  • "From a great table by a window, to being treated as honored guests from the moment we were seated, our server Jeff added to the charming experience. Traditional Eggs Benedict was yummy. Gracie's is a wonderful treat to start the day."

  • "My husband and I ate here while staying in the hotel. The food in the restaurant was good. I would recommend the grilled flat bread appetizer over anything. Completely delicious."

  • "It is very nice to find a simple but elegant traditional brunch menu you can read in less than 15 minutes. Brunch can be touch and go when it comes to service and this dining room staff did a great job at an impossible task. The food was great and beautifully presented"

  • "We've brought small groups (6-8) for breakfast/brunch before Timbers matches a couple of times now. We are likely not their typical diners, but we've always had great service and fantastic food. Check out the pumpkin spice pancakes. They're absolutely lovely and the stack is about a mile and a half high. My go-to is the salmon benedict. It's been perfect each time."

  • "We randomly choose Gracie's for dinner and was delighted with everything about our dining experience. Loved the small plates as well as the entrees and beverage selection from their bar. Gracie's provided old world ambiance, a casual feel and NW flair all at a great price. We will be back soon and likely Gracie's will become a regular dining destination for us. We are looking forward to our next visit already!"

  • "Three friends wen't on a tour of Tea Houses and chose Gracie's for lunch because of the decor, great food, excellent service and because it was quiet with great music playing gently in the background so we could talk and enjoy the experience."

  • "We had not tried Gracie's before and we are glad we did. They took the challange of Portland Dining month seriously and offered a varied and interesting menu. We both tried choices on the special menu something that was a lot harder to do at other restaurants we tried. The room is very nice and the service well above average. The kitchen is good, though not in the very good department, at least not yet! It is a very pleasant place all in all and we felt the very good overall rating was more than earned. We will certainly go back....."

  • "This restaurant was wonderful. I went with a group of friends (6 of us altogther) and enjoyed thier portland Dining month offering. while i know some people had mentioned in other reviews that their portions seemed to be small, I feel it was just perfect for the three course offering they had for dining Month. This restaurant has a very nice set up, it feels fancy and you do feel like you are going back in time and sitting in a grand ballroom, yet the service is very friendly but not pretentious. It is a great place to take friends who want to have a nicer dining experience without feeling out of place or uncomfortable."

  • "I went to Gracie's when they offered the Portland Dining Month Specials for $29. We ordered the Pork Medallions and NY Steak, they were both good . I plan to return to Gracie's in the future and try their other menu items so I do recommend this restaurant."

  • "Had been to the Driftwood Room and lived it. Tried Gracie's on dining month with friends. Great time. Went back again with more friends and just as wonderful."

  • "This is a formal dining place, so a little bit more stuffy. Good service but the server won't chat you up with small talk. We went for Portland Dining Month and the food was amazing! I would go back for a special occasion celebration!"

  • "We ate at Gracie's as part of Portland Dining month - 3 courses for $29. An extensive menu was offered, and the food was excellent. Our waiter was charming and gave us good advice. The wine and cocktail were also much enjoyed."

  • "We took our son to eat here in this gracious 30s era hotel. It was comfortable and quiet, and we had many choices offered in the Portland Dining special ($29). I had the tasty crab cakes followed by the outstanding blackened salmon, an unusual but most delicious preparation, and quite a deal, as it usually goes for $27 on the regular menu. My companions' steak dinners were also excellent. We chose chocolate cake or bread pudding for dessert, and they were very good, but nothing could compare to the salmon! I sent back the first wine by the glass of pinot as it was corked, but the second pinot was excellent. This will be a perfect place to bring my mother - easy to park nearby, quiet and comfortable, as well as serving delicious food."

  • "The food was absolutely wonderful! Everyone one in our group (7 of us) enjoyed everything they got. We ate off the $29 March dining month menu. Would go back to Gracie's again. The cheesecake appetizer was the best thing I have had in a long time. Our steaks were cooked perfect."

  • "Cool décor, I love the 40s Hollywood feel to the whole place although the lighting was weird, almost like office lighting. Service was great, food was just okay and I didn't like sitting next to the door of the kitchen."

