Our first time at "Good" was very satisfying. We went on a Sunday night and it was a pleasure to have an experience that was relaxing and delicious. The cornbread was not your everyday cornbread - delicious and much better than bread and butter typically served. We thoroughly enjoyed our Lamb burgers and especially the chick peas fries. Unique!! Ignore the calories and order the homemade fries. You won't regret it.

Res dept a bit inflexible for brunch Wanted 10:30 told must be there at 10. Place 1/3 full when left at 11 they could have been more accomodating. Bread on chix sandwich too tough when toasted - Baked eggs yummy but needed salad/bread to cut heaviness and soak up extra sauce. For those prices a basket of sweet baked goods should be included. Cocktail passion mimosa tasted like juice only. Wont go back or recommend.

  • Tasty brunch; sub-par desserts

The cheddar-and-broccoli omelette was delicious; very cheesy and packed with bits of broccoli and mushroom. The waiters were also very attentive. However, the dessert selection was limited and the dessert I ordered -- the Milk Chocolate Semifreddo -- was very disappointing. I was anticipating delving into the good-sized portion, only to find the chocolate cookie was dry and tasteless, the ice cream lacking in richness, and the topping a garden-variety sort of pudding. Definitely not worth neither the price nor the calories. The receipt also seemed off -- suggested tips were higher than the math actually works out (even after adding tax). Music was a tad loud.

This restaurant has been in this spot for a long time, and it keeps getting better and better. With an interesting menu and often locally sourced food, it provides a delicious meal wonderful for vegetarians, carnivores and all in between. The only reason for 4 stars rather than 5? Their meat and poultry is locally sourced and natural without antibiotics, but not grass-fed and guaranteed free-range and pasture raised. That is becoming more and more an essential for me and other local diners. Add a resourcing of meats to free-range and 100-grass-fed beef and GOOD will, in my book become a strong contender for best restaurant in the area.

GOOD WAS GREAT...THE DRINKS WERE GENEROUS, THE SNACKS JUST AS 'GOOD'...VERY FRIENDLY, PROFESSIONAL. GOOD SEATING, ENOUGH SPACE SO THAT YOUR NOT SITTING ON TOP OF SOMEONE ELSE OR PART OF THEIR CONVERSATION. THE FOOD WAS VERY GOOD...TASTY, WELL PREPARED AND CERTAINLY WELL PRICED! I WOULD GO BACK THERE AND BRING MY FRIENDS...WHICH I DID THIS TIME..NEW FRIENDS SO THAT THEY CAN EXPERIENCE IT AS WELL...OUTSIDE IS COMFORTABLE BUT I PREFER INSIDE SEATING IN THE SUMMER. IT WAS SOMEONE'S BIRTHDAY SO THEY PUT CANDLES IN DESERT AND SANG WHICH I THOUGHT WAS A NICE TOUCH...THEY SENT DRINK OVER TO BIRTHDAY PERSON..

  • Good, not great, just bland

    Dined on 7/19/2014
The food was bland. Did the chef not taste any of the food coming out of the kitchen? I got the green chili Mac and Cheese and you'd think if it was green chillies, that it would have ANY spices or flavor or anything. I had to send it back for the the salmon special of the night. Maybe that's the issue, they make the regular menu not so well so you are forced to order the specials of the night. The "marinated" olives appetizer was just as bland. HOW do you remove flavor from olives? The food was absolutely and atrociously bad. I didn't want to try the dessert and instead opted for Rocco's on Bleecker to salvage anything of the night. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone with a palate or who likes well-seasoned food.

