  • "We had a very enjoyable evening at the Grange. Our party of four started with the fried pigs head, chorizo, dates, blue cheese, and spicy fried chickpeas all very good. For the entree I had grilled trout my wife had pan roasted walleye both excellent, our friends had Michigan shrimp with andouille sausage stew he loved it his wife had braised pork with winter vegetables I think she wished she had ordered something else.All in all a good meal, good service, and try the back porch lemonade."

  • "Excellent food, the duck confit was prepared excellently, and the squash and kimchi dumplings were perfect. Service faltered in the middle part of the meal, with empty plates remaining on the table for nearly ten minutes. That said, the service otherwise was great, and the food prepared quickly and expertly. A great meal."

  • "We had a 30 min wait at a crepe restaurant for a SUnday lunch with my daughter. So I decided to check out the Grange, just down the road and they indicated that they have tables available. So we walked over and got seated right away. On the menu I immediately noticed that they get their raw ingredients from local farmers and I like that. I had the goat cheese and vegetable omelette with a sausage pattie on the side and home fried potatoes with a couple slices of rye bread. Simple but tasty. It was just the right amount of food, not greasy. Along with some good conversation with my daughter and some good decaf coffee to wet my whistle, it was a good satisfying brunch. We left the place satisfied. Will definitely be back."

  • "Awesome eatery! My husband and I love to support sustainability and having another place to dine out that is farm-to-table makes it a lot easier. We went for Sunday brunch and I was pleased to have more than 1 vegetarian option. My picky palate is the only reason we didn't go sooner, and why we haven't tried their dinners, yet! We most definitely will after such a pleasing experience."

  • "I thought about how best to describe experiences at Grange. It is an unusual restaurant--in a good way! But it is a raw, hardy, fresh experience that parallels the midwest culture. Food is always incredibly fresh and well prepared with unique use of seasonal ingredients. Service is always friendly and timely. We had the fresh fish grouper special and the shrimp and andouille sausage stew was perfect for a late winter evening. Grange is all about the food and will not disappoint."

  • "I was at Grange about a year ago for dinner, and whole experience was great. The food was amazing, and the service was spot on. I was expecting a similarly delightful brunch experience this weekend but was sorely disappointed. Despite having a reservation, I had to wait 10 minutes to be seated, another 5 to even see our server, and another 10 to put in our order even for drinks. When I finally got my goat cheese omelet, it was delicious, but it wasn't worth the 45 minutes I spent waiting to flag down the server after we finished eating. The ordeal lasted a full two hours, which was something I thought I would avoid by making a reservation. I get that it was busy and maybe understaffed, but I would not come back for brunch again."

Their locally sourced foods and ever changing menu keep it interesting and exciting and always a treat to visit. The Valentine's Day set menu did not disappoint this year, standouts were the oysters, seared scallops, and lobster tail. Service was attentive and helpful answering any questions we had about the menu."

  • "We loved the chorizo and date appetizer. The trout entree with cauliflower and the flourless chocolate cake were delicious. One person in our party liked his brussel sprouts so much, we ordered a dish for the table. The cocktails are my favorite in town. I especially love the GGGinger. We had a group of six and had a nice circular table so easy to talk as a group. The acoustics are really good so it's a good place to have a quiet, relaxed conversation."

  • "The menu is inventive enough, but the preparation left a bit to be desired. All three of our entrees were oversalted, and the beef was dry/overcooked. Everything was otherwise competently prepared, and the chickpea stew was seasoned authentically, but nothing left us saying "wow." It's also odd that the house negroni uses rum rather than gin--and when I asked if I might substitute gin for the rum, the server said, "you want RUM in a negroni?" as if he wasn't familiar with his own drinks menu. I suppose there's a reason this was one of the few restaurants with same-day availability on the Saturday night of restaurant week. Fine, but not a standout."

