Although we do not come here often enough, we appreciate the times that we do and that makes it a special treat for us. We also had reservations at another Port Jeff restaurant. It was very noisy by the other place, which made us choose Graceful Rose. We loved everything about it. From the moment you walk in, you know that a lot of thought went into this restaurant. It is beautifully decorated. This restaurant has atmosphere. That is key. I have been too many places, but there was something about this place that made it feel right. All of the food was great. I especially enjoyed the Thai Calamari appetizer. The main meals were great as well as the dessert. The cappuccino was fantastic and served piping not, which I find a rarity. The "birthday girl" was given a lovely bouquet of flowers by the hostess. The food (lobster bisque, shrimp cocktail, salmon), service and décor was outstanding. It's a beautiful restaurant. The owners have invested significant amounts of money to create an impressive ambiance which truly does impress. We were seated at a corner table near the window with a great view of Port Jefferson harbor which at night can be very scenic. The service was very professional, the food was very good but the noise level made it very difficult to carry on a conversation with our guests. Greeted by smiling faces all around, they made us feel as if we were the only people there (and we weren't). Food was exceptional, I had Blue Point oysters followed by New Zealand baby lamb chops. Everyone at our table thoroughly enjoyed their food and the experience. Interesting and inviting wine list as well. Service was top notch and the restaurant is absolutely beautiful with water views from everywhere in the dining room. It opened recently and thata why I had not found it earlier when reading reviews ans searching for a good long island restaurant. I got a little lost and called to say I would be late. She gave me directions and said its no problem. I was late because the address on thier website was a little off. Instead of west broadway use north broadway and it will take you right there. When we got there I was impressed that it was right on the water and the parking was great. The watress, food, and room were amazing. The manager even asked us what we thought. The moment we walked in we were welcomed by a smiling hostess and a very personable manager. The experience continued with a wait staff that was on point the entire evening. And the food was stellar. Most notable appetizers were the shrimp/mushroom dumplings and the carpaccio special. The entrees did not miss a beat either with a veal rib chop that was stuffed with prosciutto, broccoli rabe and fresh mozzarella in a marsala mushroom sauce as well as a (special that evening) branzino - as our waiter explained, a mediterranean seabass - that was delectable. The bar area is seperated from the dining area reducing the amount of noise (which is further reduced due to acoustic sound baffles tasefully integrated into the ceiling). We were given a table by the window, which afforded a nice view of the harbor. The cocktails were perfectly mixed, the food was absolutely delicious (the Thai calamari and Caesar salad for openers, with Louisana sole and Chilean Sea Bass as main courses, complemented with vegetables and risotto), delicious deserts and very attentive service.
