Grand Central Oyster Bar Brooklyn specializes in oysters and the freshest seafood. On any given day you find a minimum of 16 varieties of oysters. Our menu changes daily, depending on what the freshest market catches are. We make one of the best NE Clam Chowders and created the "Pan Roast." Lobster rolls, crab cakes and fresh fish entrees, as well as Po Boys and fish sandwiches are just a few items you will find daily.


We also have a seafood market, where you can purchase fresh lobsters, oysters, clams and fish, as well as prepared shrimp and old school classics, such as clams oreganta and seafood salad. In addition, we carry our own smoked salmon.

  • "We were expecting something a little more energetic and fabulous considering the legacy of the restaurant. It was totally "fine" ...nothing fabulous or exciting but not at all terrible. Crab cakes were a bit dry. Salmon was a bit buttery. Again totally fine but not fab. There needs to be more attention paid to the ambiance - there are big walls that need art or something. Had to ask for lemon for my water three times. No big deal but the place wasn't crowded at all."

  • "My wife and I went at 5:30 on a Friday with another couple before a concert. When we arrived the place was maybe 1/4 full and when we left at 7, the bar and barroom were completely full and the main dining room was 3/4 full. The maître d was pleasant and our server was very helpful and attentive. The menu was relatively simple with specials highlighted and a nice wine list. The seafood was all very fresh and prepared perfectly. My only complaint was that the pastry in the blackberry Napoleon, which is supposed to be light and flakey, was hard and tasted kind of carmelized."

  • "Don't expect the food and service like it's big brother at Grand Central Stn. A smaller menu and very different environment. The service was horrible (had read that before going but still hoped for GCS clone) and the staff knew it...apologized the whole meal. Food didn't arrive, had to ask repeatedly for requested items and food was cold in some cases. Busboy seemed to be the only person on top of things. I will return to Big Brother but won't go to Brooklyn resto anytime soon. Big disappointment."

  • "The service was abysmal. After taking our order and pouring the wine our waitress, even though she passed our table many times, completely forgot about us. We waited about a half hour for our oysters to be served. I had to ask about bread and when the very giood biscuits were brought to the table there was no butter with them (3 biscuits for 2 people. The fried oysters were the smallest oysters I have ever seen and were overcooked and tepid. The cole slaw was bland and the tartar sauce the same. We will never return. They didn't charge us for one dish but that didn't make up for the disappointment in a restaurant that was supposed to be a Brooklyn clone of the Grand Central Oyster House in Manhattan of which we are very fond."

  • "Food is quite good. On Valentine's day the kitchen was pretty slow. Our fish came out lukewarm although the risotto was hot. The oysters were excellent as were the biscuits. the dessert was also well prepared."

  • "My boyfriend and I went here for V-day. Our reservation was for 9:00, and we finally got our table at 9:45. We wanted to try the lobster, but they were out by the time we were seated. We did the $35 raw bar mixer, the Salmon appetizer, and split the Clam Linguini. We decided we were not a fan of raw oysters, but it you like them, they were pretty fancy! Despite splitting the entree, we were both pretty satisfied- and we even took half of the salmon home with us. For under $100, it was a nice splurge. The only thing we didn't like was the weird plastic swivel dining table and chairs. Not a very romantic setup. But we were satisfied over all, it was great for a V-day dinner for a couple of seafood lovers."

  • "An hour wait for appetizer oysters, another hour for dinner. Rice was cold, lobster was rubbery, and the bus boy carried away our half-full bottle without pouring it out. Another 30-minute wait for dessert and check. I was tempted to walk out and get a sandwich across the street. I should have. I ended up missing half the show I was going to."

  • "Although the menu was more limited than the Oyster Bar in Grand Central Terminal, we tried a broad selection of dishes, and each was tasty. Nice selection of oysters, very fresh. Our server was attentive and friendly, even volunteering an extra basket of biscuits (delicious, by the way) when the rest of our party arrived. Our only caveat was that the decor is all hard-surfaced and rather plain, making the place quite noisy - not the best for conversation among a table of friends."
