A word from Grange
Located in downtown Sacramento, America's Farm to Fork Capital, Grange is a culinary expression of all things local, reflecting the authentic essence and soul of the community.

The menu showcases the market-driven bounties from the state and is best described as simple, seasonal and soulful. Organically raised meats and poultry are complemented with the freshest produce available from the Central Valley, while sustainable coastal seafood is paired with a spectacular all-California wine list. The entrees are presented in a straightforward American brasserie style. Lastly, enjoy the creations from our pastry chef such as rustic artisan breads and desserts.

This Sacramento restaurant’s setting is both classic and authentic. The two-story space combines architectural elements from the building’s rich history with exposed beams and concrete columns to create a surprising and urbane, loft-like atmosphere.

Diner Reviews
  • "We ordered small plates because choice was hard between all the great-sounding dishes. Each dish was well-prepared and sizable enough to share. We plan to return and introduce the Grange to our family when they visit."

  • "We've been many times since they opened. sometimes most or all of the entres are good to great while some very average. this time 2 of the 3 were very good, one wasn't grange worthy. service is rarely fast but this time it was uncharacteristically slow. the place is always pretty and enjoyable place to dine aesthetically, it doesn't seem like the food has consistently lived up to the ambience. we keep bringing people trying to get more people to catch on. when their feeling is like i've described here recruitment is going slow."

  • "The service was wonderful except for the wait person telling me how I should eat my salad. I was part way through it and hadn't poked the poached egg yet to mix the yoke into the salad. I didn't need an explanation of how or when to do it. Please don't assume I'm stupid just because I eat my green bean caesar differently than you would. Think a minute. Why would I have ordered a salad with a poached egg, if I didn't know what to do with it? Food fabulous, by the way."

  • "Five of us went for dinner and really enjoyed the service and attention we received from Tiffany and sharing a series of small plates. We participated in our own olive oil dipping tests; plowed through the cheeses and meat tray; the Tuna Tartare; the ribs; the noodles; fresh bean Cesar salad; and two people actually shared the "Mary's Chicken...". We consumed lots of tasty fresh bread and two hours later were too full for dessert, so, we promised we would return and start with the dessert menu and work backwards. It was a fun evening with really enjoyable creative choices of food treats."

  • "We have never had a bad experience at Grange. All of aspects of excellent dining are always in play here."

  • "The Grange promised a lot, and delivered, in our recent visit. I read some great reviews of the restaurant in my search for a special place, before arriving in town, and was pleased that my own impressions matched the great reviews I read. When I arrived a bit early, the staff graciously seated me, enabling me to wait comfortably for my fellow dining companion. The dinner menu reflected the seasonal bounty of Sacramento - the greens with goat cheese I had as a starter were outstanding, as was the sustainably caught seared tuna. I'd highly recommend this restaurant to all visitors and residents of Sacramento!"

  • "From the moment we entered the bar area to the time we left, the bar tender, hostess and wait staff were welcoming, attentive, and friendly. And the food was FANTASTIC! Thank Grange for a wonderful time!"

  • "This place keeps making it difficult not to come back. Service, food and general easy atmosphere makes this a great dining experience. We were going to catch a show at the Crest around the corner and the waiter asked if we were in need of leaving at a certain time and made sure that we met that deadline without rushing us through the meal."

  • "A treat for the eyes as well as the palate, excellent meal at Grange. Compelling menu items, lovely presentation, comfortable & attractive interior, loved everything about our meal. Three of us at dinner, and each fully enjoyed appetizer and entree."

  • "Excellent service and tasty salads at lunch. Quiet at lunch so great for conversations."

  • "I love the ambience, service, and food at the Grange. The only thing for me is it is a bit over pricey for the portions you get."

  • "Just had brunch at Grange with 8 members of our family including one toddler and one infant. They couldnt have been more welcoming and had a table all set up for us in the back corner where we wouldnt bother anyone and no one would bother us. The server was as attentive as he could be, the food was delicious and we had a wonderful time."

  • "We took a friend here for his first time at Grange. It was fabulous! Alyisa took care of us at she made all of us special drinks, it was perfect our friend commented that he has never had such great drinks or service. The chicken was perfectly cooked, tuna was to great as well. We would highly recommend Grange we will be back again and again"

  • "We had well traveled, international friends form Mid west that totally enjoyed the farm-to-fork experience. The food was cooked to perfection. We were also glad that the staff did not rush us and the pacing of the meal was most enjoyable. The staff was knowedgeable regarding the source of each entree and answered all questions we had about the menu."

  • "We really enjoy Grange. Although my wife on this visit didn't enjoy her menu choices as much as other visits we will be back. It's on our top tier list of good restaurants in the Sacramento area. We always ask for Roger as a server. Their signature Manhattan is superb."

  • "The five of use absolutely loved each dish that came to the table - such wonderful flavor and combinations of farm fresh food. The chef had prepared the menu using not only food that was in season, but it was planned with the very hot weather in mind. The choices were bright and light (and by light, I do not mean insubstantial. There was plenty of food - flavorful combinations that didn't leave you sweating...) The service was the best I believe I've ever had. The server educated us about the menu, the food choices, a recent book he'd read....he was very attentive without interrupting our social time or making us feel we needed to move through our courses. Delightful man We will go back. Many times. I recommend this restaurant to anyone."

