  • "The food never disappoints and the ambiance is very low key and quaint."

  • "Food and service here is always consistent. We are never disappointed. The shrimp and other seafood is some of the freshest and tastiest around and the service is awesome. The cornbread is awesome as well."

  • "We have been here twice. No long wait with a reservation. The service is great. The waiter was very familiar with the menu choices."

  • "Great food & atmosphere. Cozy place with tons of personality. I had a reservation and it took 20 mins for us to be seated. That was the only negative. Otherwise, excellent spot! We will definitely be returning."

  • "We really enjoyed our first visit to Goin' Coastal about three months ago. Apparently things have changed now though. No longer are they offering family style salad or cornbread with the dinners. A small side salad was an additional $3 and no cornbread was ever offer to us. The broth in my wife's "Bowl" entree was nearly inedible with an awful taste. She muscled through it but I would've sent it back."

  • "We go here often and are never disappointed. Service is friendly and attentive and the food is great. We had crab legs and scallops this time. They were outstanding."

  • "Anyone can take a reservation but holding it is a problem for these guys. 40 mn wait is too long."

  • "My friends & I had 8:00 PM reservations & weren't able to be seated when we arrived because it was so crowded. It was a beautiful evening, so we didn't mind waiting outside for our table. The staff was extremely apologetic about the wait & even offered to buy us an appetizer! We didn't have to wait too long before we were seated. Our server was very down to earth & efficient. We ordered the crab dip for the table & were served cornbread as well - yummy! I had the halibut served Coastal style & the presentation was beautiful. The fish was cooked perfectly & very fresh. My friends & I had a wonderful experience & will be back!"

  • "The bistro seating along the wall did not provide a good experience for our party of two. The seafood was ok, I had the blackened cod, but nothing that really stood out."

  • "Good, fresh sustainable seafood and delicious cornbread. Nice neighborhood place."

  • "We are dinner regulars and decided to try Sunday brunch on Father's Day. Besides a terrific standing menu, the specials were incredible: crab scramble or grilled salmon. Goin' Coastal has both healthy (low-cal) offerings and blowout comfort food (fried chicken and gravy on homemade biscuits). We go not only for the food but the staff who are amazing!"

  • "It was Father's Day, my wife couldn't have picked a better place to take me. We were seated fairly quickly due to our reservation. We had plenty of great choices. The mimosa's were only a dollar, they should've had more than one bartender. All in all, we plan to go back sooner than later. We want to try the low country broil entree. You can only get that after 5pm we were told."

  • "The menu looks and sounds delicious. The lobster risotto was flat, even adding salt, pepper and squeezing lemon resulting in a bland dish. The lobster was tough and chewy."

  • "This restaurant was in a quiet spot, but offered the services of a large fancy restaurant."

  • "This restaurant had amazing food. Each dish my husband and I ordered was a hit. We will definitely return. The only issue may be the parking. You have to search a bit down the street."

  • "The food and options available at Goin' Costal are great additions to the feel and service of the restaurant's decor and staff. The waiters/ess were professional and well informed on the menu and the daily specials list was a great assortment of both local and international fish. The drinks and appetizers are great for anyone wanting to have a drink or two with a few friends as a mid-day snack or few a group wanting to experience a more vibrant side of Atlanta's restaurant. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys seafood."

  • "The Lobster Risotto was tremendous! When it was served it looked like an fair amount of lobster was in the dish. I was pleasantly surprised to encounter even more lobster as I worked my way through the very tasty risotto. I would order this again anytime!"

  • "Great staff, great food. We have been there when the fish is being delivered, fresh, whole fish delivered by the guys that caught them. It is honestly the best fish I've ever had anywhere. Now I almost don't want to order fish anywhere else. To the people who note it's not super busy all the time, it isn't a cheap date. That's the only reason I have for that, plus the space is what it is. And in a plug for OT, we'll make a reservation 15-30 min before by smart pone and show up and get seated immediately. I really don't understand why people still do walk-ins and get annoyed waiting unless you are a tourist - then we still sometimes do that too. "