  • "We were very impressed with the food here. Razor clams were nicely presented and unusual preparation. Lamb couscous was tender and great mix of savory & sweet. Wine list is marked up about 3 times retail, but the food was unusually moderately priced."

  • "Each table gets lots of space you don't feel crowded. My wife is lactose intolerant and they were extremely accommodating about this. Very professional staff. Meals were well made and well presented."

  • "This decor of this place is very romantic and charming. Elegance yet comfortable. This is our (group of 6) second time there in the last 6 weeks. The food was delicious. The wait staff perfect, attentive yet not obnoxious. He was always there when we needed something yet we never had to feel that he was overly zealous. We closed the placed down last night and the six of us concluded that indeed Gracie's is a gem!!! Easy parking, either self park or valet."

  • "Gracie's food was average -- fresh, well cooked, but nothing memorable in the way of flavors, with the exception of the bread pudding which was excellent."

  • "I knew nothing about the restaurant other than it was in the hotel I was staying in and was convenient. What a great surprise! My wife and I have nothing but good things to say about it. and In fact had breakfast there two more times. We extolled it's virtues many times during our stay in Portland."

  • "The food was good to fabulous, depending on the dish. Our favorite was the Gorgonzola Cheesecake. The restaurant decor is amazing- classy and posh, it feels very high class. We were a little disappointed in the service. Everything was so slow, even though the restaurant wasn't very full. There were large gaps between each course. I did appreciate the complimentary valet that goes along with the meal."

  • "Tried out Gracie's for the first time during Portland Dining Month. Absolutely fantastic service by each person we encountered (valet, bar staff, and restaurant staff). Love the interior of the restaurant (and of the entire lobby at Hotel DeLuxe). The food at Gracie's was also fabulous. I had the Savory Gorgonzola Cheesecake for my appetizer. I would go back just for that! My second course was the Prosciutto Chicken. Dessert was the chocolate stout cake (luckily I had it a'la mode as it was rich, rich, rich (but divine!)). My guests had the vanilla bean creme brulee and the bread pudding. We each tried all three. Three thumbs up! :) Overall, would definitely go again!"

  • "I went for Portland Dining Month---had the bacon wrapped scallops which were amazing! The crab/shrimp cakes were also great, and the bread pudding is to die for."

  • "A group of us (5) went for dinner the other night for the special Portland Dining Month - 3 courses for $29. None of us had been there before although we knew it had great reviews. It did not let us down. Food and service was amazing. For starters, we ordered the beet salad (oh so good), caesar and spinach. For main course, most of had the NY steak - one of the best steaks I have ever had. And for dessert - the stout cake (chocolate heaven, creme brulee (I could hear the happy sound my friend made) and bread pudding. I appreciated that they easily made some subs. I asked to leave off the potatoes and they just offered extra vegetables. My friend asked for light dressing and it came with no fuss. We will definitely go back there!"

  • "Have gone to Happy Hour in the Driftwood at the Deluxe Hotel. Have wanted to go to Gracie's for a year. The March Restaurant Month gave us the perfect opportunity. Both the wilted spinach salad and the crab cakes were delicious. The steak was cooked beautifully and was excellent. I had the chicken and wild rice and would recommend it highly. Both desserts were fabulous...and we left very, very full. We will go back!"

  • "Elegant atmosphere with varied menu & opportunity to have a conversation with guests Menu consistency appreciated & wait staff attentive"

  • "Our experience at Gracie's this past Saturday was most pleasurable. What we appreciated was that the dishes were presented without the unusual combinations so in vogue now. The wilted spinach salad was excellent and worth repeating. The beet salad seemed a bit sparse. Both the salmon and my steak were flavorful. Although, medium rare came out closer to medium. Both main courses were adequate, although, I suspect that may be because we were having the Dining Month menu. The creme brûlée was very small. Overall, service was good but somewhat erratic. The woman taking our plates asked if she could "grab" it. Noise level was moderate,m but hearing at times was difficult. For us, Gracie's is worth trying on a non dining month time."

