Diner Reviews
  • "I have dined in Gordon Biersch locations in many places I have lived, and always find the service friendly and attentive. The Midtown location is no exception. There's a wide variety on the menu, with many good items. I particularly like their small bites, incl. seared ahi tuna (appetizer or salad), sliders and burger. A few dishes I would skip, such as their garlic fries, which are a garlic-overload, even for garlic lovers. I also find their marinated/teriyaki steak dishes to be heavy handed with marinade to the point where the beef flavor is overpowered. Their beers are good, as you would expect from a brew-pub, if somewhat limited in variety. I find the wine options decent and cocktails well made. This location has nice outside seating. "

  • "This is a favorite of ours before FOX performances. Food for the picky eaters yet still interesting items for those who are more foodies. Great service!!"

  • "Food was delicious but the prices were a little high"

  • "My friend and I went to dinner prior to a show at the Fox. The food and drinks were delicious and the staff was super friendly."

  • "Great place to eat before the show. Just three locks fom theater. Good food and service."

  • "We had lunch and had a great meal. Our server made sure we were out in plenty of time to walk down to the Fox. I will definitely do this again"

  • "Looked forward to dinning with friends at Gordon Biersch , unfortunately the experience did not meet my expectations. The service was ok, but not anywhere near great. We had to ask for too many things where the server should have asked us if we wanted the usual items. The quality of the food was below average. The chicken was "rubbery" in one order. My fish was overcooked & dry; the batter was too thick, more batter than fish. The the entire experience was very disappointing."

  • "I went to this restaurant a few days ago and most likely will be my last, the over priced food doesn't match the quality. The only good thing was the sweet potatoes we had for appetizer. We ordered a flat bread but instead we got a greasy pizza that looked like it came from the frozen section of a grocery store. We also had the beef medallions, which we ordered rare, but came out so well done that we couldn't bite into it. The asparagarus that came with it had little to no flavor. The waitress never came to check if the food arrives ok, reason why we didn't return it. She came to the table about 15 minutes later and said "looks like you guys were not hungry" which I reserved any comment. On top of all that we have to pay $3 to park."

  • "While we had a good enough time, the food is average. There is a great variety of food similar to a Fridays so no problem finding something. We would go again when in the mood for casual."

  • "I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. It was a really nice place. It was also great that there were pool tables on the second floor. That's a nice addition because it gives the patrons something else to do and they are not right next to other people that may be eating or talking loudly. My server was mediocre at best and she gave me the wrong amount. She owed me some changed but instead she decided to round down to the nearest dollar so I was short. Other than that, it was a good time overall. Nice place for lunch."

  • "What a great choice after a shopping trip at a very busy IKEA. While waiting for my purchase to be picked and delivered to me, I opened OPENTABLE to decide where to go. We made quick reservations at GB and what a great choice. The beer sampler hit the spot for my bother-in-law who was dragged along in our shopping expedition! There was a great burger, chicken sandwich and salad chosen at the table and we loved them all equally!! The garlic fries were superb!"

  • "My farewell lunch was excellent! The food is delicious! They didn't seem to have space for a large party; but we managed"

  • "Gordon Biersch is my favorite go-to location for business meetings. I know that we will have ample room to spread out and that the food will be amazing. Our server, Anthony, was attentive and made sure that we were comfortable since we were there for several hours. I recommend the restaurant to many of my clients for Rehearsal Dinners, Bachelor Parties, Engagement Parties or any other special occasion. I can't wait for my next visit!"

  • "This restaurant is a safe pick for families and large groups with a wide range of tastes. Food is good enough and there is something for everyone on the menu. Due to location, etc. the food and beverages are definitely not cheap. The pour on a glass of wine is pretty stingy. It's a decent place to go if you need to get dinner before going to an even downtown; easy to get in and out of with valet parking, etc."

  • "Food and beer good although menu somewhat pricey given what's on it-I've been there 3 times before shows at Fox -the parking is best deal around as it's a six block walk to theater-3 bucks to park-2 of the 3 times the service has been iffy at best-twice I had to find waitress-once I simply gave up and left-if it's crowded find another place close-if not it's a good spot before a how"

  • "We had a 730 show at the Fox, ate here at 545 and got to the show in plenty of time. The turkey burger (not your average turkey burger!), lobster tacos, and garlic fries were all deelish. The Czech Pilsner was very good. Recommend for pre-show especially if you have children with you and don't want anything too overwhelming for them."
    Dined on 3/20/2014
  • "I chose this restaurant because it was close to the Fox Theater, I had 7:30 show tickets and arrived at the restaurant at 5:30 that gives you time to park without dealing with show traffic and then walk, less than 10 minutes to the theater. Ok, now for the menu. There is something for everyone, even if you are vegetarian (not that I am one). Had the goat cheese, walnut and arugula appetizer which was awesome! Fish tacos were good, not great only because the fish which could use a little more kick was overpowered by the 2 taco shells, a soft and a hard (next time I will ask for only the soft). The person dining with me ordered the "lighter" chicken creole which was still a very large portion but seasoned to perfection."