  • "Goin' Coastal was highly recommended by a few friends. Those recommendations and the good number of diners waiting to be seated (not me...thanks open table) must be some indication of really great menu options. I think maybe my choice (seared tuna) and my dinner buddy's (blackened haddock) were not among the best selections? Or perhaps my idea of delicious seasoning to highlight fresh seafood/fish is just different than the average Goin' Coastal diner?.... I found the food just shy of bland and the portions just short of not enough. I'd go back at least once more with specific recommendations on what to order...maybe I just missed something.... "

  • "Arrived with my party of four to find a booth that had been decorated for the person in my group whose birthday it happened to be--balloons, cards, etc. I didn't mention the occasion in my open table reservation, but let it come out in a follow up conversation when I happened to call the restaurant earlier in the day. It was not expected, it was not requested, it was just there. When I expressed my deep appreciation to the server, she simply smiled and responded, "That's just how we roll". And, by reading the other reviews, this does seem to be a regular policy of Goin' Coastal. It was the first evening of the new menu, which now includes some of the old favorites as well as a weekly selection that introduces new items. "

  • "This was my first time dining here. The food and the service were excellent. It was a little costly but well worth it. The only issue was trying to find a place to park considering it is located basically in a residential area. I would definitely come back."

  • "If you want one of their special Bloody Mary or mimosa don't go until after 12:30 they won't serve you."

  • "This place serves great seafood, but casually - no stuffy white linins - no pretencious servers - just great seafood! The scallops are awesome!"

  • "We have become very happy repeat customers of Go'in Coastal. The entire staff is friendly and accommodating, the food is creative, fresh, well-prepared and seasoned and the menu is all-inclusive. I have tried each of the four prep styles offered for the fresh fish and each has been superb. Seth, the chef/owner is a pro in the kitchen and take personal care to be certain each dish is up to his high standards. If you want a neighborhood, no-nonsense comfortable restaurant with always reliable and remarkable food at a fair price, this is your place. "

  • "First visit and we will surely be back. After living in Florida for 30 years and spending a lot of time on the South Carolina Coast and in Boston, one thing we missed in Atlanta was fresh and reasonably priced seafood. We found it! Fresh seafood is best prepared simply whether a light breading on something fried to relatively plain when sautéed, poached, or broiled. Too many placed gunk it up and hide the mild sweetness and actual flavor. Goin'Coastal does it right! Trout and oysters were outstanding! Drinks great, and desserts, wow! Love the option to have the fish prepared in different ways. Looked around at what others had on their plates and was really impressed at how good they looked. Can't wait to return!"

  • "First time back in over a year. Lots of changes ... New menu which was OK ... Service OK ... Noise .. Very loud! Ability to get a table for 6 very quickly on a Fridat evening .... Hmmmm. "

  • "Fish and vegetables were excellent. Excellent dessert selection helped us celebrated a birthday in style. The service was accomodating and efficient! Rated it down for the escalating noise volume as the evening progressed on a rainy week day evening. "

  • "In typical fashion, I waited too long to find a reservation for brunch on Mother's Day. In one of those rare events when things actually work out, I was able to find a resi at Goin Coastal. After a bit of a wait, we were seated and, shortly after that, presented with a basket of warm banana bread. Being Bloody Mary snobs, my wife and were were happy to discover that their's are quite good. Our daughter loved the $1 Mimosas. We had the smoked salmon omelette, the crab cake benedict, and the lobster rolls . The omelette was tasty but over salted. Not sure if from the salmon or just too heavy a hand on the eggs (or both). Crab cakes were delicious but could have used more hollandaise. Our daughter loved the lobster. We'll be back for dinner"

  • "I discovered Goin' Coastal maybe all of 2 months ago and have already been more than half a dozen times. The food is always great, with really fresh seafood, and always perfectly prepared. I have never once had to send back a dish or season it myself once it hit the table, and I've had half the things on the menu. The service is just as great, though the hostesses could stand to be better than they are. All in all, I absolutely love this place. It's worth fighting for street traffic for. "

  • "My spouse and I recently brought an out of town guest to Goin' Coastal for dinner. The restaurant was busy and the crowd boisterous on a Saturday night. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Wines and sangria were very quenching. Loved loved loved the shrimp and scallop flatbread. I had the wolf fish prepared in the tomato sauce. Yum! The broth was memorable. My husband enjoyed the mahi mahi special and our guest was pleased with the fried oysters. Even her French fries had a nice zingy seasoning. Excellent meal!"
