Diner Reviews
  • "Graceful Rose was truly a lovely experience. The ambiance was quite romantic and the food was excellent. The staff made our dining experience very special. I would highly recommend this venue and look forward to our next time there."

  • "I had my 7 year anniversary here with my fiance and I will forever remember this night! Our waiter's name was Nick and he was perfect all night. Kept the table clean and kept the food and drinks coming. He also asked if it was a speci occasion and we said yes and he brought over a small bouquet of beautiful mixed flowers. The food was excellent, fresh, and great for the cost! We will definitely dine here again together and with friends and family. It was truly and inforgettable night at a romantic restaurant with love quotes everywhere you look. The bar was also noticeably beautiful with beautiful lighting. It is a must see!!"

  • "A beautiful Summer evening, good friends to enjoy, and a new experience in Dining. We were NOT disappointed. After reading some reviews, I was a bit nervous picking this Restaurant. We were, however, greeted warmly, seated outside, which is a bit of a hike, and served delicious appetizers, Italian calimari, Baby Artichokes with Garlic aoili, and crab cakes. All excellent! for dinner we had Orichetta with sausage and broccoli Rabe, the Pork Chop and all were delicious. If you are looking for a fun atmosphere, relaxing environment, and great drinks, I recommend Graceful Rose in Port Jeff. We will definitely be returning to try more Menu Items in the future. And did I mention, Valet Parking, which is helpful."

  • "Food was a little disappointing, 2 of loved their food, two of us didn't. Service was slow, never was asked if we wanted more coffee, seemed as if they just wanted us to leave."

  • "Graceful Rose was an outstanding find. It was our first dining experience there and it won't be the last. Darren at the bar was the nicest person in the world and made us feel like royalty. There was beautiful, live, light music, which we love, in the bar area. The drinks were generous portions. The food tasted as good as it looked, and the staff was extremely accommodating. We left there extremely happy and we've been talking about our experience there all weekend long. Thank you Graceful Rose! Can't wait to see you again!"

  • "My Husband and I found Graceful Rose on Open Table and decided to give it a try for our anniversary. We had a wonderful night. The food was delicious from the Thai Calamari, Caesar Salad, The Scallops with Lobster that my husband had and the Zucchini with Clam Sauce(instead of linguini) was amazing! The wait staff took great care of us. We will be back!"

  • "I just keep finding myself returning to this restaurant for various reasons. The food of course being one of them, as I am addicted to the lobster bisque and shrimp and mushroom dumplings. But beyond the food is the atmosphere especially on a Saturday night at the bar. I've had the pleasure of listening to a young songstress Leah Laurenti several times and she is not to be missed. And the Saturday night bartenders area couple of real characters to say the least....check it out!"

  • "Had our 1 year Anniversary dinner here, very romantic. The food and service was excellent! The place is fancy and we had an wonderful view of the Port Jeff harbor."

  • "I must say the martinis are pretty awesome. The dinner was perfect and the left overs were even better. this place is quickly becoming one of our favorite local resturants."

  • "When on is wonderful somewhat erratic, for instance we ordered 2 calamari which in the past has been amazing, 1 came with plenty of sauce the other one very sparse sauce, not enough to flavor calamari, "

  • "Graceful Rose has it all - a gorgeous view, comfortable dining room, excellent attentive service, and most importantly scrumptious food and a great wine list. My husband and I dined at Graceful Rose twice in the past two weeks and both times we were greatly impressed. They had a very diverse "Restaurant Week" menu. We really liked that we were offered the option to upgrade a few menu items for a minimal charge (which we both did). Everything was cooked to perfection and the presentation was photo worthy. We highly recommend Graceful Rose! A big thank you to the Chef and Staff for an outstanding dining experience! We will be back soon. "

  • "Went on Restaurant week. Three course meal for $28.00. Requested window seat with view-not accommodated even though there were empty tables. Food was very good. Baked clams extremely small and not worth ordering.seafood was excellent. Cheese cake and bread pudding very good. Tiramisu desert very small. Very good table service. No elevator so not for handicapped-three flights to restaurant. "

  • "View is great, but food is just fair. The wait staff is not knowledgeable and the restaurant is noisy. The cramped tables cause patrons who sit with their backs to a passageway to get bumped often. The wood floors add to both noise and vibration throughout the meal. All and all, sadly disappointing."

  • "My post will be uber shortened due to the limitations imposed by Open Table. We dined during restaurant week and I was put-off by the numerous up-charges on the menu; 3 of the 6 1st course items and 2 of 5 of the main course offerings included up-charges ranging from $3 to 15$. This is NOT what restaurant week is about. The food was not impressive; It seemed like most of our items were prepared well ahead of time and reheated before being sent out. I liked the staff very much! They accomplished what MANY restaurants have great difficulty employing. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves but I might suggest adhering to the concept of restaurant week and offer the 3-course priced fixed menu at the restaurant week price; $27.95. Work on the menu!"

  • "I took my husband James and our three children to Graceful Rose, it was the spirit of the moment. I had such a wonderful time, the food was great the ambience was calming and the scenic view was breathtaking. My children had a wonderful time and truly enjoyed the food especially the baked clams. We are planning on going back soon and spending some time reflecting on the history of Graceful Rose. Irene B."

  • "Everything was good or very good, however, my first fork full of food I put in my mouth had a very long dark hair in it. I know this could happen in any establishment and I tried to hide it from the 5 other people at my table but they could not help notice me pulling a 12" hair out hanging out of my mouth. I did not mention this to the staff because I didn't want to make a fuss at the table. I kinda laughed it off, but it was pretty gross. The food was very good."

