A word from Golden Bee - The Broadmoor
What was once an authentic 19th century English Pub has become one of The Broadmoor's most vibrant dining destinations. Fantastic pub fare (including The Bee's famous Fish & Chips), yards of ale and plenty of English charm are just a few of the reasons guests enjoy the lively atmosphere at our cheerful British pub.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "We just loved to look at all the "old" relics. Very elegant and unique. However the acoustics were terrible. It was hard to converse with our small party of 4. (This is even before the piano started)."

  • "The experience at the Golden Bee at The Broadmoor was very suburb! From the moment I made the reservation, to our group being seated and throughout the entire stay, the staff at the Bee was on top the whole time. We could not have asked for a better time. It was a bit hot in the corner where we were seated but no other complaints ever crossed our minds."

  • "If you like English pub food in a real British Pub without going across the pond then this place is for you! Great fish and chips, shepherds pie and yummy beer cheese are all to be had as well as all yards of ale (or smaller). The old time piano player was great and the sing along lots of fun"

  • "This is about as authentic a British pub experience as you will find on this side of the pond. The food is genuine pub fare--which isn't necessarily a plus--and the beer list is authentic as well. The service is cheerful, fun and attentive. The piano player was good and the decor was very interesting. A great place for a low-key dinner at the Broadmoor. The kids menu is OK but not unusual and the staff was great with the kids. Fun place, great bar."

  • "When my friend and I chose to sit upstairs, there was one other table of two in the room and the atmosphere was pleasant. However, within minutes of our placing our order, a three-generational family entered loudly and remained loud during the remaining time of our stay. Both the gentlemen and the women talked and laughed at high volume. At one point another group of about six or seven guests came upstairs and appeared to be deciding whether to have lunch in that room or not. Shortly, they left the room, and I believe our inconsiderate table neighbors contributed to their decision to eat elsewhere, hopefully still in the same facility. So, I have no true rating for "noise level" because "energetic" does not suit the negative situation."

  • "My wife and I received a gift certificate from my visiting brother. We read previous reviews and couldn't believe all the negative replies. My wife had the BLT and I had a hamburger. The BLT was great with thick tasty not to fat bacon and the hamburger was very good also. I waited tables for years in college and Courtney was an 11 on a scale of 1 to 10. Don't believe other people reviews because I don't believe they are accurate and some people you can't ever please. Highly recommend the Golden Bee especially upstairs in the open air and ambiance. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and will definitely eat here again."

  • "I've been going to the Bee for 30 years. The renovations are excellent but I miss the atmosphere of the original place. Food is good but this is a place for drinking and not necessarily for an excellent meal. The drink prices are steep but the fun of a half or full yard should not be passed up."

  • "Asked the server how the burger was cooked and he had no idea - said he eats pretty much frosted flakes and ramen. asked for mustard to go with my ham and cheese sandwich - server forgot I guess but another server was right on it"

  • "We visited The Golden Bee for our 2nd year anniversary. We LOVED it's unique atmosphere and food choices. I absolutely loved how bees could be found everywhere throughout the restaurant. I would highly recommend this as a great choice for anyone celebrating a special occasion, or who just wants a break from the typical restaurant."

  • "We ordered the fish and chips.. the fish was slimy and gross. I really didn't want to complain, but the waitress saw I wasn't eating my dinner. She brought me the BLT instead.. .This was good.. but too much fat on my bacon.. I just wasn't impressed by the food, and the drinks were over priced. I would not return or recommend to anyone. Left disappointed."

  • "The Bee now makes it's famous ruben on a hogue bun. It has gone from the best in the country to the worst. No german potato salad either. I have been visiting the Bee for 5 decades and have never been more disappointed with the menu changes than now. The pot pies and fish and chips have not been changed and are very good."

  • "I understand that the Golden Bee has ties to the Broadmoor but the pricing was outrageous. I was glad that we came in for drinks and dessert and not for dinner. We brought friends from out of state and we had a good time, but only ordered one round of drinks because it was so pricy. "

  • "My family and I were able to dine at the newly remodeled GOLDEN Bee restaurant/bar at the Broadmoor. The food was wonderful, the drinks were great and the atmosphere was high energy! It's always fun to get "bee'd" from the wait staff. We will go back again!"

