Diner Reviews
  • "Restaurant was big. Location is right on the waterfront. We went there with daughter for lunch, and food was good. Very quiet. We can imagine dinner will be a lot more energetic. "

  • "I have been wanting to try Grace's Mandarin since Resturant Week last year. The website is what really drawn me to this palce. The menu was very interesting. When we stepped in and gave our name, we were escorted to the upper dinning area to a table reserved for us. Now I'm not sure if it was because we did it through Open Table, but was a nice suprise. The food was excellent, the service was outstanding, and yes, we will be returing."

  • "Staff is always attentive and the evening/night ambience makes it a lovely romantic dinner. And the surf & turf is always a WINNER."

  • "My daughter picked to celebrate her Birthday at Grace's. She (and the rest of us) were treated like a queen. The wait staff and manager were very attentive and sweet. We enjoyed our unique table (they all are) and our food was delicious. We wish it were closer to our home so we could return more often!"

  • "We were celebrating my (adult) daughter's birthday and it was our first time. The restaurant was ready to serve us when we got there and we were seated in a spot with a great view of the water. The food was tasty and the portions were just right. Everything looked great so everyone wanted to taste what the other had. The winner of the evening was my daughter's Herb Garlic Lamb rack which made all of us drool. We were all very satisfied with our meal and our drinks. The highlight was the surprise we got close to the end of the meal, when the manager came and wished my daughter a "Happy Birthday" and presented her with a gift of a pair of chopsticks and a box of tea. How cool was that! I, for one, definitely plan to go again."

  • "We have been to National Harbor several times and somehow never came across this restaurant. Not sure how we missed it.. It's 3 stories high on the corner by the Gaylord Hotel. We had the Hawaiian Chicken and it was great! Presented in a half pineapple it had plenty of chicken to fill you up. Beautiful atmosphere and great service. only one bad mark--- ONE bathroom for ladies??? that is crazy! especially for a restaurant that large."

  • "It was a great place to enjoy my birthday with family. Looking out the windows onto the harbor on the 2nd floor, the warm washcloths before and after our meal, and the mini foot stools for purses were unique, unexpected touches which made the experience just a bit out of the norm."

  • "Grace's Mandarin never disappoints. Exceptional service. The waiter was well-trained and organized. Grace's has seemed to think of everything - from the purse-chairs to the coat-covers. The food was divine as always. The wait time was perfect. The bathrooms were not only clean but beautiful! Love the decor of the restaurant. Even the non-alcoholic fruit punch was special :)"

  • "Went for my friend's birthday, it was a double date. The drinks, dinner and service were all great. I'd go back."

  • "Grace's Mandarin is a wonderful restaurant with beautiful Asian decor and depending on where you sit, you can have an eye-pleasing view of the National Harbor waters. Its a nice evening out whether with a group or with that special someone--I've done both. The service is on point and the food is delightful. I had the Panang with shrimp and Tom Yum soup -- both were delicious if you like Thai. My other half had a sushi sampler which he devoured without hesitation. I will definitely go back again and refer others."

  • "From the moment we entered until departure, customer service was excellent! The food...ALWAYS a party for your taste buds and the Bellini to start the evening's meal MAGNIFICO! I am grateful that there is no Graces Mandarin in my neighborhood or I would eat nothing else...it's that good. It makes it most exciting that I have to make plans to dine here and travel to make it happen...and that makes it even more special!!"

  • "Food and service are good. I forget how nice this place is, but I will definitely put it in the rotation. Love the Korean Seafood Soup. It's a little spicy, but very for a starter or meal within itself."

  • "I can't say enough about this restaurant. We went for our 14th anniversary. I booked the time for 8:45pm and then forgot and went at 8pm instead. They graciously accomodated us and gave us a table with a great view looking out over the water. As we were placing our orders I joked with my wife about our anniversary. Next thing we know the waitress had come back with a complimentary glass of champagne for both of us. The food was excellent (my wife did the seafood medley and I did the angus filet) and it was nice and intimate. Then the manager came over and presented us with gifts as well, really nice chop sticks and tea. It was totally unexpected and such a nice touch"

  • "Flawless, from beginning to end. Incredibly beautiful decor. We were seated immediately and served warmed white washcloths to clean our hands. The food during Restaurant Week was some of the best that I have ever had. Highly recommended. Can't wait to go back."

  • "Loved our dinner at Grace's. Came to National Harbor to celebrate our daughters 16th Birthday. The restaurant is gorgeous! We had so much fun walking around. The kids and I had took many photos of the beautiful decorations. The wait staff were wonderful. One of the servers overheard our toast to our daughter and at the end of the meal brought her a lovely little gift. The food was wonderful! We had a mixture of items from the Sushi menu as well as the dinner menu. Will definitely go back!"

  • "We did not know what to expect, but the decorations, lighting and mood in Grace's Mandarin is just amazing, very Hong Kong Londom decor with the telephone booth and 2 story golden buddah. The hot towels you are given before and after dining are lovely and fragrant. Instantly relaxing and soothing atmosphere. The food was exceptional, wish we lived closer to go more often. We went to dinner and then lunch the next day. The Crab Rangoon, Crab cake and Crab fried rice just marvelous so light and not greasy. Wine, Beer and Cocktail menu inventive and interesting. Want to try the sushi next time. Overall just a transporting dining experience. Great views of the Harbor."

