Diner Reviews
  • "I found the restaurant boring. The food was good..But the service was horrible, waiters were not efficient or particularly friendly. Will not go back...."

  • "It's The best fod we have tasted, it was amazing. The service was god and The waitresses was so friendly and Nice. It was a really good experiance."

  • "I would not recommend as the wine list is SO bad I can not send someone for a nice dinner and expect them to find something to drink with their dinner. 20 selections by the bottle, the one that we had any interest in, by process of elimination, was either out of stock or couldn't be found. The list used to be wonderful, and it seems as if they took the twenty least appealing wines from the old list and created a new one to move them or something."

  • "Although the food quality was good and the preparation adequate, the total dining experience is underwhelming and does not match the pretense or expectations it promises. Beef Wellington (although an excellent cut of meat) should not be served in a soggy crust. Desserts were unimaginative and cocktails bland. Air conditioning broke down and doors needed to be opened during the evening. Service was casual to the point of inattentiveness. If you chose to add a 20 percent "service charge" to an already inflated bill for a party of six, at least have the grace not to boldly proclaim on the bill: "TIP IS NOT INCLUDED". Next time we will chose to spend several evenings out at lesser known restaurants in lieu of one over over-hyped dinner here."

  • "The food was mazingly fresh and flavorful. Lobster roll, Caesar salad, asparagus rissoto, filet, sea bass. Warning, all other restaurants might be ruined after eating here."

  • "Arranged for a small birthday celebration for my partner here. Having relocated from London thought it would be fun. Space is great, nicely designed. Service was excellent - very attentive. Food was divine! Portion sizes of main were good but starters were meagre so wouldn't waste time on those again. Overall great experience though."

  • "The food was great, service was excellent. My only problem was $8.00 for a cup of regular coffee and $6.00 for a little diet coke. I understand you pay for quality, but that is just ripping the customer off."

  • "First I will start with this. The food was great, everything cooked perfectly, seasoned well and exploded with flavor. That's where the good stops. I was looking to take my girlfriend out for a semi-quiet dinner and was unaware of the 'private dining', Big mistake. We were sandwiched between two other couples, one of which had two small children who were climbing over the booths, being loud and the parents did nothing to curb the situation. Nothing was said by the wait staff. I understand kids can be a little noisy, but blatantly using the tables and such a jungle gym at this level of a restaurant is unacceptable. Our waitress came up and was great to begin, then we hardly saw her after that. Overall I probably will not be back"

  • "A perfect dinning experience. The steak tartar was delicious! We ordered the fixed menu that gave a good selection of choices. Add this to your place to dine if you are in the LA area."

  • "Brought my bestie for her birthday as she love love loves GR. It was fabulous. Definitely have to go back to try the beef wellington. She doesn't eat red meat and it's served for 2. The apps and dessert were amazing and you have to get the dill rolls. The sea bass is the best I have ever had. Can't wait for an excuse to get back there!"

  • "I really don't want to say anything negative about it but unfortunately I have to. I'm comparing this meal to the two times we ate at Ramsey Steak in Las Vegas, and both of those meals were amazing, the Beef Wellington in Vegas blew this one out of the water. My wife and I were just not impressed at all, we were disappointed with the food"

  • "My family and I traveled from Alaska to enjoy Disneyland, Universal Studios, and Chef Ramsay's West Hollywood Restaurant. My husband was more excited about the dinner than the amusement parks! We are fans of Mr. Gordon Ramsay's and we were trilled to eat some of the signature dishes we have heard about for years and years. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a young lady behind the counter who was friendly and kind. She set us up in a private room, we had a party of 6, and we were excited that we had been given that opportunity. The food was spectacular! We had 2 lobster rolls, Delicious! Also a side of risotto, beef Wellington's and the scallops. LOVED the risotto! My kids had the PBJ and Chicken from the kids menu. They ate every bite!"

