  • "My last review was pretty negative because of a not-so-peachy experience. This week they made up for it! Had the meatloaf special and it was outstanding. My dining companion had the portabello summer squash sandwich and we were both pleased. I think I've figured it out. If you are actually expecting a meal, have a sandwich. For some reason there seems to be a need to serve salads with 7 or fewer leaves. The server was terrific, just the right mix of attentive and leave-us-along."

  • "My husband liked his dinner, mine was not good. The tuna was fishy and bland in flavor, green beans were nothing special, menu says gold beets and I got red (which was the only part of the meal I liked, but the menu should say what it is). I have been here before and loved it but this time was much different. My husband said he would get his meal again but he had two thin, slightly over 1 inch bones in his chicken. When you pay that much then the meal should be great and have more flavor (my meal) and no bones (his meal)."

  • "We celebrated our 41st anniversary this weekend by having dinner at a Grange. The dinner, as usual, was superb....strawberry/beet salad, pork chop with peach glaze, and peach crisp. Great bread and the service is the best- no restaurant in the big city- can match the mature, professional service that we have had at Grange the last two times we have been there. Sacramento is fortunate to have a restaurant of this quality."

  • "I hosted 3 business associates for a delicious lunch with fresh, healthy and slightly adventurous food, like the chilled watermelon soup which was just the right blend of sweet and salty. The fresh fruit spritzers are a great alternative to the ordinary ice tea. It was reasonable, healthy, perfect portions, amenable to conversation. Everyone left filled with good food and good thoughts."

  • "My wife and I met up with two friends from Santa Rosa who arrived earlier than us, so were seated at the bar when we got there. The host and bartender had been telling them of the history of the place, some things about the new chef, a some food recommendations. We were seated promptly and served well. The waiter brought us some samples of yellow watermelon that they had just bought. They brunch menu was short, but everything was fresh made from fresh, organic ingredients. After the meal the waiter again brought us samples of a drink the bartender was creating using the yellow watermelon. All in all a fine meal and good experience. Our friends said they would come again and possibly stay at the hotel for a treat."

I am gluten free and you had many choices but more importantly my mother is 100% organic and I mentioned it when I made the reservation. VERY unexpected to us, upon are arrival the chef came out and personally spoke to my mother of the options he had prepared for her. She has not been able to eat out in many years due to her organic needs and this was a thrill and a blessing for her THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!"

  • "We came for lunch - my companions were tardy (arriving about 1:15 PM) due to a lengthy hearing, and then needed to return to the hearing promptly by 2. I let our server know their tight timeframe. We ordered 2 salads, 2 sandwiches. We waited well over 20 minutes for our food, even though the restaurant was not busy. One sandwich was cold, the other nearly burnt. I saw a sandwich being mistakenly served to a table of one. When the employee came by to pick up the "mistake" a chip fell off the plate, which she then popped into her mouth and ate. I have always had very good, attentive, professional service and food at Grange. Unfortunately this was not the case on this visit, which was quite embarrassing as my guests are also clients."

  • "If you haven't tried Grange for breakfast, you are missing out.True to Grange style, all the food is fresh and perfect. I had bacon, poached eggs, fruit, toast and coffee. Such a healthy and excellent meal! Their bacon is so perfect, and the whole wheat toast fantastic. Also at our table, there was egg white omelette, pancakes with pecan butter, breakfast burrito. All so very good. Sorry to make your mouth water. Hope you can go soon."

  • "I have eaten at Grange on numerous occasions but this last time, the AC was turned up so high we were freezing. The table next to us also complained. We were told that they were having trouble adjusting the temp. and the only solution was to open the window. Hope they get that fixed. So, be aware to bring a jacket with you even if it is 90 degrees outside."

The peach salad had one peach a couple of tiny smears of burrata and about 8 slivers of arugula. Ironically, there was plenty of prosciutto, because my friend asked that her portion be put on my plate. Honestly, it was something out of a comedy routine. I love The Grange so maybe it was just a bad day. I also wish the server (who was excellent) had mentioned that the peach melba included peaches that had been soaked in wine. Would have ordered something non-alcoholic. All in all, a disappointing experience from a restaurant I usually enjoy."

  • "While visiting Sacramento for the Youth Nationals Rowing Championships, we had several hours before a red-eye flight. Grange was perfect pre-flight meal. Hip, sleek environment, great bar offerings (garlic fries, wow), artisan beers and just about any cocktail you could hope to have. Just an all around really cool place. The mussels were fantastic, the halibut wonderful. The Brentwood Corn soup was outstanding--the blueberries and bacon offering an unexpected and delicious twist. I would absolutely return to Grange. I feel like I scored big time finding it!"

However the food was uneven for the considerable prices charged. 30$ for a square of dried out halibut? The beets and beans with it were best part. The ahi appetizer while obviously fresh was seriously lacking in taste. The pork chop was awesome which for 28$ u would hope it would be. Had a nice time but expected more."

At the end of the meal the server bought out a plate of desert samples in honor of my Dad's birthday. It was very nice and made the meal special. I would go back again for sure."