  • "The Golden Bee is one of our favorite restaurants in the Colorado Springs area. They have excellent fish and chips, you can get yards of ale, and the ambiance is outstanding. We were thrilled when they expanded and re-opened. Our most recent trip there included a live pianist with a sing-a-long. We had such a wonderful time!"

  • "We have been to the Golden Bee several times and we always have a good time. They have recently expanded so there is more seating but booking a reservation is almost required now to get in. They have a limited menu but everything on it is excellent from the lamb burger to the chicken pot pie to the pork belly. They have traditional English beer selections and serve it in varying sizes including half yard and yard glasses. I would recommend the Golden Bee but remember to make a reservation. Cheers!"

  • "Frankly, we were shocked that this restaurant stays in business. Their "highly-acclaimed" fish and chips was extremely disappointing -- the batter was soggy, the fish was lukewarm and tasted like dirty water. Bangers and mash were, simply, inedible. The sausage had a terrible taste, almost as though they were spoiled. The salad didn't have dressing, only lemon juice. Adding to the terrible experience was the very poor, disinterested waitperson. It was almost as though she was used to people not eating the food and being unhappy with the restaurant. Save yourself the trouble of going here."

  • "Do NOT get the BLT. The waitress tried to warn me, but unfortunately I didn't listen. The bacon was very fatty and hard to eat. We were very disappointed with the Golden Bee and expected it would be better considering it is part of the Broadmoor. Would still be a nice place for a pint, but the food was sub par."

  • "We come here about two or three times a year, usually on special occasions. This time it was for my birthday. My friends arrived before us and were seated almost immediately with our reservations. They ordered food and drinks before we arrived. When we joined them, the server took our drink orders immediately, and we decided against food. An hour into our stay, our friends asked where their food was. You could tell by the look on his face that the server had forgotten to enter their order. Once he placed the order, it came out very quickly. The same couple had also ordered some other drinks when they first were seated, and those never came either. He had to be reminded multiple times about orders we placed. Regardless, we'll be back again."

  • "Food was ok. Portions a bit small for the price. Very limited menu choices. Don't really get the "pub" promotion as the menu doesn't feel reflect a pub. Staff was awesome & accommodating. Restaurant is really loud - not for people who want to carry on a conversation."

  • "My wife and I enjoy visiting the Broadmoor restaurants. For a moderately priced British sort of theme, the Golden Bee is a favorite. The Broadmoor restaurants always have very nice service and food. The place is always clean. Can't ever beat the Broadmoor!"

  • "We have been coming to the Bee for 7 years for special occasions. Always had great service and great food. This time we had not been in 2 yrs, my daughter picked this establishment to celebrate her birthday. We were so disappointed in the service, the wait time, and the food. The ambiance can't be ruined with all the nostalgia, but the rest was a sheer disappointment I am sorry to say. The manager tried to make it better by erasing the food bill - but it left a sour taste."

  • "We enjoyed seeing the renovations and were very happy that the ambiance had not changed. The "Bee" has many fun memories associated with it. We were disappointed with the change in the signature cheese soup from the past. The thick cheesy goodness that our taste buds craved and for which we saved our dietary treats was replaced by a thin watery disappointment. Bring back the old recipe."

  • "We would recommend the Golden Bee primarily for the sing along with the live piano music, which is very special in this historic pub. The food is just ok. The fish and chips were good, but avoid the beef pie which was more like soup with a floating crust and very little beef. The waitress had an attitude when she discovered that we were not on her time schedule of rushing through dinner. The piano player was excellent and we would return for the 9:30 sing along, but most likely not for dinner again."

  • "We had dinner with friends, the food was great, and so was the service. The pianoman was too loud to enjoy the conversation we were trying to have (even though our table was far away from him)."

  • "This was a specail occasion my Grandson's 21st birthday. Seemed the perfect place to celebrate. He loved the experience! The food was delicious and they even provided a special dessert for his birthday. Even with all the bustle of many people at the restaurant, it was not to loud. Was so glad we made a reservation though as there became quite a wait. Took a little while to get the ticket, as their was some problem with the gift card machine. Overall a great experience."

  • "Had the fish & chips, supposedly their signature dish & reasonably so for an English pub. The fish was fairly good. The "chips" were stale, tasteless American french fries. Desserts were so-so. Staff were very friendly. & service was good."