  • "With a sweet name like "Gracie's", you'd expect something cute and maybe casual. Upon arriving, we felt very UNDER dressed. The vibe of Gracie's is old Hollywood glamour, with huge crystal chandeliers and gilt on the ceiling. The food looked like it came straight out of a magazine! Beautiful presentation! Everything was rich and delicious, it was hard to put the fork down! Amazing place! Will stay at Hotel DeLuxe in the future, just to go Gracie's again!"

  • "Went with a group of 8. Everyone was satisfied. The gorgonzola cheesecake app was the best thing that anyone had purchased. Service was a bit slow as it didn't seem to be that busy in the restaurant. Might be a good idea to just eat in the Driftwood Lounge across the hall and have some of the same choices."
    Dined on 3/21/2014
  • "Gracie's has a very elegant dining area with many tables. The noise level can get high when the restaurant is full like the night that we were there. The servers are very friendly and attentive. The food was good with some of the dishes being better than others. I went for Portland dining month and they had a pretty good number of selections for each course. My favorite was the creme brûlée for dessert. It was so creamy and delicious. The one thing I would say was difficult was figuring out what items on the menu are gluten free. They have a huge spreadsheet that is confusing and the server had some difficulty explaining how it worked due to his own confusion. If you have a gluten allergy it seems that they don't deal with that frequently."

  • "Gracie's remains a favorite for dates, impressing visitors, or simply when I want a great meal in luxe - but not stuffy - surroundings. During Portland Dining Month I was thrilled to find the discounted menu did not translate to a reduction in quality, on any level, as can be the case with "promotions" elsewhere. While the food shines, the real stars are the staff. Attentive but not intrusive, they're a rarity in PDX. Special kudos for this visit, as my self-described (ahem) "high maintenance" companion started making unnecessary demands the moment we were seated. Without missing a beat, all were handled with grace and professionalism. I could not have been more impressed. Gracie's will make you feel cared for, and feed you very well."

  • "We ordered from the Portland Dining Month menu. While some of it was good, the portions on some items were very small. And overall the food was just okay. Having stayed at the Hotel Deluxe and eaten at Gracie's and in the Driftwood Room many times, this visit didn't meet my expectations unfortunately."

  • "I enjoyed the ambience of the restaurant and learned about the history of Hotel deLuxe. Great service, loved the lobby and information about moviemaking. Great way to relax and people watch."
    Dined on 3/20/2014
  • "this was a Portland Dining Month outing, and they had the most choices. And judging from what we had, everything was done well. The portions were not enormous, but with three courses it was definitely enough food. The wines by the glass [and by the bottle] were at the high end of what we were comfortable with; not lots of different beers. What makes Gracie's special is the surroundings of a classic hotel, older, but in great shape, and the dining room is a more tranquil dining experience than most."
    Dined on 3/19/2014
  • "Exceptional dining experience. Elegant but comfortable ambience, background music allowed visiting, attentive service, and wonderful menu offerings, including an additional entree, not on the online menu. Free valet and printed menu with the dining month offerings added special touches. It felt like they pulled out all the stops, and we need no encouragement to return."
    Dined on 3/19/2014
  • "I had the salmon and had to send it back- way too salty. The waiter stopped by to take our order and to gives the check- didn't care to stop by to see how we were doing."
    Dined on 3/19/2014
  • "they had such a great menu for Portland Dining Month and even added some specials also. We had the steamed clams and mussels in a chorizo broth that was absolutely amazing and a braised lamb with kale and Italian fruit couscous that was still great the next day. I would definitely come back here again and recommend everyone else I know goes too!."

  • "We went to Gracie's because it is located a block from the theater we were heading to after dinner. We hadn't been there before and were amazed to find a first-rate restaurant where the food was done to perfection. I had a wilted spinach salad, in which the spinach was every so slightly cooked but not withered, a succulent salmon filet, and a super rich and creamy creme brulee. The space was opulent, the seating comfortable and the noise almost nonexistant. A more than pleasant experience."
