipping sauce for the aged Manchego. Dessert was complimented by 20 year Dow tawny port -- recommended by server over more expensive choices - thank him for introducing me to"

  • "My husband and I went to Grasings for my birthday dinner while we were in Carmel. Our server was Paula. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating! We shared the wedge salad which was terrific. The kitchen split it onto two plates and it certainly was a big enough salad for two! Bursting with blue cheese, bacon and onion flavors on crisp iceberg wedge. My husband had the Paella and it was filled with shrimp, sausage, mussels, clams and orzo in a not too spicy but fabulous sauce. Plenty for me to lean over the table and help myself to some! I had an artichoke (it is artichoke country) filled with a crab salad. Paula helped us choose the perfect wine and brought us a lovely dessert for my birthday. A wonderful evening."

  • "My husband and I have eaten at Grasings many times before. The room farthest from the entry (where we were sitting) has a door right in the middle leading to the outside patio. Having the door opened and closed constantly by the wait staff serving the outside diners was very disruptive to those of us inside and created a constant draft of cold air. Be sure to ask for a table as far away from the door as possible. Our waiter seemed unfocused. We were never told the specials and weren't aware there were any until we heard him reciting them to another table. It took 45 minutes just to get our salad. Once our entrees came the food was not up to par even though the chef was very visible in the dining room. Very disappointing evening overall."

  • "I always enjoy having brunch at Grasing's. We were greeted warmly by the owner and our wait person saw to every detail. We had the endless brunch with unlimited mimosas. We each had 3 mimosas and having watched the last 2 being poured I can say that they were probably 3/4 champagne. The garden omelet and the eggs benedict were perfect as were the potatoes. This is a place we will go back to many times."

  • "Thank you so much for the wonderful memories made for my Mothers 98 Birthday. The table and decorations were so sweet...not to mention the hand written note from Kurt. Her birthday wish made on her desert candle was to live to 99. No problem for this fabulous person, she still climbs on the roof, and takes care of her 5 plus acres of land. I have had lunch several times in the bar area, and the cheese sandwich is to die for. In fact I am planning on coming back in 10 days with several friends...Thank you again for being so attentive to every detail."