  • "If you like to have smaller portions and a wide variety of flavors, go for multiple choices off the small plates selections. We choose to have a custom cheese and charcuterie plate served. It was delicious. We followed up with a couple of other choices from the menu. This is a great way to experience the potential of the chef. You can taste a wide variety of foods and not get stuck with a full entrée portion. We be back as the season change and the menu changes with it."

  • "I've been to Grange for dinner several times but this was the first time for brunch. There were standard breakfast items but also a few creative ones. Though the menu is pretty small for brunch, the food was well prepared and tasty. I'd go back."

  • "Start your meal with dessert to share! You don't want to miss out on the cobbler. The crumble topping has great texture to balance out the peach slurry served in a hot cast iron. Dinner was also delicious but it's easy to order entrées and appetizers and not leave room for the finish. The timing of our food and drinks stretched out to find midnight arriving without noticing. Always a meal to look forward to with fresh seasonal dishes."

  • "This was my first time dining in the main dining room - I always ate in the private banquet room on previous visits. Our server was exceptional. Not hurried or pressured and very attentive. Food choices are always varied and run the gamut of familiar to the unusual (but inviting). I had the seared ahi and the portions were generous and very nicely prepared and presented. I'll definitely be returning."

  • "As is characteristic of so many California restaurants, the dishes are inventive to the point of being bizarre, but are nonetheless good. Most of them."

  • "My last review was pretty negative because of a not-so-peachy experience. This week they made up for it! Had the meatloaf special and it was outstanding. My dining companion had the portabello summer squash sandwich and we were both pleased. I think I've figured it out. If you are actually expecting a meal, have a sandwich. For some reason there seems to be a need to serve salads with 7 or fewer leaves. The server was terrific, just the right mix of attentive and leave-us-along."

  • "My husband liked his dinner, mine was not good. The tuna was fishy and bland in flavor, green beans were nothing special, menu says gold beets and I got red (which was the only part of the meal I liked, but the menu should say what it is). I have been here before and loved it but this time was much different. My husband said he would get his meal again but he had two thin, slightly over 1 inch bones in his chicken. When you pay that much then the meal should be great and have more flavor (my meal) and no bones (his meal)."

  • "We celebrated our 41st anniversary this weekend by having dinner at a Grange. The dinner, as usual, was superb....strawberry/beet salad, pork chop with peach glaze, and peach crisp. Great bread and the service is the best- no restaurant in the big city- can match the mature, professional service that we have had at Grange the last two times we have been there. Sacramento is fortunate to have a restaurant of this quality."

  • "As always Grange had the best dinner in town. Alycia our server is the best we come to Grange at least two times a month. The food is great, the trout and halibut was perfect. We would highly recommend Grange for any occasion."

  • "Grange continues to be among the best restaurants in the region. The food is beautiful and refined yet still approachable. The service and wine list are the best in sacramento bar none. If you don't end your meal with the 1881 Rhustaller malt custard you're missing out."

  • "We love the Grange, and this was no exception. If you haven't tried it, or if you haven't tried it lately, make haste and GO! And be sure to get something from every category, so go hungry. Food is unbeatable and fresh and generous and inventive (but not too much so!) and service is always over the top excellent."

  • "I hosted 3 business associates for a delicious lunch with fresh, healthy and slightly adventurous food, like the chilled watermelon soup which was just the right blend of sweet and salty. The fresh fruit spritzers are a great alternative to the ordinary ice tea. It was reasonable, healthy, perfect portions, amenable to conversation. Everyone left filled with good food and good thoughts."

  • "My wife and I met up with two friends from Santa Rosa who arrived earlier than us, so were seated at the bar when we got there. The host and bartender had been telling them of the history of the place, some things about the new chef, a some food recommendations. We were seated promptly and served well. The waiter brought us some samples of yellow watermelon that they had just bought. They brunch menu was short, but everything was fresh made from fresh, organic ingredients. After the meal the waiter again brought us samples of a drink the bartender was creating using the yellow watermelon. All in all a fine meal and good experience. Our friends said they would come again and possibly stay at the hotel for a treat."

  • "We had a party of 8 and all of us enjoyed ourselves. Food was excellent, service was excellent and cocktails were perfect. We even accidentally knocked over a water glass and they swooped in and cleaned it up so quickly you would have never known. Love the vibe and highly reccomend! Will go back!"

  • "The food was fantastic and the look and feel of the restaurant was perfect. I am gluten free and you had many choices but more importantly my mother is 100% organic and I mentioned it when I made the reservation. VERY unexpected to us, upon are arrival the chef came out and personally spoke to my mother of the options he had prepared for her. She has not been able to eat out in many years due to her organic needs and this was a thrill and a blessing for her THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!"

  • "We came for lunch - my companions were tardy (arriving about 1:15 PM) due to a lengthy hearing, and then needed to return to the hearing promptly by 2. I let our server know their tight timeframe. We ordered 2 salads, 2 sandwiches. We waited well over 20 minutes for our food, even though the restaurant was not busy. One sandwich was cold, the other nearly burnt. I saw a sandwich being mistakenly served to a table of one. When the employee came by to pick up the "mistake" a chip fell off the plate, which she then popped into her mouth and ate. I have always had very good, attentive, professional service and food at Grange. Unfortunately this was not the case on this visit, which was quite embarrassing as my guests are also clients."
