A word from Grange
Located in downtown Sacramento, America's Farm to Fork Capital, Grange is a culinary expression of all things local, reflecting the authentic essence and soul of the community.

The menu showcases the market-driven bounties from the state and is best described as simple, seasonal and soulful. Organically raised meats and poultry are complemented with the freshest produce available from the Central Valley, while sustainable coastal seafood is paired with a spectacular all-California wine list. The entrees are presented in a straightforward American brasserie style. Lastly, enjoy the creations from our pastry chef such as rustic artisan breads and desserts.

This Sacramento restaurant’s setting is both classic and authentic. The two-story space combines architectural elements from the building’s rich history with exposed beams and concrete columns to create a surprising and urbane, loft-like atmosphere.

Diner Reviews
  • "very good food but too noisy for group conversation"

  • "It was our first time at the Grange and the food was great! Our waiter Roger was delightful and gave us very good recommendations! I would recommend this restaurant to friends and family."

  • "Wonderful server who was informative, pleasant and watchful but not intrusive. The food was very good but a little pricey for lunch."

  • "As is characteristic of so many California restaurants, the dishes are inventive to the point of being bizarre, but are nonetheless good. Most of them."

  • "My last review was pretty negative because of a not-so-peachy experience. This week they made up for it! Had the meatloaf special and it was outstanding. My dining companion had the portabello summer squash sandwich and we were both pleased. I think I've figured it out. If you are actually expecting a meal, have a sandwich. For some reason there seems to be a need to serve salads with 7 or fewer leaves. The server was terrific, just the right mix of attentive and leave-us-along."

  • "My husband liked his dinner, mine was not good. The tuna was fishy and bland in flavor, green beans were nothing special, menu says gold beets and I got red (which was the only part of the meal I liked, but the menu should say what it is). I have been here before and loved it but this time was much different. My husband said he would get his meal again but he had two thin, slightly over 1 inch bones in his chicken. When you pay that much then the meal should be great and have more flavor (my meal) and no bones (his meal)."

  • "We celebrated our 41st anniversary this weekend by having dinner at a Grange. The dinner, as usual, was superb....strawberry/beet salad, pork chop with peach glaze, and peach crisp. Great bread and the service is the best- no restaurant in the big city- can match the mature, professional service that we have had at Grange the last two times we have been there. Sacramento is fortunate to have a restaurant of this quality."

  • "As always Grange had the best dinner in town. Alycia our server is the best we come to Grange at least two times a month. The food is great, the trout and halibut was perfect. We would highly recommend Grange for any occasion."

  • "Grange continues to be among the best restaurants in the region. The food is beautiful and refined yet still approachable. The service and wine list are the best in sacramento bar none. If you don't end your meal with the 1881 Rhustaller malt custard you're missing out."

  • "We love the Grange, and this was no exception. If you haven't tried it, or if you haven't tried it lately, make haste and GO! And be sure to get something from every category, so go hungry. Food is unbeatable and fresh and generous and inventive (but not too much so!) and service is always over the top excellent."

  • "I hosted 3 business associates for a delicious lunch with fresh, healthy and slightly adventurous food, like the chilled watermelon soup which was just the right blend of sweet and salty. The fresh fruit spritzers are a great alternative to the ordinary ice tea. It was reasonable, healthy, perfect portions, amenable to conversation. Everyone left filled with good food and good thoughts."

  • "My wife and I met up with two friends from Santa Rosa who arrived earlier than us, so were seated at the bar when we got there. The host and bartender had been telling them of the history of the place, some things about the new chef, a some food recommendations. We were seated promptly and served well. The waiter brought us some samples of yellow watermelon that they had just bought. They brunch menu was short, but everything was fresh made from fresh, organic ingredients. After the meal the waiter again brought us samples of a drink the bartender was creating using the yellow watermelon. All in all a fine meal and good experience. Our friends said they would come again and possibly stay at the hotel for a treat."

  • "We had a party of 8 and all of us enjoyed ourselves. Food was excellent, service was excellent and cocktails were perfect. We even accidentally knocked over a water glass and they swooped in and cleaned it up so quickly you would have never known. Love the vibe and highly reccomend! Will go back!"

  • "This restaurant has a great variety of meats and generous portions. The salad was spectacular. This spread was fit for the person watching their calories and for the hearty eater. The bread was so delicious and the service was excellent."

  • "The food was fantastic and the look and feel of the restaurant was perfect. I am gluten free and you had many choices but more importantly my mother is 100% organic and I mentioned it when I made the reservation. VERY unexpected to us, upon are arrival the chef came out and personally spoke to my mother of the options he had prepared for her. She has not been able to eat out in many years due to her organic needs and this was a thrill and a blessing for her THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!"