  • "This was my second time dining here, once a year ago and then recently. Last year, the food was fantastic and worthy of its reputation. This past time, it was a bit disappointing of an experience. The steak ordered was bland, the scallops were accompanied with popcorn bits and fancier items that was "ok" and the deserts were nice, but not as fabulous as we experienced in the past. The blue cheese bread was fabulous though. Service was friendly, but we left feeling a little underwhelmed compared to last year's dining experience. Maybe our expected quality bar was raised a bit too high from previously."

  • "My son and I had dinner at Gordon Ramsey's London West Hollywood on Father's Day. We arrived early for our 6pm reservation and didn't realize the restaurant didn't actually start seating for dinner until 6pm. There is a bar area where you can have a drink while you wait though we opted to just walk around the hotel and look at the amazing views. I should note that we dressed casually in khakis and sport shirts, but another party came in for dinner wearing ratty looking jeans and t-shirts, so I guess the "smart casual" dress code is very loose. The food was excellent and the chef even made a special request dish for me (risotto with scallop). The sticky pudding for dessert was amazing. Will go back here the next time I'm in L.A."

  • "Having a holiday in Hollywood is awesome but trying to find a great dining spot is difficult due to my wife's culinary tastes as she is a Chef . Gordon Ramsays hit the right spot and was a total success . The service was prompt and relaxing making it more like semi fine dining . We only had the signature dish Beef Wellington and this was a moment to saviour . Well presented with all the flavors needed to make this a 10/10 dish . Thanks for a great night"

  • "This was a great experience! A must-try restaurant with great food and ambience. I would recommend this location for a romantic night out."

  • "Very disappointed in the food quality. My daughter's chicken tasted boiled with bitter scoring. It was inedible. Peas were undercooked in risotto."

  • "We enjoyed the tuna tartare and lobster roll for appetizers. The salmon entree was cooked to perfection. The scallop entree was interesting but did not really need to have popcorn. The chef was obviously being playful with this dish. The toffee pudding dessert is highly recommended. There is room for improvement when it comes to service. For a gourmet dining place, we were expecting to have new flatware set before we were served our entrees but it did not happen. One of the servers (not our main server) was not careful when he placed my son's lobster roll on the table that part of the lobster meat slid and touched the table. The server did not even apologize and just left the food that way."

  • "We celebrated our 5 year anniversary with a quiet, special dinner and from the second we walked up to the hostess, she made us feel welcome and kicked off a very fun night. The service was good overall and everyone was very attentive. They personalized our dessert for us which added an extra special touch to the night. The only thing missing was Gordon Ramsey coming out to greet us but I don't think he was there that night."

  • "We've dined her many times and it has been a favorite. Something was off last night and I asked the valet on the way out what had changed. They indicated there was a new chef. I'm hoping this is very new they're working through some things... we really like the place, but the food was very bland. We had: Beet salad- still good/different, but good Ahi Tuna- okay. not very flavorful Risotto- very bland and virtually tasteless. Scallops- under cooked and very average Cod- dry with dry rice/ shrimp was tasty, but wouldn't get again Octopus- very good. Service remains outstanding. We'll try again in a few months. "

  • "We took our son to celebrate his USC Graduation; it was outstanding from beginning to end; we all had different dishes and all were outstanding the Beef Wellington the boys had was out of this world. Could not have been happier and you wont be disappointed. "

  • "The experience starts when you hand off your car to the valet. Fantastic venue, took the recommendation from the server on the Beef Wellington which was indeed done well. Good place for a romantic dinner as the dinning is quite formal and quiet. "

  • "Well presented, excellent portion size and a nice homage to Gordon Ramsay's British origin-shepherd's pie and sticky toffee pudding."

  • "I chose this place to celebrate my birthday this year. Excellent choice!! Started with the ample Lobster Roll. For the entree I chose the filet. Be sure to leave room for the famous Sticky Toffee Pudding!! Everything was served professionally and deliciously. I will definitely go back again."