  • "Go for happy hour! We had a 5:30 reservation (HH ends at 6) and it was 1/2 price off most of their small plates and most of the sushi. The chicken gyoza were 8.5/10 (I got another order after finishing the first), the fish nuggets were 10/10 (very filling with a great cocktail sauce on the sie), the calamari were 9/10 (generous portion, lightly fried, great dipping sauce), the chicken spring rolls were 5.5/10 (meh), and the tempura sampler plate (okra, eggplant, onion, shrimp, sweet potato) was 7/10. We did cut rolls (6 pcs.) of the smoked salmon/cream/cheese caper (aka Philly Roll) (9/10), sweet potato tempura (8/10), and spicy tuna (5/10). All that for $73 not including tip. Would have been about $30-40 more without the HH discount."

  • "We had great service and good food, at a steep orice. We sat overlooking the river nad celebrated a birthday there, so it was nice for the occasion, but pretty pricey. We've been there before and they seem to have taken away the sushi menu, but the asian fusion entrees were tasty."

  • "I dined at Grace's Mandarin recently during a mother-daughter getaway. The ambience and decor is equally as yummy as the cuisine. Everthing was delightful, and the service was friendly. Reservations were very easy to make through Open Table, and we were treated very nicely from beginning to end. The menu offers something for everyone, and the dishes are large enough for 3 adults to share. My daughter loved her kid's meal of chicken dumplings, soba noodles, fresh berries, and a homemade cookie. The rest of us ordered the mixed vegetables, Indonesian fried rice, Whole Rockfish with Thai Basil Sauce, a spicy tuna roll, and a yellow fin with jalapeno roll. All of it was amazing! I will definitely go back!"

  • "Have eaten at all three locations. The National Harbor location is just an amazing decor ... very colorful, splashy and still very attractive. They do have some of the best Asian dishes I've ever eaten. I recently had the whole fried rock fish, and did not find it up to Grace's usual standard. The curry sauce with it was excellent. Service is always on top of it's game."

  • "Excellent service. Mandarin chicken entree had the right amount of spice and was very good. Szechuan green beans were the perfect side dish. Nice mix of families, couples and larger groups from Gaylord event."

  • "It's a beautiful place, great service, but over priced."

  • "Nice atmosphere, amazing decor...beautiful view, but the food is pretty expensive and nothing special-just like most restaurants at the National Harbor. I had the Duck Wrap and my husband had the Hawaiian Chicken. The Duck Wrap was swimming in heavy, salty sauce, you can barely taste the duck. Duck has a distinct taste and shouldn't be hidden by heavy sauce, unless its low quality duck. My husband was surprise at the low quality chicken they use on the Hawaiian Chicken. You can get better chicken in sandwiches at Panera Bread! We did like the vegetable dumplings, which seemed handcrafted. I enjoyed one of their specialty drinks called the Jade."

  • "There was a big crumpled up piece of paper in one of our dinners. We tried to tell the waiter- but due the language barrier he didnt quote understand what we were trying to say. Eventually, the manager came over."

  • "In addition to the magnificent ambiance and location/scenery, Grace's food was amazing! I ordered the lamb chops and they were the best I've ever tasted!! I'll be spending many days trying to duplicate the tender, succulent garlic-flavor of those lamb chops. I can't wait to go back and try them again. We also enjoyed our waiter who was very responsive and had a great sense of humor. I also thank the manager for recognizing my birthday with the lovely gift he presented me. Thanks Grace's...looking forward to next time!!"

  • "My husband and I dined here for Valentine's Day. Aside from how crowded the restaurant was, it was an extremely romantic setting. There was a pre-fix menu available and the options were all great. I ordered the shrimp and scallops dish, which was delicious. We had sushi for our appetizer and our rolls were fabulous. And the drinks were excellent. The waiter was a little missing in action but the restaurant was really crowded. We got our food promptly and there were no issues. Apparently you had to make a special request to get a table by the window, which overlooks the water. But the windows are large enough that we could still enjoy the view. Definitely looking forward to dining here again."

  • "I've been eating at Grace's Mandarin (and their parent restaurant Grace's Fortune in Bowie) for years and I can honestly say that I have yet to have a bad or disappointing experience here. The food is always amazing and the wait staff are extremely attentive to your needs during the meal. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal at National Harbor. I recommend the crispy beef!"

  • "The service was excellent. I ordered the lamb chops. It was very delicious. You may be left a little hungry if you are expecting a big meal. The dish comes with 3 lollipop style chops and I little dipping bowl size side of rice. I was a little perplexed how to eat this since no knives were given. I don't really like eating with my fingers but I did anyways. The meat was very tender and flavorful. We also ordered the lettuce wraps as a starter, it was a bit on the salty side but I am sensitive to salt. The pineapple duck comes in a half a pineapple. Very nice presentation. Definitely will come back."