  • "My first time here and I was very impressed. The menu offered a nice variety and the price fixe menu makes things simple, if that's your preference. I had the Thai chili calamari and the scallops as my main, both were fantastic. Too often seafood is way over heated and my scallops were perfect. We had our 7 yr old and 9 month old with us and we were all graciously welcomed and accommodated. Any time were back in Pt Jeff, we're headed back here for sure"

  • "This restaurant was amazing, the manager tried to pick up the slack of our waiter....he seemed stressed. Our food was great, just wish it didnt take so long to get it."

  • "We've had many good meals at this establishment but on 4/11/14 the chef must have been elsewhere. Shrimp cocktail for $20 (4 very tiny shrimp), in the past you would receive 3 to 4 amazingly large shrimp. Ordered seafood special of 1/2 lobster, clams & shrimp sauteed in blah, blah, blah. The lobster was still in the shell, claw not even cracked and the dish was smothered in tomato sauce (definitely not sauteed). How can you sautee a lobster claw completely in the shell anyway. By the way, didn't even receive a shell cracking tool towork with. Apple cobbler with icecream. . .cobbler was colder than the icecream. Really bad dinner for two at over $225.00. Wine was good but they didn't have to prepare that."

  • "This is the second time we've been to this restaurant and they can't seem to get our order correct. Veal was ordered and steak came out. Food didn't taste bad but not what we ordered- they also rushed 2 courses that came out at the same time as the entree- there wasn't enough room at the table to hold everything. Probably won't return- Last time they ran out of the special at 7pm on a Saturday night. They gave half of those at the table the special- and didn't tell the others that they ran out of it until we asked where the rest of the dinners were ???"

  • "My wife's steak was supposed to be cooked to medium but came out well done. Needless to say that ruin a perfect meal to that point. To give the owners credit they offer to cook it again but wife did not what to eat her food after the rest of the table was done."

  • "The ambience was just right for a weekday dinner. We were out to celebrate after a school function and we all loved our food and the service we received."

  • "This was our first time at Graceful Rose, and we will probably be back. The service was attentive without being obtrusive. The atmosphere is serene and classy. The drawback is that the restaurant is located on the second floor, with no elevator service. And although it's close to the harbor, you can really only see the parking lot of the marina, but the food was good enough to make us try it again."

  • "I spent Friday night in Graceful Rose with my 4 girlfriends on March 7, 2014. It was our first visit there. We all were more that satisfied with this experience. Convenient location, big parking lot pleased us even before entering the building. Our waiter Jimmy was very polite and well-informed of the meals and vines in the menu, as well as the other staff. We all ordered different meals and everything was delicious. We all are look forward to dining there again."

  • "I went here on a Friday night with 7 others. Parking was a bit confusing. Apparently the lot next to the restaurant I parked in was not part of the restaurant. Oh well. Met my friends at the bar, which was bustling but lovely - drinks were reasonably priced and the bartender was very friendly. When we all arrived, we took our seats. The ambience of the place is really great and we all loved the huge amethyst geodes. We all got the prix fixe menu. Good size portions, really good food, really good price. We were not sure what to expect with this place, but all 8 of us enjoyed it and decided we would definitely come back."

  • "Three ladies out Saturday night, we chose many appetizers to mix. Two had the short ribs which was so mouthwatering delicious, just melted in your mouth. Accompanied by a classic Caesar salad except with a twist. Served as Romaine lettuce stalk was slightly grilled (loved that!) which gave great flavor with the classic creamy Caesar dressing. The iceberg salad just as good with tomato, bacon and crumbled bleu cheese dressing. The calamari appetizer was fantastic! Cooked to golden perfection and the pineapples/Thai sauce was "plate scraping" good! Could not stop eating the table bread as my favorite is the rosemary roll. A wonderful evening. One wish is the live music be toned down slightly so dinner conversation can be heard better"

  • "When you first enter you get a sense of an elegant, yet warm and intimate setting. We were seated so my date and I had a view of both the water and the stunning angel wings on either side of us. We were then welcomed by a charming gentlemen named Jimmy. Although my wine knowledge does not match up with the depth of their list, Jimmy walked me through it and made me feel as if it was second nature. His suggested wine wowed both me and my date. We ended up going with the Porter for 2. The presentation was matched only by the taste! Cooked perfectly, our chosen side dishes of cream corn and spinach paired amazingly. We then got lost in the cheesecake, which is a must try! Needless to say, GR is a top notch spot in Port Jeff and we will return!"

  • "Unfortunately, I will never go back to this restaurant. My wife and I were served 'well done' steaks after we asked for 'medium.' They took our entrees back and we waited 20 minutes for our food to be cooked again. After it came back out it was still cooked too much and we were not comped anything. We left the place very frustrated and will never go back."

  • "Celebrated with an early Sat. dinner. It was pretty empty, but had filled up 2 hours later. A prix-fixe had nice choices not usually offered on such, so we splurged on 3 dinners and took the rest home to our hubbies. Food was yum. Lobster bisque, crab cake app; a HUGE,delicious short rib entree and a more modest sea scallop dish with a sauce that tasted a tad like the bisque. Desserts were a standout. Service was impeccable. Our server was a complete professional who treated 2 women on a budget, with a gift certificate, drinking water, exactly the same as the folks next to us who were downing martinis and a bottle of wine. You CAN break the bank here, and if that's what you're used to,you may not think it's as good as we did. Neg=it got loud."

  • "Good view out of big windows, great food, and wonderful service, what fine dining should be, and time isn’t an issue. Very pricey, lacks vegan/ vegetarian options, however; an ideal place for that very special date night where money isn’t an issue."

  • "My partner and I had a fantastic post St. Valentine's Day supper served by professionally warm and attentive staff, from the time we walked in to when we left. The food was prepared to perfection and everything nicely balanced, Though it was cold and snowy outside, inside was warm, cozy and romantic!"