  • "We came for lunch - my companions were tardy (arriving about 1:15 PM) due to a lengthy hearing, and then needed to return to the hearing promptly by 2. I let our server know their tight timeframe. We ordered 2 salads, 2 sandwiches. We waited well over 20 minutes for our food, even though the restaurant was not busy. One sandwich was cold, the other nearly burnt. I saw a sandwich being mistakenly served to a table of one. When the employee came by to pick up the "mistake" a chip fell off the plate, which she then popped into her mouth and ate. I have always had very good, attentive, professional service and food at Grange. Unfortunately this was not the case on this visit, which was quite embarrassing as my guests are also clients."

  • "If you haven't tried Grange for breakfast, you are missing out.True to Grange style, all the food is fresh and perfect. I had bacon, poached eggs, fruit, toast and coffee. Such a healthy and excellent meal! Their bacon is so perfect, and the whole wheat toast fantastic. Also at our table, there was egg white omelette, pancakes with pecan butter, breakfast burrito. All so very good. Sorry to make your mouth water. Hope you can go soon."

  • "I have eaten at Grange on numerous occasions but this last time, the AC was turned up so high we were freezing. The table next to us also complained. We were told that they were having trouble adjusting the temp. and the only solution was to open the window. Hope they get that fixed. So, be aware to bring a jacket with you even if it is 90 degrees outside."

  • "We went for breakfast. It was outstanding. We had been many times for dinner which usually is fantastic. This is a great place for either a casual personal breakfast or a business breakfast. The food is top tier for breakfast with outstanding service."

  • "Had a nice lunch...friendly service but the kitchen was very slow. After 40 minutes we were just about ready to walk out, after being told...twice....that our lunch would be "right out". If you are on an hours lunch break, don't chance it."

  • "Met a friend there for lunch and while the food was tasty, clearly they are reducing the portions. The peach salad had one peach a couple of tiny smears of burrata and about 8 slivers of arugula. Ironically, there was plenty of prosciutto, because my friend asked that her portion be put on my plate. Honestly, it was something out of a comedy routine. I love The Grange so maybe it was just a bad day. I also wish the server (who was excellent) had mentioned that the peach melba included peaches that had been soaked in wine. Would have ordered something non-alcoholic. All in all, a disappointing experience from a restaurant I usually enjoy."

  • "While visiting Sacramento for the Youth Nationals Rowing Championships, we had several hours before a red-eye flight. Grange was perfect pre-flight meal. Hip, sleek environment, great bar offerings (garlic fries, wow), artisan beers and just about any cocktail you could hope to have. Just an all around really cool place. The mussels were fantastic, the halibut wonderful. The Brentwood Corn soup was outstanding--the blueberries and bacon offering an unexpected and delicious twist. I would absolutely return to Grange. I feel like I scored big time finding it!"

  • "See above. An excellent experience. I took my dad for Father's Day and impressed with the polite and informative staff. The food was outstanding. I ordered the omelette and my dad the egg's Benedict. Neither one of us could stop raving about the food. Very fresh and satisfying."

  • "First time here after reading so much about it. Very attractive and classy place and service was top notch. However the food was uneven for the considerable prices charged. 30$ for a square of dried out halibut? The beets and beans with it were best part. The ahi appetizer while obviously fresh was seriously lacking in taste. The pork chop was awesome which for 28$ u would hope it would be. Had a nice time but expected more."

  • "I brought my father and sister to the Grange for lunch. They were very friendly and the service was excellent. The wine list was very good and I was happy with my meal- great salads. At the end of the meal the server bought out a plate of desert samples in honor of my Dad's birthday. It was very nice and made the meal special. I would go back again for sure."

  • "A group of 8 of us enjoyed a birthday lunch celebration. Everyone raved about their food choices and were pleased with the food. Service was very good also, just the right level of attention. On a personal note, being a vegan, it was great to have multiple choices to choose from that could be made vegan. A great experience that everyone said we should do again."

  • "I've eaten at the Grange many times since opening week and it just gets better and better. We especially appreciate our regular server, Roger. He takes the time to explain the dishes and has a great knowledge of wines and what would pair best with our meal selections."

  • "I have eaten at the Grange 3 times (dinner). Each time was a pleasure. Love the menu and the atmosphere. It's very classy dining with superb food. All the staff are very polite and helpful. The entire table had compliments for each individual meal. The wine was wonderful as well as the appetizers, salads, cheese plates and desserts. The paring of unique flavors was truly enjoyable. Thank you."

  • "Dining at the Grange was a delight from ease of getting a reservation to arrival, setting, excellent care-taking wait staff, and then delicious dinners for each of us. The creative menu allowed wonderful choices of fresh foods that were excellent. The halibut melted in our mouths. Only complaint from one of our party was the pork chop was a little tough."

I had the chicken and it was so delicious had flavorful skin and was so juicy at the same time and the peach mostarda made it unforgettable, definitely not your mom's chicken. The dessert that they served us definitely made a perfect end to the meal. We will definitely be going back."