One of our go-to neighborhood standbys. Always pleasant, quiet and comfortable. Our special spinach and chicken soup was delicious. The salmon special was also very good and attractively plated. However medium rare burgers were beyond well-done, on the way to burnt. I'm sure they would have gladly cooked new burgers but we were hungry and it was getting late so we finished them. Until now we have had good meals there so I'll probably give them another try at some point

We went on a summer Sunday for brunch. Grandma, hubby, kids. The restaurant stressed their seating policy, that they only seat completed parties. My mother was late and the restaurant was about a quarter full, so they sat us after a bit. I appreciate when folks are not needlessly rigid. Once we were seated both the service and the food were pretty good. The bread basket was yummy. I had the BLTM and it was good. The pork belly hash and eggs was good, not great, as I'd heard. Oh, and I had a blood orange mimosa that I wished I could've followed with a few more, but I was driving. Womp womp. I'll definitely go back.

Had brunch on a Sunday afternoon with a few friends and we couldn't have been happier. The service was impeccable, the waiters and host were very nice and always asking if everything was to our liking and if we needed anything else. The atmosphere was very friendly and above all the food was amazing! I never tasted better food than at this restaurant. It is definitely one of the best Brunches I ever had and will definitely becoming again. The Breaksfast Burrito and Home Fries are definitely recommended!!

I had heard that the food is tasty at Good Restaurant and I was not disappointed. The dinner menu is varied and interesting and I had trouble choosing among all of the items I liked. We started with an avocado/pea mixture on sour bread toast and it was fantastic. Next, we ordered a watermelon salad which was just what you want it to be... fresh, crisp, lightly seasoned, delicious. The marinated pork roast I chose as my entree was wonderful. It was moist, nicely seasoned, perfect. And the service was professional and friendly. In all, a great experience!

As far as I can tell, the restaurant continues to honor one of Roc's most important principles regarding the visibility of its diverse waitstaff, and that is a big reason why I continue to patronize it--along with the food and service. Put simply, Good Restaurant is excellent. Food, wine, service, ambiance and location are all excellent. The only issue was noise level. We found this not unusual for the U.S. though. Good it is..the food, the service..just so friendly and professional. The bar is small but what a great small bar..the bartender is a good one with and good pouring arm! Knows his stuff...truly a neighborhood gem and now that I have rediscovered it I will make it my business to patronize it more frequently...I dont want this 'gem' to disappear like so many others. The chef is the owner so I know he will not be going any where nor should he...I recommend "Good' for everyone and any occassion.

I've eaten at Good for about 10 years, the food is always consistent, but seems to get even better with the years. Clever combinations of ingredients abound but never get too clever, as in, "I was excited until that last item on the list." Recently there, my friend commented that Good feels like the Village "used to" feel, which he missed. I agree on both counts. Another way it's like the "old Village" is seeing the same staff year in and year out, they're very good at what they do and very friendly about it too. Brunch is a mob scene, but weekday lunch is surprisingly quiet. The small bar area is a great place to have a nightcap with a friend when you're reluctant to part for the evening.

They were very nice about turning the music down but with food this good and a room this pleasant, what clientele might Good think it's missing out on by not having the music loud enough? Service standards have gone so low that one doesn't complain about such things as bus boys reaching over you to reach glasses they could easily reach from approaching the table from the other side or the loud clatter of glasses and dishes being cleared from the table but again, when you're eating such good food in such pleasant surroundings, you can't help but feel a but of a disconnect. The Willamette Valley Pinot Noir was excellent and a steal at half price (half-priced bottles Sundays 6-10 pm). Will definitely go back.

We had a decent meal, but nothing here really impressed. Most dishes were well-prepared, but very simple, perhaps even plain. Then there was the turkey scallopini... which was literally just a slab of fried turkey on a plate. Your Italian grandma would do a better job on presentation and flavor... feeding her dog. This is a decent place to take your un-adventurous, picky-eater grandma. But if you're looking for modern, creative food, keep looking. I will say the ambiance and service are nice.

I highly recommend Good Restaurant. I recently had dinner there with four of my friends, and we all really enjoyed it. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Two of my friends were running late, but we were still allowed to sit down at our table and order drinks, which I feel is pretty unheard of at nice NYC restaurants. I would definitely eat there again and plan on going for brunch soon because another friend told me it was great.
