A word from Golden Bee - The Broadmoor
What was once an authentic 19th century English Pub has become one of The Broadmoor's most vibrant dining destinations. Fantastic pub fare (including The Bee's famous Fish & Chips), yards of ale and plenty of English charm are just a few of the reasons guests enjoy the lively atmosphere at our cheerful British pub.Continued

  • "The Golden Bee is one of our favorite restaurants in the Colorado Springs area. They have excellent fish and chips, you can get yards of ale, and the ambiance is outstanding. We were thrilled when they expanded and re-opened. Our most recent trip there included a live pianist with a sing-a-long. We had such a wonderful time!"

  • "We have been to the Golden Bee several times and we always have a good time. They have recently expanded so there is more seating but booking a reservation is almost required now to get in. They have a limited menu but everything on it is excellent from the lamb burger to the chicken pot pie to the pork belly. They have traditional English beer selections and serve it in varying sizes including half yard and yard glasses. I would recommend the Golden Bee but remember to make a reservation. Cheers!"

  • "Do NOT get the BLT. The waitress tried to warn me, but unfortunately I didn't listen. The bacon was very fatty and hard to eat. We were very disappointed with the Golden Bee and expected it would be better considering it is part of the Broadmoor. Would still be a nice place for a pint, but the food was sub par."

  • "Food was ok. Portions a bit small for the price. Very limited menu choices. Don't really get the "pub" promotion as the menu doesn't feel reflect a pub. Staff was awesome & accommodating. Restaurant is really loud - not for people who want to carry on a conversation."

  • "We come here about two or three times a year, usually on special occasions. This time it was for my birthday. My friends arrived before us and were seated almost immediately with our reservations. They ordered food and drinks before we arrived. When we joined them, the server took our drink orders immediately, and we decided against food. An hour into our stay, our friends asked where their food was. You could tell by the look on his face that the server had forgotten to enter their order. Once he placed the order, it came out very quickly. The same couple had also ordered some other drinks when they first were seated, and those never came either. He had to be reminded multiple times about orders we placed. Regardless, we'll be back again."

  • "My wife and I enjoy visiting the Broadmoor restaurants. For a moderately priced British sort of theme, the Golden Bee is a favorite. The Broadmoor restaurants always have very nice service and food. The place is always clean. Can't ever beat the Broadmoor!"

  • "We had dinner with friends, the food was great, and so was the service. The pianoman was too loud to enjoy the conversation we were trying to have (even though our table was far away from him)."

  • "We really enjoyed the bar. We will be back for the piano sing-a-long."

  • "We enjoyed seeing the renovations and were very happy that the ambiance had not changed. The "Bee" has many fun memories associated with it. We were disappointed with the change in the signature cheese soup from the past. The thick cheesy goodness that our taste buds craved and for which we saved our dietary treats was replaced by a thin watery disappointment. Bring back the old recipe."

  • "We love the Golden Bee because a they have great pub food and a fun atmosphere! Enjoyed the fried pickles, fish 'n' chips, lamb burger. Love the piano player and sing along! So much fun!"

  • "We have been coming to the Bee for 7 years for special occasions. Always had great service and great food. This time we had not been in 2 yrs, my daughter picked this establishment to celebrate her birthday. We were so disappointed in the service, the wait time, and the food. The ambiance can't be ruined with all the nostalgia, but the rest was a sheer disappointment I am sorry to say. The manager tried to make it better by erasing the food bill - but it left a sour taste."

  • "We would recommend the Golden Bee primarily for the sing along with the live piano music, which is very special in this historic pub. The food is just ok. The fish and chips were good, but avoid the beef pie which was more like soup with a floating crust and very little beef. The waitress had an attitude when she discovered that we were not on her time schedule of rushing through dinner. The piano player was excellent and we would return for the 9:30 sing along, but most likely not for dinner again."

  • "This was a specail occasion my Grandson's 21st birthday. Seemed the perfect place to celebrate. He loved the experience! The food was delicious and they even provided a special dessert for his birthday. Even with all the bustle of many people at the restaurant, it was not to loud. Was so glad we made a reservation though as there became quite a wait. Took a little while to get the ticket, as their was some problem with the gift card machine. Overall a great experience."

  • "Had the fish & chips, supposedly their signature dish & reasonably so for an English pub. The fish was fairly good. The "chips" were stale, tasteless American french fries. Desserts were so-so. Staff were very friendly. & service was good."

  • "Food was mediocre and over-priced. $16 for Ploughman's Pork dish...basically soup w/ nothing else. Felt like I paid $12 just to sit in the Golden Bee and $4.00 for the dish."

