GraceGrace is a gem on Randolph. From caviar and chive in the first course to coconut and blue basil in the ninth course, (and who knows how many other ingredients in between), we felt we had an interesting and memorable dining experience. Presentation gets five stars. Service was professional and informative without being tutorial. Everything and everyone at Grace was top notch. I don't know if a tour of the kitchen is always offered, but don't pass it up if it is. We plan to return when the menu changes with the seasons.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGrace - A Terrific ExperienceThe food flavors were fantastic! The staff was professional with great attention to detail, but they were not pretentious in the least. Very friendly, relaxed and welcoming.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing Food. PresentationAmazing Food. Presentation must be seen in person to fully appreciate. Staff left nothing to be desired.4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had both the flora andWe had both the flora and fauna menus. The evening overall was great. The food was well presented, cooked, and seasoned. The only 2 negatives (1) cucumber course was bitter and sour and made me wish I switched that course (2) server at the next table brought the dishes to the table prematurely while another staff was still discussing wine selection with the customers and instead of taking it back, just stood at the table holding the food until the wine conversation was finished. At 3 star Michelin restaurants, the server would have walked right by without skipping a beat and taken the dishes back until the table is ready for the food. The attention to service can be improved. Definitely at least 1 star and maybe 2 but not yet a 3 star.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMDevine graceAmazing experience... The food Devine and vegartarian as well what a wonderful menu of 11 courses!
Can't say enough about the superb service and dining was delightful3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMYou won't be disappointed! We have dined at many amazing places, and Grace is certainly at the top of our list. The food was so unique and paired perfectly with some very special wines. The service was impeccable -- we will certainly return when we are in Chicago again!3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were greeted and seatedWe were greeted and seated at the table immediately upon arrival. Out waiting staff was thoroughly knowledgeable about food being served as well as wine pairing. Every attention to detail was observed.
It was gastronomical bliss!3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMHad the vegetarian tastingHad the vegetarian tasting menu was extraordinary. The selected wine pairings were not as good as the food. The setting and service were at the highest level.I look forward to returning.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMI have dined at almost allI have dined at almost all fine dining restaurants in Chicago including Alinea, and IMHO Grace is THE BEST RESTAURANT of them all in Chicago, or one of the best in the U.S. I live in New York and you Chicagoans are lucky to have Chef Duffy!! Every dish was carefully crafted, beautifully presented, and tasted amazing! FOH was also awesome! If you have a chance to visit Chicago, you should never miss this place!!!!2/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went for Valentines DayWe went for Valentines Day & just loved it!! I'm a picky eater. They accommodated us in everyday & even let us your the kitchen at the end. Not to mention, I'm NOT a drinker...the chef made 2 special fresh squeezed juices...one w/foam & 1 green. Wonderful service. I appreciated not sitting there forever like MOTO when your done eating, etc. Reminded me of Ailnea when we sent for my b-day, but I have to say just as good or better! Friendly staff-NOT stuffy like Alinea's mgr & really in-truly friendly, humble, hospitable & incredible! We will absolutely be back! Thank you:)2/14/2013 12:00:00 AMThe overall experience wasThe overall experience was great! I just think the food was average. It was too overdone, and really didn't allow us to savor each flavor. We just felt like they were trying to hard to be as good as Alinea, Moto, etc and just didn't cut it. I think they took an amazing, spectacular approach to to each dish, and then just went a little too far to make it really unique. Food was beautiful, just lacked that wow factor in flavor. Needless to say I was disappointed. Service was amazing though, everyone was incredibly friendly. I would have liked to have a takeaway wine list from our pairings, because the wines are really what shined, so I would have liked to know which ones we drank. Overall, worth the trip if you want to do that "experience."2/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
