Diner Reviews
  • "My son was visiting for the weekend and we took him there for dinner. We requested to sit outside on the patio. They told us that several people had tried to sit outside but came back in because it was very windy. We sat outside anyway. It was windy but we really enjoy dining outside so we didn't mind it. Our server said she was going to bring us a complimentary dessert due to the wind annoyance, even though it didn't really bother us. However, when she found out that the following day was my birthday, she actually brought us two complimentary desserts! Besides the great service the food was really good too. This was our second visit to Grand Street Cafe and we will definitely be going back!"

  • "Met a couple for dinner. We were seated promptly & greeted by out server Melissa who was beyond delightful & so energetic it was very refreshing. This young lady was so helpful in making our dinner selections...grilled salmon salad, baked cod, scallops & a sirloin steak wedge were all mouthwatering. Everyone enjoyed their dining experience...would return."

  • "I can always count on Grand Street as a great place to bring friends. The new menu had some nice selections. The noise level sometimes interfered with our conversations; but, it was great that the restaurant was packed with customers. Even though tables were available we felt a bit hurried to exit our table. That being said, we hadn't been together for over a year and we probably could have stayed all day. Next time we'll splurge and order dessert to "buy" us some extra time to visit. I like Grand Street so much, I'm hosting another friend there today. Thanks."

  • "A large group of 6-8 of us go to Grand Streets almost once a month for there Sunday brunch.......staff is friendly, food is fresh, and the price is fair. We go at 11:00am......before the crowd but once we are ready to leave at 12:30 its FULL!"

  • "The overall experience was good, but a noon reservation left us presented with a struggling greeter, being seated at a dirty table and the buffet line depleted. The staff quickly reacted to all the difficulties except the depleted buffet line, which was never completely replenished during our visit. Food was great and the tableside service excellent."

  • "We were looking for a dinner before a play and stumbled onto the Grand Street Cafe. We made reservations for 6 pm but arrived just before happy hour was ending and was still able to order starters at the reduced prices. The food was excellent and the service was wonderful. The ambiance was pleasant, although we were a touch underdressed. We will clearly return."

  • "We've eaten Sunday brunch here many times and it's always good. We returned last Sat. and it was packed. Our lady server had "an attitude". I had the duck and it was more fat than breast. It was so noisy (a lot of this was from the kitchen with banging pots/pans that was very distracting) we had a difficult time visiting. We will still return for Sunday brunch."

  • "Another great meal with excellent service. We have come to expect no less of Grand Street."

  • "Absolutely delicious! Coco chicken, prime rib tacos, and pretzels with cheese fondue, and kettle corn were fabulous happy hour dishes. Only complaint is guest ordered glass of wine and server did not mention bottles were half price so I felt she would not have gotten the glass. Also had to ask for happy hour menus. Otherwise, flawless evening. We'll all be coming back."

  • "My friend ordered the salmon salad and I ordered the roast chicken. She loved her salad and ate it all. I had two pieces of chicken, one of which was undercooked and pink on the inside. I am sure that if I would have told my server that she would have returned it, but I was not that hungry. The other piece was roasted perfectly. My friend ordered decaf coffee and her cup was refilled often. We had the raspberry sorbet for a light dessert. We noticed other diners' plates and their food looked excellent. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and their dinners. We ate early, before going to the opera, so the restaurant was fairly quiet. Overall, a very nice dining experience. We would both go again."

  • "First, when I called the restaurant I was told I had to make a reservation on-line instead of the usual speaking to an actual person, which I found out was untrue when my group arrived. Although I had reserved a room as we often do at Grand Street Cafe, they only had our group set up at tables in the corner, which was unacceptable for a book club where privacy to talk candidly is important. After talking to several people they eventually set up our usual room for our meeting, but of course not before reminding us we needed to spend $200 to even get the room. I was offended and will probably not attend or recommend any meetings there in the future."

  • "We have patronized Grand Street since it opened and have never been disappointed. Last visit the salmon and pork chops were outstanding plus we had a great waitress. It is always on our radar when we are going to the Rep and can be counted on to provide a great lunch when that is in the offing."

  • "I made a reservation based on what I could find out online, hoping that Grand Street would be suitable for a birthday dinner for my husband. When we told people at our hotel where we were going, they said I had made a great choice. They were right. The food was delicious, original, and beautifully presented. I was able to make healthy choices (skipped the bacon lardons) without sacrificing flavor. For dessert we forgot healthy and went for the chocolate ganache. The person waiting on our table was fun, informative, and attentive. We will be back. My new favorite -- it's tough to live 120 miles away!"

  • "Valentine's Day, special was lacking anything out of the ordinary. Offered seafood pasta (spaghetti noodles) with seafood, but it was overpowered with sausage?"

  • "Traditionally holidays, especially Valentines Day, is notorious for slow grumpy service and so-so food. Our experience was just the opposite; the waitress was energetic and helpful and the food was excellently unique!"

  • "As usual GSC showed great magic from the kitchen. Everything was as requested. Servings had plenty of food and the quality of the food was outstanding. Highly recommend it."

  • "We were seated at 6:45 in a large industrial space set entirely in 2-tops with no ambience. Only one other couple was seated after us. By 8 pm most of the tables were empty and they were removing the glasses from the other tables. When we left, the main restaurant was packed with people waiting for tables. We surmised that this setup was for early reservations for couples. We felt banished. Server was good and the food OK ( the rissotto was salty). However, we still felt like second-class diners. We selected the Grand Street because it's a lively, fun place to dine. They've lost my future business, as well as their reputation in my eyes. No restaurant succeeds when it makes customers feel cheated of a good dining experience!!!"

  • "We had a group of eight people and were given the boardroom to the right of the main entrance. It was beautiful, quiet and we felt like we were dining in style. The room could easily fit more than eight, probably up to 15, so it's great for groups."

  • "We have talked about eating at the Grand Street Cafe but just have never made it. Finally we went for Valentine's Day. They were extremely busy, but our service was terrific, and the food was wonderful. We had reservations and were seated right away. Great new find for us."

  • "We were seated in a banquet room that was set up for the Valentines day croud. The room was stark, nothing on the walls and chairs stacked around the wall. The ceiling was open to the plumbing and heat ducts. The meals were delicious but overpriced. With two glasses of wine and no desert the check was $100 plus tip. Definitely not worth it."

  • "I think one of the signature dishes there was the pork chop... I had it tonight. Not even marginal at best. Tasted as if someone threw a pork chop in a pan and then poured kc masterpiece barbeque sauce all over it. Absolutely horrible, and this dish in years past way an incredible dish. So much for Grand Street. My friend had duck and said it was so chewy that he could barely eat it. Would not go back with that caliber food. What a loss!"

  • "Grand Street still delivers! Recent? renovations have softened the interior, although ceiling still up there. Food remains top notch, as does service. We were there during Restaurant Week, and it was packed! Our daughter loved the (rather expensive) filet..."

  • "I went to lunch there with my mother. We both had a very nice time and the food was excellent. She had the 6 oz steak and I had the porkchop. The steak was cooked perfectly and the flavor was great. The porkchop was probably one of the best, if not the best, porkchop that I have ever had. The server was fantastic as well. I definitely recommend Grand Street Cafe to anyone that would like to enjoy an upscale dining experience."

  • "This restaurant is in a great location with excellent parking. The food is great and the ambiance wonderful. It is a good selection for celebrating any occasion or no occasion. The dress is casual but the diners are always tastefully dressed. The Grand Street offers a wide variety of menu items. There is certain to be something on the menu for everyone in your party."
