Gordon Ramsay at the Londonworld class restaurantIt's a very nice restaurant, good food and good service indeed. Strongly recommneded.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMSpectacular! My niece and I thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Gordon Ramsey at the London. Every single thing about it ( food, service, ambiance, kitchen tour) was spectacular!6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food...and service!!!Chef Ramsey's staff are on point with food preparation and service. Creative approach to Chef's menu with choice of 3, 4, or 7 courses with or without wine pairings. We elected to do the wine pairings which while they were creatively selected Provence wines, none was memorable. Area's for improvment include a much needed improved wine list to match the impeccably prepared food and precise but friendly srevice, and Chef Ramsey needs to consider an interior update, it's just not a warm and comforting environment particulary after entering through the viabrant bar scene at Maze.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMfood was outstanding. servicefood was outstanding. service was impeccable. my only issue is the dated decor.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstandingThe food and ambience were beyond amazing...the braised pork cheeks were so moist and tender that as soon as you put the fork in it it pulled apart the courses were excellent and the scenery was perfect6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding experienceMe and my wife celebrated our Anniversary at this place and I have to say that it is one of the best dining experiences I've had. Food was out of this world and a premier service and attention to detail make this venue ideal to celebrate special occasions.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMOverpricedEverything you would want in a NYC French restaurant but way too pricy. $500 with a bottle of wine takes away any good experience. Fine dining is well worth the money but not when you feel that you could have had a better meal somewhere else for half the price.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food experienceBest food I have ever tasted. A bit stiff ambience in the dining room, and a bit quiet. But the waiters and the food was extraordinary!5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding!Gordon Ramsay's attention to detail shows in this outstanding restaurant! The dishes were all perfect, complex and full of flavour. The staff was attentive but not overbearing. The sommelier was incredibly knowledgable. Everyone should experience one or Ramasay's restaurants at least once in their lives - it was a wonderful experience.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMBirthday DinnerI booked for a Saturday night about 6 weeks in advance - and I couldn't even get the time that I really wanted! So book in advance! The service was great. It was definitely an entire dining experience! There really aren't that many tables in the space, so it definitely feels more intimate. We went with the 3-course a la carte menu. I had the lamb which was unreal! All the food was amazing. The wine was great too - I didn't do the 3 course pairings, but I did ask the sommelier to choose a wine to go with my main and he did a great job! Overall it was an amazing experience and I highly recommend it. Our night ended up being just over $400 with tax and gratuity and everything. Well worth it!!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWow awesome foodHands down the best food I have ever tasted...excelent all the way around...staff was super nice and pleasant.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMIncredible ExperienceFrom sitting down, to the wine selection, to the final course of chocolate, the service, assistance and the plating of our food was absolutey amazing.
And to top off the night we had a tour of the kitchen!
Very nice.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMA foodie experience.A beautiful restaurant fit for a special occasion. For the price, this is not a restaurant we would visit on a regular basis but it was something to enjoy and savour once in a while.
3 amuse-bouche to start: an avocado shooter, a hamachi spoon and a chef's offering; a complicated bite with cucumber, tomato and gin.
The warm bread was addicting. With 3 choices, we chose the pecan cranberry roll and were not disappointed!
We chose the scallops and the special appetizer of white asparagus with lobster. Mains were lamb and veal medallion. Dessert was chocolate soufflé and chocolate mousse. The soufflé was perfection!
Favourite parts of the meal for me were the avocado shooter, the scallops and the soufflé. And the bread!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect place for special occasionWe made reservations a few weeks ago for pre-theatre as well as celebrating a 50th Birthday. We arrived 15 minutes late due to horrible traffic but the staff was incredibly accomodating given our time issues. We did the 3-course menu which was perfect. The fois gras, which we miss being from California, was stunning especially with black truffle. Yes, it was a bit pricy and a jacket was required, but it made the evening all the more special. The service, too, was incredible and well orchestrated. In the end, we did not mind paying for such a well designed dinner and service. If, however, you would like a more casual atmosphere, the bar area was larger than the dining room and had a great energy.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMA feast for the sensesHad dinner with my two daughters, one of whom is a vegetarian. We chose the five-course menu, two vegetarian, one regular. The ambience is superb, the noise level was low, so conversation was quite easy. Service was impeccable: friendly, very attentive (but not smothering), very knowledgeable. The pace of the meal was perfect, as were the portions. The food itself ranged from delicious to spectacular. Particularly outstanding: White Onion Veloute, Potato Rösti, Seared Hamachi, Colorado Lamb. We tried 3 deserts, all excellent, but the Cocoa Nib Soufflé with Coffee Ice Cream was the favorite: the soufflé was light as air and paired perfectly with the intense coffee ice cream. At the end they even gave us a ten-minute tour of the kitchen.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMSomeone got it rightWe recently visited from Melbourne Australia where we're spoilt by an abundance of really good dining restaurants.
Gordon Ramsay at the London was as good as it gets.
