Gordon Ramsay - West HollywoodRemarkably good foodOur experience exceeded our expectations-the ambience was average. For starters, the Crostini, Bone Marrow toast, Gnocchi and Steak tartar-were delicately flavored with the right accoutrements. Our entrees, the Filet with Duck fat fries, the Snapper Thai curry and the Beef Wellington were all excellent-the best Wellington we have eaten! Our desserts, the chocolate torte, lemon tart, pistachio crème brulee and the signature English Toffee were all excellent. It changed the perspective that uninteresting English food could be transformed with a delicate influence of other culture cuisines to provide an outstanding experience-only in LA? We will go back for the next special occasion. Food spotting would have spoiled the gustatory experience!6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMHe is entitled to be demanding!!!!!It felt like God himself decided to prepare a heavenly feast!
Somebody as perfect can demand perfection from others. Ramsey is special. So is his Kingdome in West LA.
Vincent with his magic skills waited on us in a invisible, smooth way, that it felt like we know each other for long time ! Super professional, wonderfull warm smile...Perfect!! Food! Art! I do not think there is space left for any improvement! Wine, appetizers or main course where an explossion of flavors on the palate! I am sure deserts and all as well, but I did not taste any ,but I sure will next time and next time and next time....People if you like fine food prepared to perfection have a dish and enjoy!6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food at a good priceA beautiful and stylish restaurant but lacking a bit of atmosphere and vibe. The service was good although the meal was a bit rushed (our starters arrived while we were still having out per-dinner drink/aperitif). We had the 3 course tasting menu with the tuna starter and the beef wellington being delicious. They offered us the choice of any dessert although this was not part of the deal. We asked for a glass of dessert wine which they did not have as they only sell by the half bottle. To their credit they opened up a bottle and poured us 2 complementary glasses. Overall a very pleasant dining experience.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing dinnerI brought my husband here for his 30th birthday and it was amazing! Service was outstanding, our server was friendly, was helpful with the menu, told us a little about Gordon Ramsay. The food lived up to every expectation, ordered filet. Everything was cooked perfectly and everything from the small plate appetizer to the dessert was fantastic. The dining room ambiance was beautiful with dimmed lighting and candles at the tables. We had a very memorable dinner. Would recommend this to everyone.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Birthday Dinner EverAmazing food, I loved the experience. The only downside was how quiet it was during dinner time.. felt like I couldn't talk ):5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMgreatYou can tell you are in a fine dining place. The service was impecable and the food amazing.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious food though veryDelicious food though very small portions. Made to share several different plates. The gnocchi was Devine, bone marrow toast was very filling but delicious. Table was ready right away. Very friendly and attentive service. Quite pricey but to be expected5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMmuch more than i expected.very niceexcellent on all counts. a must visit restaurant when in la.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMRamsey from Gourmet to BrasserieIs the demand for fine dining in West Hollywood on a fade?
This used to be my favorite restaurant to go for a real gourmet experience. The Ambiance is not to my taste, but that has very little to do with the outstanding service, huge wine list and a Sommelier for expert advise, that goes with it. All at excellent value.
Gordon Ramsey's name is still being used to attract attention. What goes on in the kitchen is no longer gourmet dishes, but brasserie style. With many dishes priced well below $20, this restaurant is still a steal, when it comes to value for those, who like to experience different creation and create their very own "tasting menu", which is no longer on the menu.
A 3-course Prix Fix menu is being offered.
Thumbs up!5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMnothing short of spectacularexpectations were high for a Gordon Ramsay restaurant. and they were exceeded. the food is somewhere between amazing and incredible. we did the tasting menu and everything was just superb. word of advice: although the duck fat fries were to die for, we should not have ordered them in addition to the tasting menu. that was too much food.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMVery niceI came here for my sister's bday dinner. I ended up waiting in the bar for my party for awhile. The scene was swanky with a nice jazz singer setting the mood. I enjoyed their tasty potato chips with my Riesling and took the scene in. When my party finally arrived, it took us a moment to figure out the menu as none of us had been there before. The plates are meant to be shared family-style so we stumbled with that for a moment. But once we made our selections, all of the food was pleasing to the eye and definitely tasty. We had our favorites but were very pleased overall. I particularly enjoyed the shrimp tortellinni and striped bass. There is a nice view of the city near the window; and the staff were very nice and courteous.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was delicious, excellentThe food was delicious, excellent service but it was quite empty to be a Gordon Ramsay's restaurant.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMRamsay offers world class dining!Ramsay at London was a great dining experience. The food presentation was beautiful. Too pretty to eat, but when the Beef Wellington got to the table, we had no problem devouring it. The lobster cake was very good. Lots of lobster! My husband and I ordered off the pre-fix menu and enjoyed every course.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGo for the experienceMy husband and I went to the London for our anniversary because we wanted to try a Ramsay restaurant since we are big fans of him. The food was good but watch out for all of the extra charges like bread and anything offered by the waiter but not listed on the menu. For example, we were told the beef wellington could be ordered outside of the tasting menu but ended up costing more than the items on the tasting menu, it was good but not worth the price charged. The service was good and the atmosphere was very romantic so I say go for the experience.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMSize and portion of food wasSize and portion of food was perfect, price and quality great! Loved the halibut and filet! Very well flavored .
Unfortunately our wine was delivered after salad and appetizer, the hostess was a bit off ! Otherwise everyone was super attentive and accommodating !!!
