"Totally enjoyed dinner at the Goldmoor. The food and service were excellent. After dinner the owner gave us a tour of the kitchen and several guest rooms. We'll be back!"

"The restaurant was beautiful and the best part was that we had it all to ourselves. The menu doesn't have a lot to choose from, but the choices are great! Try the beef wellington, it is their house specialty! We sat at a table the overlooked the river, and we watched the sun set, it was very romantic. I would definitely go back to the Goldmoor the next time I'm in Galena."

"I enjoyed my visit very much. The prices are on the high side so for us it would have to remain for special events. We only have minor dissatisfaction. My friend had the creme brulee which she said was very good but the caramelized top was too thick and ridiculously hard to penetrate and even though we let you know it was our 45th wedding anniversary as well as the waitress we were not recognized in any special way with a dessert or glass of wine or anything like other restaurants tend to offer."

"Went for a first anniversary on 3/17/12 and could not have been more pleased. We arrived at sunset and had a nice table in the back. Ordered the beef wellington and my boyfriend ordered steak. Both were very good and since it was our anniversary they brought out a mini cake for us to enjoy. Phenominal! After dinner we got to see some of the open room suites and we definitely plan on a return stay."

"Very special place with lovely ambiance and wonderful views of the Mississippi. Everything was perfect; food presentation,food prepared to our request and delicious. Our server was attentive but not intrusive, always with a smile and an offer to take our picture seated in our cozy booth. This is a two hour drive for us but we are already planning a return. Another plus is the location in Galena, Illinois. So glad we found it."

"Goldmoor was a pleasant surprise. The food and atmosphere were outstanding. The owner stopped by the table to tell us to enjoy our dining experience and that is great PR. The menu is not extensive but the quality and quantity of each dish is MORE than adequate. The Ribeye steak au poir was outstanding and a very reasonable price. We ate our leftovers the next night when we returned home (Chicago) and it was just as good and as good as any Chicago restaurant! Definitely check it out!"

"Went to Galena for the day and made reservation at Goldmoor. We had never been there before. What a surprise. The staff was wonderful,personable and pleasant. The service was great and the food even better. My wife had the Chicken and Dumplings, I had the Beef Wellington. We want to go back in the summer and catch the sun setting over the Mississippi River."
