Goat TownExpensive but goodI made a reservation for 6 people the day of and it was no problem (on a Monday). I was a bit worried because it seems that in NYC if your party is more than 4 people it came feel quite crowded They had a great booth in the back that fit the 6 of us, but it would seem that the rest f the tables were made for pair of 2 or 4. The waitress we had was really friendly and patient. We needed some time to look over the menu and she wasn't one of those waitresses that hee and haw over people taking a long time over the menu. She was also very sweet and knowledgeable about the items on the menu. We had a reservation and were seated quickly. Our waiter was really friendly and helpful. He made the dinner comfortable and fun. We each had a kale salad which is great. It has fried onions and apples in it. I had a lamb special and my date had a pasta dish. The dinners didn't blow minds, but they were excellent. Next time, I'd try to find something more interesting on the menu.
The place got very crowded with people around 11. I think they were just there for the bar. It might have been overwhelming to arrive for a late dinner. The food was absolutely amazing, the chicken juicy and the trout perfectly cooked. The fries were so yummy as were the appetizers. Then we ordered 2 desserts to share among the 4 of us and felt we were in heaven. Our waiter was friendly, helpful and so nice. I went home after and made another reservation for my son's birthday. Reservations are definitely the way to go, busy place. If you are doing dinner for two be advised that some of the tables are very close together. The food was delicious. We had two different appetizers, the calamari and an octopus special for the night, both very good. Our group ordered the skirt steak and two fish dishes and were very pleased. We also ordered sides of butternut squash and kale and were happy with those as well. We had a salted caramel ice cream sundae for dessert which I liked but some thoughts was too salty.