  • "On the few occasions I've eaten at Gordon Biersch, I've walked away thinking how great everything tasted...from appetizers, to main meal, to beer, to dessert. While I've only been there a handful of times, I've never been disappointed with the food or the service. The vegetarian in our group reports that while there are only a few items on the menu for the non-meat-eater, the garden burger was the best he's ever had. The ambiance is comfortable; a lot of booths for 2, 3, or 4 people make it more intimate. The noise level was low during the early evenings of my visits. And the service has been spot-on."

  • "Stopped for quick dinner before show at Fox. Great place for a light dinner. Lots of choices. Food was tasty and nicely served. Get there early. The place fills up quickly."

  • "Not a bad place to visit. The food was good, the Ahi was a tad bit too salty. The drinks were good, and boy are they proud of them. I'd go back, but gotta save up for a few weeks first."

  • "Very good location within walking distance of the Fox. A nice walk after dinner to help settle the good food. We will return."

  • "Great food. Made reservations so got seated right away but felt like our table was stuck out in a walkway and cramped for 3 people. Enjoyed the meal very much and service was good. Somewhat loud."

  • "We took 20 people there for dinner on a Saturday night before a show. No problem seating us at 2 tables for 10. Reservations were simple through Open Table and the hostess was friendly when I called with a question. The servers took our orders deftly and the food arrived quickly. The food was good and the portions were just right. The prices are reasonable too. Very happy with our choice. A smaller group even went back for drinks and dessert after the show. The triple brownie is excellent. And the cucumber cocktail was a hit. I have been there for lunch many times and will continue to return, both in large and in small groups."

  • "Once again, Gordon Biersch did not disappoint. We had dinner before going to a show at the Fox and it was just great. The place was bustling, but our server did an incredible job of keeping things moving and making sure we were out in time for the show. I just love the Golden Export (their lightest beer), and the southwestern eggrolls are divine. I had the stir fry which was really tasty, filling, but light and ended the night with a hot brownie and ice cream. I just love this place, it's always dependably delicious."

  • "They didn't have my reservation, but managed to find us a table. Then when it came time to order, I ordered the fish sandwich and she told me they were out of fish - I feel like she should've mentioned that earlier. Then we had to track her down to order dessert and get our bill even though she knew we were trying to get to the Fox. Overall, the experience was fine, but not really good in any way."

  • "Our group ranging from 15-30 always has a wonderful experience dining at Gordon Biersch's. We go to the Fox - 1-2 X a year and the best place for us to eat prior to the show is Gordon's. The hamburgers, garlic fries, salads, sandwiches, light dinners and beer are excellent. You can also valet park there, go to the theatre and claim it after - it's about 4 blks to the Fox. I highly recommend it. Never had a bad experience yet. Have been there about 7X now."

  • "We were greeted right away at the host stand and by our server. Server had great understanding of the in-house beers. Tasted great too. Wonderful and varied menu--something for everyone. My wife had BBQ pork sandwich, I had shrimp and lobster tacos. Would order them again. Great experience."

  • "Slow cold food. Service was good. Where we sat was very noisy. Many of the diners appeared to be going to the Fox theater which probably overwhelmed the kitchen"

  • "This place was awesome. I got the lobster and shrimp mac n cheese. The chocolate cake was amazing, and our server was nice as well. Great place to eat, first time there. Already recommended this to a couple friends. Its pricy, but very very worth it. I will be back!"

  • "We always have lunch at this restaurant whenever we come into Atlanta to attend a matinee at the Fox Theater nearby. Everything works. The location is perfect. The menu is diverse - with plenty of seasonal specials. The food is excellent. The service is superb. There is parking. We have purchased season tickets at the Fox for several years now - driving in from Augusta to enjoy lunch at Gordon Biersch and the show at the Fox. A perfect Saturday."

  • "Delicious way to enjoy a meal and beers before going to a show at the Fox. I also appreciate the free appetizers I can enjoy because I am a season ticket holder at the Fox!"

  • "I requested a menu for my wife - vegetarian and glutton free - the restaurant was most helpful and provide a very tasty meal that my wife enjoyed very much. We arrived on time, by our reservation, and was seated at once. Most impressive considering the place was jumping with eager patron anxious to eat and get to the FOX. We were in no hurry and enjoyed our meal and drinks. I must say, the bartender creates a mean Manhattan, almost as good as my own creation. :) I recommend your accommodations with no qualms. However, the only small complaint I have; my steak was a tad salty, but I attribute this to the fact that I have very little salt in my daily diet. Well done and thank you for a most enjoyable night."
