Grace's MandarinExcellent Food, ok serviceI have been at this restaurant several times before and this last weekend the food was excellent as usual, however the service was borderline satisfactory. Maybe there were not enough servers or bad timing. The other 3 or 4 times I have been there it has been overall excellent. We took a chance with Grace's Mandarin. What a pleasant surprise. We asked for a quiet table and was promptly seated upstairs in a quiet booth against the far wall. Perfect. Started with the Calamari. Very tasty. Followed with two sushi rolls, Hot and Sour soup, and Szechuan Green Beans. All very good. Finished with the Berry Cheesecake. This was a little gem of a dining experience. We liked it so much, we went back within 3 days. We both loved the food, the decor, and the view looking out into the harbor from the second story is amazing during sunset (I used OT ahead of time to email a request to sit near a window- strongly recommend). They had a good selection of dishes for a fair price and there was just the right amount of food. Overall I had an amazing time and it was a great start to our date night! The sizzling beef was good, but the surf and turf was only so so (crab cake and lamp chops). My lamb was a bit undercooked. I liked the red coverings they put over your coat, if you place your coat on the back of your chair. i'd like it even more if they gave me one.