  • "It was my Birthday and having the opportunity to do the Ann Arbor Restaurant weed available, we have made it a tradition. Our waiter was wonderful, and the complimentary dessert was a sweet touch. My trout was fabulous...and they changed it for me as I cannot have any dairy. My daughter had a potroast like meat entre and it was tooo typical. I like something I cannot cook. My husband found his roast chicken to be a bit dry and tough. He is a gourmet cook. I do not know it we will return. West End Grill and the Pacific Rim had been better. I love the fact that the food is local. I love piedmont beef from Traverse City an the fruit we have."

  • "Had heard great things about Grange but I thought the food was just OK. Went for Restaurant Week and the beef entree was a little dry. I thought the spicy squash dumpling appetizer was the best part of the meal. Also thought it was extremely loud in there. Occasionally had to shout across my table to hear my girlfriend talk."

  • "I went to the Grange during Restaurant Week with a friend. Everything about the experience was delightful. I love the fact that the chef uses food available locally, which means also in season. They have a chalkboard identifying all the local sources, which is nice to give an identity to all the local small businesses, whether dairies or farms. My dessert - the flourless chocolate cake paired with black pepper ice cream - was heavenly. The cake was light & airy with full chocolate flavor and the ice cream - unique and tasty. My friend loved her "coffee and donuts" dessert as well. The coffee ice cream was so good she wouldn't even let me have a small taste! Our waitress was attentive, knowledgeable, friendly and paced our meal well."

  • "We've been to Grange a few times now and we are always happy. This week was restaurant week so there was just the prix fix menu. I got the country terrine, the goat cheese salad and the trout. Everything was so tasty. I also paired this with their special wine pairing (they had red, white or beer pairings available). It was a lot of wine, but really it was very tasty and well paired with each course. My partner got the smoked trout, root vegetables, and then the braised beef. He loved his meal. He got a cocktail for his appetizer and then helped my with my wine with the rest. We also both for dessert. I got the "coffee and donuts" and he got the lavender and honey ice cream. It was the perfect end. Like always, the service was impeccable."

Both our meals (chicken and beef) were cooked to perfection. The flourless chocolate cake we had for dessert was memorable and set a new standard for presentation. I knew I'd found someplace very special when I mentioned going back for dinner when I was in Ann Arbor for Christmas, and my son gave me a resounding and enthusiastic 'yeah, Grange is awesome'. What I love about Grange is their use of local ingredients, their attention to detail, how beautifully prepared the food is, and how the wait staff personifies the perfect mix of attentive service in a relaxed atmosphere. During our superb dinner that Saturday evening, we reminisced about our fantastic brunch, especially the duck confit, and decided on the spot we had to come back on Sunday. Grange is just that good."

  • "Real food, seasonally appropriate, and much of it locally sourced...delicious but not "fussy." This relative simplicity makes it easier for those of us with dietary restrictions to find many delicious options on the menu (and the kitchen with work with you if needed.) Tonight it was trout perfectly pan fried with red cabbage and apple, and a pork loin/bratwurst combo with sauerkraut. The sausage was delicious with just the right balance of fat/lean for my taste and the loin was tender and moist with a clean pork flavor. A side of Brussel Sprouts fried and dressed simply in vinegar and a hint of red pepper rounded out our simple supper. I look forward to coming back."

  • "Went w/ visitors from Chicago, and ordered 5-course meal/wine pairing. Notables- food ranged from tasty to ok. Crustini & dessert (ice cream with bacon carmel corn) were tasty. Gnocci was "interesting". Description- gnocci was a potato roll (think tatertot not pasta), infused w/kimchee, topped w/ 2 nicely done shrimp- but "Meh". Wine parings were very nice. Service was a wash- Nice overall timing, and accom. veggie request, but server brought 2 dishes out, but forgot to remove meat on veggie dish & forgot silverware. Waited 5-6 minutes for fixed dish (bummer). Later, when clearing plates server asked me to pass my dish. I have real issue with "high-end" service asking me to pass my plate (OK for family style/casual). Music = house-Meh."
