The restaurant the food was great. The only thing that I had an issue with was with the price. I'm not a penny pincher or anything like that. The normal 15 course meal is 175.00 let's say add wine for 125.00 for 2 should be about 600.00. We had the final day New Year's Eve Meal for 10 courses it was 918.00. So we did not get 5 extra courses and paid more. Even if the New Year's eve meal was 250.00 and 125.00 for wine it would only be 750.00. The total was 918.00 and with a 15% tip was 1101.60. Thank you, Juan S. Brito.

This restaurant is closing in three days. It was very expensive yet had no tablecloths nor much in the way of decor and had very loud music, a strange mix of elegant food in casual surroundings.

Loved it. The food was above and beyond what I'd wanted for a dining experience and the friendly, knowledgeable staff just added another layer of wonderful to the meal. I am so glad I got to go before it's makeover. The foie lollipop was a bite of heaven, so smooth and silky.

As fans of Graham Elliot via his TV appearances, my husband and I really wanted to visit his restaurant. This evening was my Christmas gift to my husband, and we were not at all disappointed! The pre-set 15-course menu was creatively put together, with detailed and interesting combinations of ingredients. In a few cases, you'd think things wouldn't work - but they do! In other cases, something sounds great in theory but I questioned it in practice. Either way, our goal was to taste everything, try everything, and enjoy ourselves, which we did. To make our night ultimately complete, Graham Elliot himself appeared, visiting our table! He was friendly and kind, taking photos with us and making sure we liked the meal. Absolutely!

Knowing that Graham Elliot will be ceasing operation of this location next year, My wife and I chose this restaurant to celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary. The single choice is a 15 course tasting menu with a set price of $175per person and an additional $90 each for the wine pairings option. The staff was extremely attentive and made sure to inquire about food allergies and/or dietary restriction or preferences to allow the chef to tailor the selections to our table. While not all of the flavor combinations were great (some, like the popcorn sorbet with truffle and chive, were absolute "fails"), most were really creative, fun, and absolutley delicious. We had a great time enjoying and discussing each beautifully presented dish!

We were well received and the service is good; however the restaurant is gloomy with low lighting and none on the tables. As a result one cannot see clearly the colours or textures of what one is eating, the presentation being a silhouette on a white plate; this denies one many of the pleasures referred to in the saying 'the first bite is with the eye'. That being said, the food did appear to be monochromatic, mainly in shades of browns and beige, and that characterised most of the flavours as well, of which there seemed to be so many that they cancelled each other out and the resulting overall flavours were of nothing in particular at all. I say this having eaten similar tasting menus at most of the best known restaurants in Chicago.

I dont understand how GE got a second star in the Michelin this year. Anyway it is obviously a well known fact. The restaurant was more than half empty!!!

We were shocked to hear that, just as Graham Elliot was awarded a 2nd Michelin star, he announced the restaurant would close on Dec. 31. We were relieved, though, to hear that he plans to open a smaller, more intimate place next year. This will no doubt be a better fit for what the restaurant has evolved into - one of the best tasting menu experiences in Chicago. There is none of the showmanship of Alinea or Sixteen, but each plate is a work or art. The flavors and aromas are fabulous. We were there for the last day of the November menu and hope to return for one last visit in December. The noise and ambience of this space were right for the early incarnations of the restaurant, but the food has evolved amazingly.

Dined at Graham Elliott. Some dishes were fantastic, a few were simply bad or just overly salty (a sign of factory-like cooking, not gourmet cooking). At over $500 for two, save your cash for a restaurant that cares more about food quality than profit. Huge disappointment. Do people in the Midwest just not know better?

The 15 course degustation at GE's is quite special. Just the right amount of food for a 2 1/2 hour journey of incredible flavors and textures. The service is efficient and very professional. They are quite accommodating to any allergies and tastes. The wine list is very good, and I would not recommend the wine pairing. There are plenty of moderately priced selections for you to pair with the meal. Graham came around to every table to thank them and left us with signed copies of the menu...a nice touch and a great end to a terrific dining experience.