  • "We were all very disappointed with our dining experience. There was hardly anyone else in the restaurant and it was dead and had no excitement. Even though we requested our meals be prepared without added salt, everything was very salty and oily and not well-prepared. A pasta dish was inedible as the pasta was not only al dente - it was hard and crunchy! No one really enjoyed their meal at all and expected much more from a top named chef. The decor was beautiful and the service was good, but it in no way holds a candle to all the other great restaurants in LA."

  • "Went here with my fiancee after seeing a show at the Pantages. We're both fans of Ramsay and I've been dying to try the Wellington for quite a while now. Needless to say, the meal did not disappoint. We had looked up the menu online first, so we already knew we'd get the scallops starter and wellington for two. However, the menu didn't have a scallops starter when we arrived and although the waiter said he'd check to see if the chef could make it, we just ordered the scallops main dish as a starter (it has 3 scallops). The scallops were perfection - perfectly seared and delicious. Same with the wellington. A perfect medium rare, it was more than enough for the two of us and made a fine dinner the next night as well. Highly recommended!"

  • "Food was good. It wasn't great. Nothing extraordinary. Menu is reasonably priced. Service wasn't very attentive. I had to call out the servers on several occasions to have my table cleared or to request for more water. "

  • "We were excited to try one of Gordon's LA spots as we are Vegas regulars. I was not impressed with the front of the house as their egos were way over the top but the food was worth it. The Risotto was perfect and the fish was one of the most flavorful we both have had in a long long time. We were pleasantly surprised as the LA food scene is lacking BIG TIME when compared to Las Vegas! We will be back! "

  • "We are avid fans of Gordon Ramsay and his television shows and our dream was to try the Beef Wellington for two which we did - it was amazing, as were our risotto and agnolotti appetizers. We had the chocolate dessert and the lemon tart which were also both wonderful. The layering of flavours and presentation were both stunning. Lovely venue in the adorable London Hotel right off Sunset Strip. The valet parking with validation is also very reasonable and great service. We were in LA for the weekend all the way from Vancouver BC Canada and it was well worth the special trip to this restaurant! Our only disappointment was no Gordon sighting! For fans of High Tea please note this is offered in one of the other venues at the hotel."

  • "We wanted to try a Gordon Ramsay restaurant and had our opportunity with a visit to Hollywood. The restaurant was centrally located. The restaurant is within a hotel, but one must search the place to find the restaurant. We were promptly greeted and seated quickly contacted by our servers. There was very nice music with a live performer. The staff was great. Seemed like a long wait for food and then when finished before plates cleared and check delivered. The food was average and the steak knife was duller than a butter knife. The experience was ok, but very expensive for just an average meal. Would not recommend this restaurant. Expected much more from a GR restaurant. NUTSHELL: Too expensive and not good enough meal. Sorry."

  • "The service was slow. The food was as expected: excellent. The decor was just okay. 50% of patrons there did not be long there, that's mainly why I'll not go back"

  • "Liked the nice view of downtown (it really depends of where you sit), and when the sun sets, the brass and blues of the restaurant's decor give it a very nice ambience...almost opulent. The upholstery is showing some wear (probably from the breakfast and lunch crowd from the hotel. I thought the bigger tables for large groups were ideal - a couple of extra rooms for special occassions too. The service was prompt, unobtrusive yet friendly. As far as the food, I thought it was over-salted or over-buttered. I think the restaurant really focuses on their signature dish (the beef wellington), which looked good (but we weren't in the mood). The mussels were good but everything else I had was forgettable."

  • "We ordered the bass ceviche type dish for our appetizer with an unexpected surprise of popcorn as one of the ingredients. The popcorn definitely did not compliment the other ingredients at all. We got the hanger steak, garlic rolls, beef filet & cauliflower. They were all ok except for the hanger steak. It was supposed to be medium rare, but the closer you get to the middle of the steak, it was mostly raw. Not rare. Raw. The meat was marinated with a bbq type sauce & what was really upsetting to me was the tomato sauce over the steak. It tasted like canned tomato sauce which i did not expect from a high end restaurant & especially on a steak. I did point out the raw meat & was offered a complimentary bread pudding & that was really good"
