  • "We had a wonderful time at Gonza Tacos and Tequilas! We did not have to wait with our Open Table reservations...were seated immediately and enjoyed a fabulous meal. I'd highly recommend the jalopeno pepper appetizer...also fish tacos and the coconut flan for dessert...yum. We will go again soon!"

  • "I had heard wonderful things about the food at Gonza Taco y Tequila in Raleigh. The food at the Wake Forest location was wonderful. I was there for lunch and ordered the Carne Asada Tacos - outstanding! I do have to say that there was no visible sign for the restaurant over it's main door. I first walked into The Village Grille and then walked into the outdoor seating area of Gonza's thinking that was the front door. Overall a great lunch and I will be trying it again for dinner!"

I left satisfied but not stuff (the way I feel after most Americanized Mexican restaurants. Everything tasted fresh and was well presented. The staff was friendly and helpful. We expect to return soon and often."

  • "The food at Gonzo's is authentic Columbian/South American/Spanish. WONDERFUL Only big drawback is that it is VERY loud in the dining area. The height of the ceiling is no doubt to blame, however the volume of the background music did not help. You literally have to yell for the person sitting 2 seats from you to hear you."

The Mexican Flag is a family favorite and you can't go wrong! Everything is so fresh and good that it's hard to choose something new each time because you always want to re-live that last experience!"

  • "My favorite thing about Gonza's is that everything is freshly made, and you can tell. The chips and salsa were delicious, and every one of our meals was excellently prepared. Tacos come in a variety of interesting combinations and the chile rellenos had a great smoky flavor. And if you like tequila, you will be amazed at the drink menu. The margaritas are authentic - not the super sweet watered down variety. With a unique atmosphere and great food, it is a fun dining experience. The best part is that the most expensive meal on the menu is only $13!"

  • "I must be honest, we were totally bummed when Los Palmas closed .So I was determined NOT to like who ever came into their place. But then we read Gonza's website and their style/ menu /reviews lured us in. So back we went I have to say, the food was STUNNING. The prices EXCELLENT. And the service exceptional. The new decor is beautiful. I got the el Plantano. So tender, the steak cut with a fork and it sat on a bed of delicious plantain. I would have preferred side rice to the beans, but still delicious. So I hold my head down with sadness that Los Palmos is gone, but smile underneath because I think we have a new favourite. We will most definitely be back. PS:They set the bar very high 4 Birthday Songs! Awesome performance!"

  • "We had a reservation & were seated promptly. The decor is modern, and the menu is not like all the other Mexican restaurants you' ve visited. I had the scallop tacos, and they were excellent. I had the option of a side salad instead of rice or beans, & it was also very good and not " typical". My son had steak fajitas & loved them. The salsas were fresh and delicious. Service was very good. There was a delay with our order for some reason, but both the waiter and the manager came to our table to apologize and make sure we were taken care of. I am not a tequila drinker, but there is a whole menu just for that as well. I would definitely recommend this place, & I am looking forward to going back for the Al Pastor tacos soon."

  • "Fantastic! I had the scallop tacos. I did not like the refried beans--I think they had nutmeg in them--but the rest of the food made up for it for me. The price point listed online is inaccurate--it said $12 to $30. It was very inexpensive. I think everything on the menu was only $12 or $13 dollars. I guess the $30 is for if you drink tequila with dinner. Not a big wine selection, but the wine I had was very good. Highly recommended!!!"

  • "We liked it so much the first time we just had to come back to try some different items. We didn't do flights this time but instead just had some very good reposado tequilas, Cabo Wabo and Don Julio. We started with the Ceviche (wonderful), my wife had the Chilaquiles Verdes and I had the Mexican Flag (both excellent. We finished with the flans; mine was chocolate and hers was coconut. We did share a little, we liked them both. Will definitely be back again and again."

  • "This restaurant had great service and great food. The wait staff is always filling up your glass with water/soda when your glass is empty and they are friendly. The fish tacos are outstanding and the Plantain Dinner is a must. This is a kid friendly place and good place for friends to get together and meet. The only down side I had was the the music was loud so I found it difficult to hear my friends at times."

  • "We finally made it for dinner. I now understand what the commotion was all about. The food is excellent, the service was great and the Tequila - of my the Tequila. My wife and I started the evening with Tequila Flights; she had the vertical and I had the horizontal. I think I found my personal favorite( Cabo Wabo) for now at least. I had the Tortilla soup and the Tinga Chili Relleno and my wife had the El Plantano. All of the food was very flavorful. We had the Talenga de Plantano for desert. We left pleasantly stuffed. I have even made reservations for our next visit."

  • "We love this restaurant . It is a Mexican-Cuban menu so different from your typical Mexican. The waiters are very attentive and keep your chips flowing and your table clean. The food is excellent my favorite is Pollo with their black beans. Be sure to book a table because it is usually packed."

  • "This was our 1st dinner at the new restaurant in Wake Forest after having dined at the Raleigh location many times. Both provide the best food and terrific service. However, the service was even better in Wake Forest. Our waitress Natalie was the friendliest and so capable. And, everyone else helped. If a plate was empty, someone was there to clear it. If we needed anything, someone made sure we had it. Natalie stopped by at the right times to check on us, and when we requested something, she brought it to us immediately. So, before we left we asked to speak to the manager to tell him how much we enjoyed our experience. As with everyone else, he was extremely nice. The only down side to this wonderful restaurant was the noise level."
