A beautiful secret room ...Who knew that Maialino had a little sister who lived high up on the roof, under the clouds but above the New York skyline, looking down at Gramercy Park. Only open for breakfast and lunch (in the evenings it's a drinks and special event spot), Gramercy Terrace is one of those rare finds in New York City - a peaceful zen like quality. (Unfortunately) Stumptown coffee flows freshly brewed and well tended, the staff is friendly and convivial and all of Danny Meyer's touches can be seen in the seasonal farm fresh ingredient laden menu. This is one of those spots I'll be visiting many times to come.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat outdoor Sunday brunchCame here around 2:30 on Sunday afternoon for brunch with a friend. Delicious food, great atmosphere and friendly (but slow) service. You need a reservation and the place books ups pretty far in advance.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved it. Excellent service.Loved it. Excellent service. Great food. Wonderful vibe and location.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGarden on the RoofThe space is amazing. Feels like a green house. Feels like you are outdoors when you are actually inside the glass. Beautiful greenery. Their French toast was amazing by is no longer on the menu. Amazing art to be surrounded by in the adjacent rooms. Excellent service. The hosts are very nice and accommodating.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat atmosphere, OK foodI was really looking forward to visiting Gramercy Terrace for brunch. Unfortunately the day I made my reservation for it was rainy so we didn't get to enjoy the open rooftop. Either way, the ambiance of the terrace and the service were both great. The terrace was busy but we didn't feel rushed by our server which is important to me. The food didn't blow me away for the price. I ordered the $14 breakfast biscuit which my husband commented could have been bought at McDonald's. He had 2 eggs any style with bacon served in a cast iron pan. He thought it was good but for $16, nothing we couldn't have made ourselves. The bacon was also way too peppered. I would return for the atmosphere but maybe try lunch instead of breakfast.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMDuck, duck, Go!Charming place! I can't believe that having lived in New York City for many years that I haven't eaten here.
The atmosphere is old New York meets NY art scene. There is enough of the classic look to keep the feel very elegant.
I brought my visiting out of town guests for a bite to eat before showing them the sights. We all had the duck salad and it was superb.
The next group I bring will be my old New York friends. I'm going for the buffalo burger next time! Wonderful place.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful pancakes, quiteWonderful pancakes, quite expensive and slightly boring interior.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMwe were there for mother'swe were there for mother's day. My mum loved the atmosphere and the food... the waiters were very attentive and friendly. I would definitely recommend it!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBreakfast heavenOur best breakfast on our week long NYC stay. Excellent coffe mocha, with chocolate from the Mast brothers.
I went for the buffet, and never regretted my choice. Fantastic cereal selection. A limited, but very tasty cheese selection. An unbelievable caramel muffin (which was a perfect finish for me, a big sweet tooth). Never got to taste the yoghurt, but it looked amazing in small glass jars.
My wife had the poached eggs, and they too was very tasty and well presented.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMStumptown coffee and bakedStumptown coffee and baked eggs were both really tasty. Nicely spaced tables so that you are not on top of the next table.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMI fall in love with this place...itI fall in love with this place...its so quit and nice...Perfect for romantic lunch))4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMFrom the moment you walk intoFrom the moment you walk into the Gramercy Hotel to go to the terrace you feel at ease. Every single staff member was pleasant, professional and helpful. The wait staff at the terrace was no exception, attentive and very accommodating. I was there for breakfast and ordered the poached eggs but wanted to substitute a biscuit for their jalapeno muffin and it was no problem. The food was beautifully presented and was very tasty. In my opinion I think previous comments about the food being nothing special is really about the fact that American cuisine is pretty difficult to get truly excited about without mixing in other cultural influences. This is a perfect way to treat yourself to something special in the city.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat breakfast and lunchGreat breakfast and lunch place with great views. It really a beautiful place and very reasonably priced for NYC!3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWent for brunch with girlfriendsWent for brunch with girlfriends and there couldn't be a more perfect spot. The room was sun drenched and beautiful and we had a wonderful, leisurely meal. I wish the buffet had not been so bread heavy - for the price it's a great deal, but it would have been nice to see a bigger variety and fruit! We ordered off the menu and it was good (not amazing) and had a great presentation.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a late business lunchHad a late business lunch there. Oysters and beet salad were fabulous. They accommodated the special dietary requests of my guest without issue. Though we were there late, we did not feel rushed. Perfection!!!3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went here on the recommendationWe went here on the recommendation from a friend and we were NOT disappointed! The neighborhood is very quaint (Flatiron area) and the hotel is lovely. Amazing art displayed throughout the hotel! Order the baked eggs! Yummy! They also brought us an order of their french toast because it took a little longer than normal to get our food although we didn't notice. The french toast is delicious but almost like a dessert - very sweet and rich. My 16 year old ate from the buffet which had meats, cheeses, breads and cereals - she was happy with that. The service was great and we had a nice chat with the manager and waitress. Definitely worth the trip! Prices weren't too bad but I knew ahead of time what we would be paying.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThe ambiance is spectacular! The ambiance is spectacular! I would go back definitely because it was so romantic! Can't wait to go back in the summer time. I thought the food was good but could have been a little better. But it is definitely worth going for the overall experience.1/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