  • "This is a fabulous venue - a great casual dining experience and for comraderie with friends - both with those at your table as well as the one next to you! The old pub atmosphere and sing-along entertainment is equally comfortable and engaging for both families and date nights. The pot pies are wonderful - especially the chicken! And having a bee to take home with you is a fun conversation starter no matter where you are - you'll spot them in odd places like on a suitcase on the carousel at LAX or stuck to a receptionist's computer monitor at your dentist."

  • "Every year my friend and I make a trip to the Golden Bee to have a dirty martini in remembrance of her dad and every year, the hostess staff has been great, and the bartenders have been wonderful! They know the history and have some great stories to tell and are very friendly."

  • "overall was satisfied with my first time experience there. good ambience and friendly staff. however we were given a table at an undesirable location (right inbetween both rooms, one chair sat out in a main through-fair). we mentioned that we weren't pleased with that table to the hostess and she said there was nothing she could do to accomodate us (we had a reservation). I got the curry chicken - it was just ok and came out luke warm. Piano player was fantastice and very personable and friendly."

  • "We enjoyed Golden Bee. The drinks were good, the food was tasty and it was a nice place to hang out and relax. Certainly not a fine dining experience, but a fun, bar type hangout."

  • "Frenzied is a good word to describe the Golden Bee Monday night. My son asked to go after his Cotillion practice so I made a reservation thinking it prudent. We got there, the hostess wasn't welcoming, told us to wait while she set up a table and then a few minutes later seated us. I didn't like the location in the middle of the room and inquired about perimeter tables to which I got an attitude and said they had reservations. Well so did I. Our server was clearly stressed and rushing us. Unfortunately my son didn't like his dinner- quality has taken a dive. The 'manager' was running around like a maniac although pleasant when I requested vinegar for my fish and chips. Three hosts at the station didn't even say goodbye- too busy chatting."

  • "Golden Bee has a few unusual items on the menu. My friend and I tried the lamb burger and it was excellent. However the pot pie my husband ordered was very ordinary--in fact the meat was somewhat tough. But we'd go back again. I thought the server didn't show much enthusiasm for his job."

  • "Having lived in the UK for several years, I know what I expect from a British pub, but I also know that we're know in the UK. The pub itself was beautiful and the live piano was a nice touch. I enjoyed the food and my companion's food was good, as well. My biggest complaint was the beer selection. I feel that such a renowned hotel as the Broadmoor should be able to get a few more British beers. However, it was a nice evening and I would definitely go back."

  • "The menu, the beers, the decor, it all adds up to a typical English pub! The food was very good, but we came in anticipation of their Shepherd's Pie, which we have had before, and it was marvelous. The Golden Bee has taken it off their menu, however. The replacements, fish & chips, chicken pot pie, and cottage pie, were very good, but we expressed our disappointment over the removal of Shepherd's pie from the menu."

  • "We thought the Golden Bee would be a new way for our out-of-town guests to experience the Broadmoor. After the new addition/renovation of the Bee, we expected this old standard to be revitalized. Instead it felt tired, obligatory and mediocre. The Curry lunch entree was tasty and fresh and nicely presented. The Bowl of Chili looked and tasted like Hormel from a can and was served in a "cafeteria line" style bowl that detracted from the uninspired presentation even further. The basket of crackers was a disappointing but obligatory nod to some bad memory of standard pub fare, but every pack was pulverized as if they had all been heavily handled numerous times. The server seemed bored and vanished for long periods. We won't return."

  • "We were worried that the remodel would ruin the atmosphere that we loved so much but they were able to maintain the original bar but add new seating to allow for more patrons and more fun! Still "flying bees" and best cheese and crackers ever - but room for more! We would highly recommend this as a must visit if you are in the Springs or staying at the Broadmoor."

  • "In order to truly enjoy an evening at the Golden Bee, you have to be prepared to have fun. If you are looking for a quiet dinner, this is not the place to go. However, if you are looking for a cozy Irish Pub experience coupled with great food and atmosphere, then then this is the place."

  • "We've dined in the Bee before and appreciate the history surrounding the place. Would not have recommended it only for the food. The food, once again, was good, but not "5 star". French fries were soggy or burned. Sandwich, average. Decor and history are fun. We were there very late for lunch, but service was adequate. It is noisy and dark, and as we age, those items becomes more of a problem. Our guests enjoyed it, and we would take out of town folks there again, but probably won't visit often as regulars."

  • "This is my favorite restaurant at The Broadmoor and I have been to all of them except the Penrose Room. I really like the ornate bar, the exposed brick and the cool atmosphere. Everything I order there is excellent. My only criticism is that I think it is outrageous to charge $4.25 for a coke or an iced tea. I understand that this is a 5 star resort, but come on!! The profit alone on their beverages has probably funded the entire renovation on the West building."