Food, service outstanding.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMA must try. Scallop appetizerA must try. Scallop appetizer was delicious as was the white asparagus with lobster appetizer special. Everything was perfect. Left with a tummy full of some of the best flavors ever. Make sure to save room for the bonbons at the end! Will definitely go back next time we are in NYC.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMNot quite there....All in all, our dining experience was ok...BUT...being as high profiled as GR is I'm a bit upset that I felt like being mesured up and down like "you must have saved up a long time to afford dining here". Little did they know that both my husband and I both travel a lot, and actually know a great deal about food and wine. If they had asked a simple question like "what bringes you here", they could have saved us and themselves that embaressment. When we sent back one of the dishes we got noticed, and the service became what it should have started out to be. But again....The overall experience was good, and I want to point out the duck: absolutely excellent!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AM"Fancy Date Night"My fiance and I decided to splurge and go to the London for a "fancy date night". We watch Gordon Ramsey's television shows and cook with his cook book at home so were definitely fans of his before, but actually having such a wonderful experience at one of his restuarants has made us appreciate his culinary expertise even more. The service was impeccable and the food was brilliant. We are looking forward to going back to visit the cokctail lounge next and will definitely come back to the London restaurant for our next special occassion. All around it was a wonderful experience!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazingThe food was fantastic. Romantic. Expensive but unic!5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMLove the placeWe my girl friend and I love our food and this place stood up to it, we has a taster type dinner and it was so nice, the service was exalent and the chocs where to die for. Price you get what you pay for and here it was worth it.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMBlown AwayWe were immediately seated side by side at a lovely table which allowed us to view the entire room. Decor is very elegant and from the beginning, the several professionally trained staff were absolutely wonderful. Champagne appeared almost magically from a well-chilled cart and was most welcome.
We were presented with menus - I had already read online and knew that the choices were 3 or 5 course pri-fixe menus. We chose veal and lamb tenderloin. Wonderful amuse-bouches appeared, sommelier was very good. I had the best ricotta mousse EVER. The man who served the cheese course to my husband was very knowledgeable. As fine as Europe to sum up!
This restaurant is definitely worth the money!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat ExperienceVery special place to dine. Spacious room between tables made it feel very private. Taste buds are still doing flips over the meal. Had the Prestige Menu with the wine pairing. Partner had the duck and said it was the best she has ever had. I had the lamb and it was cooked to perfection. Pre Dinner drinks (at table) and surprise desert selection of chocolates and other pastries, which were superb, were included in the meal price. Cannot fault this restaurant.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding place!!Highly recommended
A great experience!
We enjoyed every moment, and the food was magnificent.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAs great as it getsI have been here many times and will go still many more -- and with many more -- to experience the consistently delicious and artistically prepared cuisine of Chef Markus Glocker and the impeccable service and delightful company of this staff. I locked in on a couple of stunning dishes here but the staff encouraged me to expand my horizons with their own passion for the food and I discovered that every dish was superb... so now the entire menu is my favorite. When asked what dishes I recommend, I have to say, "all."5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMLived up to the Ramsey reputationThe food was brilliant without being pretentious. The attendance to detail was perfect. Never felt rushed, and never was without a chef's taster in between courses. I would highly recommend it and will definitely be back...5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMA wonderful evening dinnerThe restaurant staff were very welcoming from the start.
A choice of A la carte (3 course) or a Prestige (5 Course set menu) sampling menu.
We choose the A la carte and were not disappointed. The food (scallops to start, lamb and veal for mains and soufflé for dessert) was amazingly cooked.
The textures and tastes were faultless.
If you are looking for somewhere special to go and don't mind splashing out a little, then this place is the right choice.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AM4 critical diners were all pleasedOur entire group thought the meal was outstanding. The food was inventive and delicious. We found the ambiance of the room perfect. It is simple but elegant. The room was refreshingly quiet making conversation very easy. Service was quite good. Overall a fine dining experience but not inexpensive.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a wonderful experienceWhat a wonderful experience ,everything was so elegant and delicious. It was a great food experience4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic! This restaurant is a real treat. The food is spectacular as is the service. Pricey but worth it for a special evening.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat for a special occasion-great for a special occasion- lovely dining room- intimate (although a little too cold). Service impeccable and as I have come to expect from the Gordon Ramsey experience.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMAlthough this restaurant andAlthough this restaurant and Gordon Ramsay have been knocked, I have to say the service and food were deserving of the Michelin stars. A fantastic night which was capped off with a wonderful ending.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had an amazing time. ItWe had an amazing time. It was a girls night out a total of four.Great food, wonderful service, we will visit again. It was pricy but worth every penny!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMDon't be disturbed when youDon't be disturbed when you first walk in and see a very loud, casual place with a ton of people wearing t-shirts and yelling across the room at each other. You are in the lounge, not the restaurant! Restaurant is behind the lounge and is small and elegant, with a wonderful tasting (prestige) menu.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThe best dining experienceThe best dining experience I've ever had. Second to none3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMImpeccableImpeccable would be a good way to describe the food and service. The restaurant is beautiful inside. The staff are very informed and made the night explaining the food and drink.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMIt Seems a cool restaurant,It Seems a cool restaurant, but it hasn't the value of its price3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent theater districtExcellent theater district location, excellent service and excellent food although my monkfish entree did not have much taste. My friend's duck entree was superb! My fois gras was incredible also as well as our dessert, tarte tin (sp?). The wait staff was impeccable and allowed us to come back after the theater to have the rest of our wine and dessert, a great concept to finish out a lovely evening! I will highly recommend!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was perfection. The food was perfection. It's all that I would have expected from this
Restaurant and more.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMRamsay knows howExpect to spend a tidy sum, go for the Prestige Menu, the experience is worth it. Ideal for a special occasion, quite well placed tables for two, with chairs that swing around (nice touch). Larger parties are accomodated too. Excellent wine list, near impeccable service. Mellow lighting and whisper quite intimate atmosphere. Last but not least the feast (pun intended). If you have food allergies or restrictions don't go there. Very small portions served at appropriate intervals, bearing melding flavors and textures, composed of ingredients quite rare, the spectrum of which diffuses in your mouth. There is also a vegetarian variation. As you may have noticed, we immensly enjoyed the ambiance, the food and the service.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AM41st BirthdayFood and Service were excellent. Thanks to my wife and the staff for making my 41st birthday the best birthday I ever had.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
