  • "Very nice, especially for lunch. The prix-fixe buffet has an astonishing selection of great choices; it's a bit pricey for a lunch, just make sure it's your major meal of the day. There are also a la carte selections. For dinner, some nice choices but not a huge selection; the buffet table as appetizer is great and is included with the price of the entree. We enjoyed the evening's special dish, lamb meatballs. The crab cakes were also good. Great wine-by-the-glass selection. We came for dinner on a Friday evening when the museum is open late, and it made it a special occasion evening."

  • "My daughter's burger was ordered "rare" and received well done. Our server had to notice that she hardly touched it, but no one ever asked if everything was okay. I ordered the buffet, which was also disappointing and cold. Things were never "refreshed" on the buffet as we were promised would happen. I think the food had been sitting out for several hours. Very disappointing. We love the Philadelphia Museum, but would advise other art lovers to find another place to eat that serves fresh food made to order. Not worth the money or our time."

The buffet food was cold and that is with drinking water and no alcoholic beverages we paid $120 for a buffet that was like something you get at a roadside hotel breakfast buffet for $15.   • "My niece was visiting from Connecticut and had never visited the Art Museum. I made reservations at Granite Hill so we could maximize our time at the museum. The Maitre d and wait staff were so pleasant, attentive and knowledgeable. We started with the Franco-Vietnamese Spring Rolls accompanied by a wonderful peanut sauce, as well as the Parsnip-Pear soup with shavings of roasted pear and sorrell puree that was amazing. For the main course, I had a delightful assortment of marinated grilled shrimp, thin sliced filet, and a delicious choice of bread, vegetables, fruit and dessert! from the Chef's buffet and my niece had the Chicken Confit salad which she thoroughly enjoyed. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the museum."

This time, Sunday brunch was dreary, and, not surprisingly, poorly attended. Because the place was mostly empty, there was no problem with noise, but there was a problem with the food. It started out appropriately with a lukewarm kir royale with fizz-less champagne -- a sign of what was in store. The buffet table had many items that looked appealing, but aside from the cold asparagus and salmon rolls -- both nice, everything was tired, dry, and overcooked, as well as missing seasoning that could enliven the flavors. The servers were sweet and attentive. Too bad the kitchen seems to have lost the plot."

  • "This restaurant in the art museum had mixed reviews so I was hesitant but glad I tried it. We had the perfect day spending time at the museum, a delicious brunch, and a chance to walk outside on the river. The service was excellent and there was more than enough food. If a dish emptied, it was quickly replaced. The food was good quality and there were plenty of choices for both the vegetarians and the carnivores among us (I find buffets are never as good as freshly made dishes). If spending time at the museum I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a meal."

Once we sat down things got better. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was pleasant. My mom was very satisfied and we enjoyed eating in the museum."

  • "I had a party of 5 for the Mother's Day Brunch. Reservations were at 12. We arrived 10 mins early & waited 20 mins to be seated. Our table was already set-up and the restaurant far from full. Didn't understand the wait. The food was good, however, there was a small variety and you had to wait for empty stations to be replenished. The staff was GREAT. I have no clue about how the normal course of dining is, so I cannot speak on it. But the brunch is merely "ok." Parking was $12 which made no sense. Waterworks has free valet parking and the food variety is so much better and the price is the same. It was not a "bad" choice, but I have no reason to ever return. Restaurant itself was very nicely appointed."

Used dishes & utensils "disappeared" & napkins were quickly refolded. Food was, as always, outstanding. This is our 17th year that we have had Mother's Day brunch here & we intend to continue this tradition. I highly recommend it. After brunch, you can tour the museum. We've visited many museums (and their dining venues) in the US & Europe - Granite Hill is among the tops. As I mentioned to the Maître d ‘ (Christine) this Restaurant was better than the one at the Louvre & that's hard to beat. We had a gift certificate that expired, but the manager honored the certificate, without any hassle. "

We struck up a lively conversation with the chef cooking the omelets and when we commented on the delicious braised ribs and other dishes he brought out the head chef so we could tell him. The omelet station was manned by the chef who had also cooked the braised ribs with root vegetables. Great technique and personable too. The only thing that bothered me was that the trout was cold and a little dried out-am wondering if there is a way to keep it warm or bring out small warm portions at a time. "
