Was a bit let down with this "hot spot". The restaurant had a chaotic feel to it and I didn't care for how the restaurant was set up (seemed random with no purpose). I also felt that my food choices were great except for the chocolate mint dessert whereas my party wasn't impressed with the food at all. I wouldn't suggest Gramercy Tavern or come back for dinner next time I am in town.

A group of 4 of us had been talking for months about going to Gramercy. I hadn't been in about 8 years, and we finally decided to make a reservation (WELL in advance.) The experience was everything I remembered. Everyone on the restaurant was gracious and professional without being stuffy. There is a general sophistication about this place that presents itself with incredible ease. The ambiance is warm and comfortable, and the service impeccable. The food was perfect, and altogether, it was indeed a memorable evening. This is absolutely one of the top Restaurants in NYC. It's impressive that even after 8 years, it hasn't rested on it's laurels.

Fit For Foodies? Cute. I didn't know this was going into the Time Square Holiday Inn NY guidebook. Tom Colicchio is truly a hack sellout that gives hand jobs to be famous and open shitty vegas places. Micheal Anthony has some self respect leaving Blue Hill and the Barber PR BS machine that claims to be sustainable. (I trailed at both and what a load of crap.) Jean George, Daniel, Bouley, Craft can all open shitty Miami and Vegas place but Gramercy Tavern has some self respect, class and it it truly the best restaurant in New York. Micheal Anthony is the number 1 chef in NYC right now.

The Gramercy Tavern is reliably good, and makes an excellent choice for a business lunch or dinner. It's not as great (but still fine) for personal dining ; I receommend the enjoying eating at the wonderful bar (with the same menu and great wines by the glass). Always a solid choice!

I believe I had the same menu that I had on the more recent visit above. The meat was better the first time. On the more recent visit, I was looking forward to a different menu. My favorite meal at Gramacy Tavern was my first one. I had the very rare tuna (I'm not sure what it is called). I would love to havae it again but it may not be on the menu due to recent problems with tuna and mercury. (?) If I only gave Ambiance 4 start on my more recent visit, that was a mistake.

Not quite the amazing experience we expected but still very good. Enjoyed the food but the decor is a little fussy. However, we were very much in the minority as everyone else seems to love it! Good space between the tables, and service was excellent though so I would go back.

Simply said, "THIS IS MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT IN NEW YORK." Wow. The decor is incredibly beautiful. There are always fresh flowers. The bar is beautiful. The ceilings are high and the colors put you at rest. The service....it is the best in New York City. The food is extremely good. I take my daughter to Gramercy Tavern every year for her birthday because I know it is special. Try it....you will see. Adam Lipson

Love this restaurant. Food is fantastic. One of my favorites in the city. However, they have a 28 day in advance reservation policy. Even when I punctually call 9AM 28 days in advance I still get the attitute from the reservationist whether I would like to eat 6PM or 10PM claiming all the rest of the time is "sold out." As much as I love this restaurant this is not believable that I am not able to get a reservation between 6:30 to 9:30PM even when I follow their rules. I detect a lot of BS on their part. So I have stopped calling them to get a table and go to other places instead.
