Diner Reviews
  • "Food was good, air conditioner still not working properly, service was just so-so. Wine prices per glass are too high!"
    Dined on 7/11/2014
  • "We found Gourmet Gourmet on a recent vacation visit, and we will be back! The service was great from the moment we entered. And the menu is outstanding! We had the rack of lamb and baked corvina which were the specials of the day. Tremendous!"

  • "As always the food was delicious and the staff friendly and courteous. We loved the deserts , which we try to avoid, but couldn't resist!!!"

  • "The service was truly outstanding, the waitresses very nice and friendly to my wife and me, the food was really delicious and served promptly, and the soft, jazzy music was delightful to pass the time. And gthe prices were very good. The only thing keeping it from a perfect rating was that it was a little too hot and humid inside. I know it is Florida, but a couple more well placed fans to move air around would be great. Nonetheless, I would recommend it wholeheartedly."

  • "Really enjoyed the food & service was prompt & friendly. I had lobster and shrimp fettuccini, which was fantastic and my wife enjoyed a blackened mahi special. "

  • "Cute place nestled under trees and set just off A1A close enough to be convenient, but far enough back that you don't notice the highway when dining al fresco on their beautiful patio. You feel like you are dining in nature. The food was simply delicious. I had the jerk seasoned pork tenderloin with apple pear chutney. It was seasoned with just the right amount of heat with layers of flavors coming through. My wife had the local seafood special, which was a stripped bass in a very simple salt and pepper preparation and a lemon beurre blanc sauce. Also delicious. We took the owners recommendation and selected an Argentinian Cabernet that he was featuring. For just $45 it compared well to any Napa Cab. Excellent selection. "

  • "This is our third time in two months and we enjoyed the consistantly good food. This we were not given a little appetizer as we had in the past and no live music. However the food was wonderful. I wish there would be a bit more choice in specials. Perhaps add a pasta special to the two we had on the menu. Staff was polite and fast. Dessert portion if key lime pie was tiny."

  • "This restaurant never disappoints. The food is wonderful - homemade items abound! Have eaten there for brunch, lunch and dinner!"

  • "Surprisingly, we decided on a non-seafood meal for a night once we saw the menu. The foie gras was divine. The pear/grape/balsamic reduction was delish. If someone were uncertain about trying foie gras, this would convert him. Pork tenderloin is not a favorite to order out, but was also a great choice. Very moist. Perfect apple relish. The meatballs were my favorite. Huge, rich, and savory. We left fat and happy and eager to write a review. Friendly owners and eager staff. Came back to get a lunch to go. $10 sandwich will feed two. The Reuben was piled high and had no thousand island, but thankfully a yummy remoulade. I Would love to work my way around the menu...."

  • "Our dinners were excellent - both salads and entrees. The quality of the food was superb and cooked as ordered. The service was slow at first because they were busy, but once the waitress got to us it and served our beverages, it was fine. We will definitely return."

  • "This is a neighborhood gem for casual dining lunch or brunch."
    Dined on 2/22/2014
  • "My husband and I tried this place for brunch on a Saturday morning. I had the Croque Madame which was delicious and I highly recommend it. My husband had the Rare Roast Beef and Boursin on a Pretzel Roll, also delicious. Service was decentx our Server was polite and checked in on us as was expected. The prices are fair, however coffee is almost $3 which I thought was a but high for just run of the mil nothing special coffee. Other than that the experience was pleasant and I would go back. The food was delicious and lived up to and beyond the menu descriptions."

  • "The food preparation, presentation, quality and taste was excellent. The atmosphere is eclectic and somewhat noisy and open. The service was good but staff was not friendly. They were professional and attentive."

  • "Went for Valentine's Day, they had a special menu or you could order from standard menu. I appreciate being able to have a choice. I ate the scallops and they were some of the best I have ever had...perfectly cooked. My husband had the She Crab Soup and loved it. I also recommend the Key Lime Pie, I will go back, just for that! Our waiter was very accommodating and really knew his stuff. I highly recommend!"

  • "Great atmosphere. Upon our arrival, outside appearance is very deceiving. Once inside the quaint atmosphere made for a nice valentine's dinner."

  • "While visiting on Amelia Island, we forgot to make Valentine's Day reservations ahead of time. We went online and Open Table directed us to the 5 restaurants we could still get a table at. We picked this one and couldn't have done better if we had planned it a month ahead of time. While it was pricey, the way we were treated and the quality of the food made it worth it. This was a great place to share a special occasion."

  • "Great visit. Reasonable wine list and wonderful menu. I had the Halibut special and it was perfect. You should definitely try the brunch menu too. Fabulous outdoor patio that is pet friendly."

  • "We found this restaurant to be a pure gem! The food is high quality, unique and delicious! (best crust on a steak I have ever tasted!) The service was truly superb! And the atmosphere reminded me of a romantic bistro in Paris. I felt like I was on vacation while I was dining there! I'll be going back for sure! I think it may be the best restaurant on the island!"
    Dined on 2/13/2014
  • "My wife and I had a romantic valentine meal. The braised Italian short ribs were cooked perfectly and were delicious. My wife had a seafood entree with shrimp, scallops, and lobster which was perfect too. This is our third evening meal here, pleased each time."

  • "Have been to the restaurant about a year ago for lunch. We never thought if going for dinner but wanted to add another place to go on a regular basis. Really enjoyed the food. Service was slower than many of the restaurants we go to but did not mind since it was relaxing. Can't wait under warmer weather to eat outside. The short ribs were unbelievable and I had the lobster and shrimp fettuccine. Yum yum Chocolate cake was great. Not real sweet but lush!! Will def return!!"

  • "Some of the best food on the island, reasonably priced with a great wine list. Service was pleasant and attentive. Impressed a knowledgeable group of colleagues. Would definitely go back!"

  • "This was a very nice small restaurant. Very good food and attentive service. Great menu, lots of seafood, all very fresh. Nice area at the bar to have a drink"

  • "Exceptionally delicious food, attentive friendly service in a quaint setting, what more could you ask for? Oh, and what looked like very low markups on their wine list. We will definitely be back to dine again on our next visit to Amelia Island."
    Dined on 12/23/2013
  • "Another wonderful experience. A foodies paradise in elegant yet casual surroundings. I had the lamb osso buco special, which was braised to perfection. My wife had the chicken marsalla, which is really to die for. Needing a wine to pair with two such different dishes our server suggested the night's feature red, the Gavilan pinot noir, a Californian wine, done in the Burgundian style. It was perfect and truly did taste like a French Burgundy that would have cost much much more. The service as always was friendly and attentive. It seems like they really want to get to know you. The servers seem to be just as engaged with first time guests as they are with old regulars like us. Thanks again for another wonderful and affordable dinner."

  • "Hard to beat this place for breakfast and lunch, but..... Waitress brought the plates and the check; wine was never poured. No bread. Hard to believe at this level. Entrees would have benefited from at least a small vegetable serving; plates looked stark. On plus side, all three entrees were top-notch; excellent seasoning and cooked to perfection and as ordered"

  • "The two of us had a reservation and were seated immediately at a table with a lit candle in a cozy corner. The service was immediate, cheery, and attentive. We were informed that the head chef had quit earlier in the day, but the timing of the food and service only barely showed it. The food itself was phenomenal and their attention to our needs was gentle and well-paced. Near the end of the night, Bill came out and got our feedback and gave another apology, though we didn't feel the need. The creme brulee cheesecake was unreal and cannot be missed."