Ambience great, definite recommend!4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMSolid drink menu but Gordon'sSolid drink menu but Gordon's Fury lacks kick. The food is excellent although watch out for the cost of the a la carte Wellington. Overall I would absolutely go again.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMFan of Gorden's and have alwaysFan of Gorden's and have always wanted to try the Wellington and Risotto. Both outstanding!4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic food and unbelievableFantastic food and unbelievable service - well worth visiting.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWorth the drive!A little difficult to find this hidden gem, but worth the drive. Excellent wine list, and the Beef Wellington is to die for! Searing was prompt and service is attentive. If you're worried about cost this is not the place for you. 2 glasses of a mid level wine, and dinner for 2 came to $250 with tip. Valet parking is mandatory so expect to pay $20 to park plus tipping the valet. All in all worth the trip. Thoroughly enjoyed it!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a very good time, itWe had a very good time, it was nice that the food lives up to the persona. The wait staff was very good, Alex even got the bar to create a non-alcoholic drink for us which really made us feel welcome. We enjoyed our dinner, would go again.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a wonderful anniversary dinnerAs a true foodie,I was very excited to go to Gordon Ramsay's at the London to celebrate our anniversary. We had a fantastic dinner. The menu choices combine traditional dishes with contemporary, interesting offerings. Our dinner included beef wellington, blistered tomatoes with bone marrow, duck fat fries, roasted brussel sprouts, english toffee sticky pudding with brown butter ice cream.Delicious! Our waiter,Alex was sensational. He made super suggestions. This is a welcoming restaurant.I noted that shortly after we came in, a family with three children, clearly hotel guests, came in and just ordered dessert. They were treated graciously and it was clear that the children were thrilled with their delicious desserts. It was a perfect evening for us.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place was wonderful andThis place was wonderful and the employees there were very helpful and kind. The food came out fast and presented in an amazing way. I would definitely come here again!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGood, Not Great. While to experience was wonderful overall, there were definite highlights and areas of concern. Although we had reservations, we were still made to wait for 20 minutes - even with open tables, and had to wait about 10 minutes after being seated before the server came around. After being told that the plates were tapas- sized, my boyfriend and I decided on 2 plates each, plus the duck fat fries. The food was DELICIOUS, and they made a substitution of chicken for scallops on my gnocchi with no problem. The only complaint about the food was that for the price, it was a bit skimpy on portion. I completely understand that this was a fine dining situation, but had we not ordered the duck fat fries, we would've probably left hungry!4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAfter having read many reviews,After having read many reviews, we had some reservations about the experience we might have. We were at Gordon Ramsay on a weekday and we went early so the restaurant was quiet. Our waiter was delightful and informative, explaining the tasting menu and the fact that the menu was 'small plates.' We ordered a variety of items and two in the party did the tasting menu so they could share the Beef Wellington which is only prepared for 2. It would have served 4 easily! Everything we had was amazing. Ramsay's cooking style is noted for focusing on the natural flavors of the ingredients so it is prepared simply, plated exquisitely and tasted amazing. A memorable experience for all of us.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was served as a shareThe food was served as a share plate arrangement (not what we expected but was very good!). The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly. Completely different dining experience to the Gordon Ramsay @ the London in New York but definitely worth a try!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is all small plates,This is all small plates, which we did not know, and which can get pricey. The food was very good and beautifully presented, but the value was not there.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Restaurant in L.A., handsBest Restaurant in L.A., hands down! The food is delicious, the decor is impeccable and the service is amazing.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGood for FoodiesThe menu is great in that it offers a choice between the prix fixe and a selection of tapas style choices ideally sized for sharing between two. My girlfriend and I ordered 5 dishes which gave a nice range of tastes and that was adequate in quantity. Dishes near the beginning of the menu are smaller and near the end are larger dishes (price reflects this) but is mentioned because you want to balance between the smaller and larger dishes depending on your appetite. I think we could have done a few more (but had hit Pink's - recommended - earlier in the day). The wine list has a good selection in quality and price. Overall a great taste experience. Might be a celeb or two in attendance too.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGood.... Not Great... :-(Not to the standard we were expecting, but good food none the less. They seem to do the seafood dishes really well, and my pork belly dish was tasty. Our cocktails were yummy, the appetizers and main dishes good, but not excellent, and we were disappointed in the sides (especially the brussel sprouts). Probably won't go back to celebrate a special occasion again, but might just go for a casual dinner some night.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything delicious and veryEverything delicious and very professional and courteous service. The piped-in music was a little intrusive and a bit trite (hotel-lobbyish) - you could be much more creative with it and even hire a musician for the prices you are charging. An important restaurant nonetheless (our first experience with a Gordon Ramsey venue) and we'll be back.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMI was looking forward to tryingI was looking forward to trying a dinner at Gordon Ramsay and the experience was above my expectation. I have heard, watched and admired his cuisine for a long time since I can't find his cooking in Vancouver in Canada. His beef willington was amazing and apple tart was just heavin! We tried Apple tart, chocolate hazelnut bar, and English sticky pudding and everyone agreed that apple tart was the best! If you decide to hang out in West Hollywood area then you should try Gordon Ramsay! very impressive!3/17/2013 12:00:00 AM10 out of 10Best food I've ever had service was outstanding every worker we had contact with was extremely professinol and polite3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was very good. TheThe food was very good. The service was excellent!3/8/2013 12:00:00 AMA Solid ChoiceGordon Ramsay - West Hollywood did not go into my outstanding list of restaurants because I guess I enjoy food with a little more seasoning kick. Besides my personal taste, the food is very good, the service is very good and the drinks are very good. The Wellington dish is a must (very filling so don't each much before it). Definitely a romantic place for a special occasion or a nice place to go have a few well made drinks at the bar.3/2/2013 12:00:00 AMBeef WellingtonFix price menu was perfect ! Beef Wellington was THE BEST !2/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
