Mother's Day ExperienceI took my daughter for dinner on her first mother's day here. The food was outstanding, they have an extensive wine list and a room with wines displayed. I am definitely going again. It is a hidden treasure in an unexpected place with Valet parking. That was a very nice surprise.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe meal started off wellThe meal started off well with the gnocchi and the mussels (although some of the mussels had a strong smell so we didn't eat those). The middle course was good caesar salad and a cold pea and cream soup. The main course was a little disappointing. We had the filet and the pork chop - both were a little tough. With a bill of 170, I would have expected better.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat menu and selection of wine...This was our fist time dining at Grapeseed and we were extremely happy with the experience. The arugula salad could have used a tiny bit more dressing but everything else was right on par especially the Fried Chicken Livers and the Korean BBQ tips - delicious and would recommend this restaurant to others.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I were celebratingMy husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary at Grapeseed. We had a wonderful time. We loved the food, the wine, and the atmosphere!4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThe best meal we have had in years. The best meal we have had in several years. Food is incredible, American fusion and very imaginative. Service was attentive and intelligent! Wine list is simply excellent, and with new MD law one can take one's unused wine home. A real find, now our favorite restaurant for special occasions.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMPricey but DeliciousThe food was delicious! The servings were a bit on the small side, for the price that is. $15 for 5 pieces of ahi tuna, about the size of a 50 cent coin. I gave them 4 stars because of the service. We walked in at 8:15 for an 8:30 reservation and stood at the host stand for about a minute until the gentleman standing there finally looked up and asked if he could help. Then we were sat in the back of the restaurant, which wasn't bad at all, except that our server didn't realize we were there for at least 10 minutes. She did admit that she didn't see us and apologized. Overall, a decent experience. I do think that this restaurant tries to be fancier than it really is -- overpriced and way too loud. I will go back, but only with a coupon!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMReally good food consistently.Really good food consistently. Can eat healthy....or not. Always have some vegetarian or pescatarian fare along with a wide variety of finely prepared dishes for meat and poultry lovers. Wine pairings offered and wine selection broad and deep. For lightweights like me, can get a 2 oz. poor and still enjoy the wine experience. Excellent service.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGrapeseed was a pleasant surpriseGrapeseed was a pleasant surprise - outstanding in this restaurant-dense Bethesda area. The service was individual and attentive, and the food was was brilliantly prepared with an enticing mix of traditional ingredients and sparkling use of veggies and spices. My deep fried oysters were plump inside crispy delicious, and I would love to know what it was in the sautéed vegetables and sauce under my yummy pork chop that made the whole dish divine. I came with friends seeking excellent food in an ambience without too much noise, and found both. We were surprised that there were so few peole on a Thursday night.4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic meal, great service.Fantastic meal, great service. For a quieter experience, we will select the tables in the back of the restaurant next time.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMA Great GrapeI had cod and it was fantastic. My wife had short rib and it was equally good. Enjoyed "deconstructed" cheesecake and this was a great finish.
Exceptionally good service on a Wednesday evening.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful meal, as alwaysWe always enjoy this place and this last visit was no exception. Some truly wonderful options on the menu--no disappointments. A great spot for a special occasion or romantic evening.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWe dined using a Groupon,We dined using a Groupon, and were treated to wonderful food, and great service. I had previously been to the wine bar, which is outstanding, ,and our waiter helped us pick a wonderful wine for our dinner. The food was imaginative but not overly complicated, delicious and well presented. Without the discount, it would have been special-occasion pricey.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWe came for the Easter brunchWe came for the Easter brunch and were at the tail end of it, around 3:00 pm. But even though the place was empty by then, we enjoyed fresh and delicious food, including an omelete. Both of us enjoyed the selection available, as it was a buffet style setup. The service was very good and friendly and they never made us feel as if they wanted to go home. We were literally the only people there at the time we started to eat. Not that they didn't have a good day, brunch was just over by then.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGrapeseed exceeded my expectations.Grapeseed exceeded my expectations. The food was outstanding, each dish was flavorful and well prepared. The short rib was the best I have ever tasted. It fell apart with just a fork. The calamari was spicy and balanced. The wine list was very good and the prices were reasonable. I would certainly return and recommended.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMLive a bit! When money isn't an object (you'll spend a lot!), go. The service is impeccable--everything done just right. The wine was presented and served just as it was supposed to be done: clearly, Grapseed invested in properly training its wait staff. Unlike so many places that aspire to be classy and get it all wrong, Grapeseed gets it all right. You'll look at the menu and be sad that by ordering one thing you won't be ordering something else. Go with friends and order different dishes and share; everything you taste will be a sensation to remember.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMMust go!!!This was one of the greatest finds to have dinner!! What a wonderful meal with excellent dishes all cooked and spiced perfectly. The service was also excellent!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was very good andThe food was very good and the service was polite and extremely fast! The only negative was that the bus boys kept asking if I was done eating as I worked slowly on my entree.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWe go to Grapeseed 3-4 timesWe go to Grapeseed 3-4 times a year. It is one of or solid stand-bys -- we have always enjoyed the food. A few comments of note this time around: (a) the service we had this visit was truly outstanding - attentive, but not disruptive, just all around superior; (b) the calamari appetizer always delivers, and we always enjoy the grilled caesar salad; (c) we have found their desserts to not be their strong suit; and (d) the menu seemed to be a bit stale - did not seem to have changed much, if at all, over the past 4-6 months; perhaps we were just a few weeks before an upcoming change.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a great dinner last night.Had a great dinner last night. Seems like the place is coming back to where it used to be. for awhile it was hit or miss. but this dinner was a hit.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat PlaceWith the change at Persimmon, this has become our favorite Bethesda restaurant. Great place, especially with out of town guests. We saw several people just stop in for appetizers at the bar. Great Idea!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a sterling restaurantThis is a sterling restaurant among a lot of choices for dining in Bethesda. The food is excellent and portioned well. It's creative, but not edgy dishes are uniformly delicious. The atmosphere is not pretentious or faux hip. Service is attentive and sophisticated. (No "how are you guys doing?" or leaving used forks to be reused for the next course.) This is an elegant restaurant well-suited for adults who want a great meal and to converse over dinner without intrusive background music or bad acoustics resulting in the din of fellow diners.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was great and theThe food was great and the prices fair for what was offered.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMPERFECTAbsolutely nothing negative to say about Grapeseed. The food was phenomenal, the staff attentive and knowledgeable, the atmosphere was hip - we had a great time and will return again and again.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMfROM THE SEATING HOSTESS TOfROM THE SEATING HOSTESS TO THE BARTENDER AND THE WATIRESS, EVERYONE WAS FRIENDLY, and courteous.

Will be back and will reccomend3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMI took my boyfriend out toI took my boyfriend out to Grapeseed for his birthday. The service was really excellent. The food was a bit too salty for both of us but we still enjoyed it. We asked to sit in the back of the restaurant because we could tell when we came in that it was loud. The noise didn't bother us so much once we sat down back there but while it's generally good for special occasions I don't recommend Grapeseed for a quiet, romantic night out.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a great dinner withWe had a great dinner with excellent food and great service.