We spent the weekend in Chicago celebrating our anniversary and thought we would splurge by going to Graham Elliot. It was definitely a splurge (including drinks and tip, we spent over $300 per person) but it was definitely well worth it. Eachof the 16 courses (if you include the lollipops) were unique and flavourful. The service was exceptional and everyone went out of our way to ensure we had a memorable evening. Mr. Elliot was in the restaurant and he stopped by our table to say hello. He also left us with signed menus. While we are not in the habit of spending quite so much on a meal, we would definitely go back and would recommend the restaurant to any of our friends travelling to Chicago and looking for a memorable evening.

Service was just okay, not worthy of a restaurant of this caliber. Some of the waitstaff seemed relatively inexperienced. Food came out sporadically, and although I definitely appreciate not being rushed, some delays between courses were a little too long. The wine pairings, for the most part, were nothing special or remarkable. I loved the foie gras dish (a take on a fig newton?), and the guinea hen dish was extraordinary. It literally gave me chills. The prawn dish was exciting, and the sturgeon dish was very good. The desserts were okay. Overall,I was disappointed. I really expected more. I had a better dining experience (food, wine, service, ambience) at Boka a couple weeks before, and for much less money.

GE is a unique dining experience that balances creativity with approachability. Each dish has a story and you look forward to the next "chapter." Good to see they have survived and thrived amongst pretentious alternatives. I would recommend Open Table make it more clear that there is a single price fixe option. You can find that if you dig into the description, but in light of the price (and as important the time commitment) would have been good to see up front.

I thought most of the dishes were great but a few missed the mark. I would have totally gone back if the service was not so bad. Our meal took four hours with 20 to 25 minutes break between some courses. For a 15 course meal that's a long time. Our waiter was awkward. Instead of apologizing for the delays he just avoided the table. There is no excuse for bad service in such an expensive restaurant. I think the chef is trying to figure out hat he wants to be and it shows in the execution. There are a lot of better options in the city.

The food was interesting, sometimes very good, sometimes puzzling. The main problem however was with the servers. They did their job as it appears they were trained to do but as representatives of the chef they failed. The dialogue was rehearsed and perfunctory and a little rushed. If we liked something and said so it was barely acknowledged, when we did not really like something but wanted to talk about it we got a very cold reaction when it might have been better for the server to show genuine interest and ask why. It is not a personal attack on them and a lot might be learned from customer feedback. For the price of the meal we would have liked a more heartfelt presentation.

Unique food. Some courses are better than others, as to be expected. A few flavor combinations don't work (i.e., hazelnut and Concord grape). None of the desserts were sweet enough in my opinion. Some courses are a bit more interesting and playful than others. A Michelin ranked place that is not as stuffy as some of its counterparts. Our waiter was a bit rude/arrogant, but everyone else was friendly. Graham Elliot himself was there and said hello and even took pictures with us. I've been to 15 of the 19 Michelin starred places in Chicago and this restaurant lives up to it with its theatrical take in dining.

I was very much looking forward to dining at this MasterChef's noted restaurant. I have dined at other Michelin star restaurants and very much enjoy the experience of tasting menus. My first clue that this was not going to be the dining experience that I was expecting was that we walked into an almost empty establishment on a Friday evening just after 7;00Pm. We had the 10 course tasting menu NOT GOOD AT ALL!. Each course was described in one word on the menu and then left up to our unimaginative waiters with a dour attitude to fill in the rest. Some courses hit a mediocre, others were just well.NOT GOOD! The whole dinner was an absolute disappointment! Check out Alinea that easily puts the tasting menu to shame. What a waste of an evening!

We were greeted warmly and say promptly. The atmosphere was upscale but with a casual vibe. Started with a great cocktail. Chose the Chef's Tasting menu. The portion size did vary, but the overall amount of food was a lot. Yes, some of the portions are very small, like the salmon. However, the rest of the menu "made up" for the smaller portion sizes. I feel it is important to look at the menu in its entirety in order to truly see the arch of the meal and value. Have had the tastings at Tru, L2O, Alinea, Grace, Balckbird, and others. I feel that GE is well deserving of the two Michelin stars and would highly recommend you to enjoy it. Stand out dishes: Hen, Corn, Octopus, Sturgeon. GE is doing some great work and it shows!
