A word from Gogi
GOGI was a vision that my dad had before he passed away in June 2013. His vision became a reality when my mom and I decided to open GOGI in mid-September 2013 in the West Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago. GOGI is where Korean barbecue lovers go and come together to enjoy chewing on some of the world’s best tasting protein. The name GOGI literally means “meat” in Korean so with confidence the bar has been raised!

A place of modern atmosphere with a relaxing environment, GOGI doesn't forget its Korean roots with traditional dining. For those unfamiliar with traditional Korean dining, imagine feeling the warm glow of burning charcoal at every table as your ears soak up the sounds of sizzling juices that await to thrill your taste buds! This is the magic of GOGI and we welcome you to our beautiful cultural experience!

I just went to Gogi for the first time a few days ago. The food was delicious, the menu is large, the drinks were fun and the ambiance is cool - they have regular booths as well as more traditional tables where you sit on the ground. It's very smoky inside though so expect to come out smelling like a bbq pit! We didn't know what to order and the waitress was very helpful in assisting us and giving us her recommendations, so don't be afraid to ask. The beef golbi was amazing as was the marinated pork.
