Diner Reviews
  • "My wife treated me to Glass Wall dinner for my birthday and it was perfect. The food was delicious and the wine was just right; I got the tenderloin dish and absolutely loved it. The service was excellent also. Isidro took care of us and was super cool - he had a dessert brought out for us with 'Happy Birthday' in chocolate and a candle. A small group next to us was also celebrating a birthday so apparently it's a popular place for special occassions, and now I know why - it is awesome. "

  • "Appetizers: great. Duck: excellent. Rib eye: adequate. Sauces: superb. Service: excellent. Interior: nice. Seating strategy: We came early on a Sunday. While many tables were available, incoming customers were placed very close together. This might give an impression of a lively place, but it is actually quite annoying. Customers should be given an option of seating in such situations."

  • "We gave this place a shot to try something new. Overall service was marginal and food also just average. It's a really cool place inside, so we see this place as somewhere to maybe grab a drink at the bar. Won't be back for dinner anytime soon thou."

  • "The food was delicious. We especially enjoyed the Shrimp wrapped in Bacon and the Duck Breast. Go for the wine parings, too. Service was very good. Our server was always around and made helpful suggestions."

  • "This was my second time at Glass Wall and it was just as good as the first. We were a group of 6 and were there for a special occasion. The appetizers were excellent as were the main course and the dessert was just amazing. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. I would suggest this restaurant to a friend for sure."

  • "I have never been disappointed with the overall quality of the food at the Glass Wall. I live nearby and have frequented this establishment fairly often. The food is excellent at very fair prices."

  • "We enjoyed our visit to the Glass Wall. Our waiter was wonderful with great suggestions for both food and wine. When my husband's steak was a bit overcooked it was immediately taken back with no fuss. An appetizer and a complimentary glass of wine appeared for the interim and the new steak was perfect as ordered. We couldn't have asked for more! We'll be back."

  • "We have been regulars and are never disappointed with the food or wine. The staff has been there a long time and it shows in the service"

  • "Our dinner at Glass Wall could not have been better. Excellent service, fantastic food and great setting. Will definitely be back soon."

  • "The menu is creative and has something to suit almost everyone without being too large. I had the duck breast - which can be tricky - served at the perfect temperature and done-ness. The accompaniments were outstanding - I am not fond of pumpkin pie and the like but the pumpkin flan was subtle and not overly sweet. Just excellent. Lentils were good too."

  • "We went here for the first time for my husband's birthday. The food was excellent and the service was phenomenal. They have a great selection of wine and the server was able to give great recommendations based on our indepenedent wine tastes. The appetizers were also delicious. I would recommend this place to couples and small groups (4-8)."

  • "This was our first trip to the Glass Wall. It was great. My wife had the duck and I had ribeye. Both were excellent. Other reviews talked about the noise. We didn't notice that at all. We will be back."

  • "I don't even want to rate the food because of the parking issue. I don't like to be forced to valet park!! You block the parking to the restaurant which I find unacceptable! I was trying out your restaurant for a private event but because of this will not consider this place. My husband and I are professionals and can easily afford valet parking but don't force this upon us!"

  • "Glass Wall has been around for a while and my big regret is that I haven't eaten here sooner. My party of four each tried something different ranging from the fish of the day to Australian lamb, pasta and steak and we all thought our meal was the best. And the lemon cheesecake was incredible! The only drawback is a wine list limited to domestic options."

  • "I LOVE LOVE LOVE THEIR LAMB CHOPS. I wish the Crab cakes wasn't greasy and fried so hard, but overall it was a great find for me."

  • "The short rib wasn't as good as it used to be, but the mahi mahi special was delicious. Our friends enjoyed the lamb and chicken-fried steak. The double chocolate cake was a tad dry, but the icing was yum. There was a bleach smell when we walked in, and it was humid inside. Nice and quiet when we got there for an early dinner at 5:30, but by the time we left around 7:30 it was much louder. I've been here in the past when we've had to speak loudly just to hear one another. Maybe the noise is amplified by the glass wall? We'll still be back, though! Love the interesting seasonal menu! Service always wonderful!"

  • "First visit. The food was excellent. Service poor. We had to keep flagging the waiter down. Very noisy. Not a repeat."

  • "This was a special occasion dinner, and they treated it as such - made up a dessert for us with "congratulations" written on it in chocolate. We ordered two appetizers with the wine pairings for each, and then shared the duck with the wine pairing - which was perfect for two women. (Not sure it would be enough for a guy.) Both appetizers were good, but the duck was amazing - the sweet potato flan it's served with is one of the best things I've had in recent memory. Order the wine pairings - they know what they're doing with them."

  • "the glass wall salad was fresh and very tasty. my friend ordered the tenderloin which he stated was very good but a tad over cooked above medium done. i ordered the shrimp and crab linguine . It was fresh but needed a bit more seasoning ."

  • "The meal and ambience at Glass Wall was superb. My only disappointment is that I had requested a booth with my reservation and was seated at a table with my dining companion. Minor disappointment, but still. Servers very friendly, helpful, and very much attentive. Overall great experience. Will definitely be back. Next time, hopefully in a booth."

  • "We went here on a recommendation of friends. Good food and good wine pairings. Appetizers, baked oysters and crab dip were very good. Went down from there. Signature chicken fried steak was dry and overdone. Gravy was almost congealed on top. Paella was fine, tho not much flavor. Red snapper was very 'fishy'. The lollipop lamb chops was very good, tho not the accompanying rice. The desserts, bread pudding and rum cake were very good. Maybe we just hit a bad night. Doubt we will try again tho, sorry."

  • "I never miss the opportunity to have dinner at Glass Wall when I am on a business trip in Houston. Great selection of creative dishes and an excellent wine list. Wine by the glass pairing with every entry on the extensive menu includes very interesting suggestions out of one's comfort zone.Service is excellent but not stuffy. The team does a great job each time. Glass Wall is definitely one of my favorites in Houston."

  • "I went there with my girl friends for one of their birthdays. I used Open table to make the reservation and included the fact it was my GF's bday celebration. It was fantastic that he approached the table and knew her name and the occasion. It's details like that which make dining experiences wonderful!! The food was exquisite and the wine was great..it wasn't the bottle I wanted but they upgraded and kept the price the same..which I thought was very nice!"

  • "It's nice to have upscale place that we can go at the spur of the moment.... Suspect to reservations. Martinis were prompt, water was kept refilled, and waitstaff plus manager provided the right balance of service. Salads were good, potato chips...not so much... Switched out with sweet potato fries. Chicken fried steak was average. Red fish was good. Overall, good value for a date night without the work for going to Galleria or downtown traffic."

  • "We are once again uber impressed with the quality of food, the service, and the ambience of The Glass Wall! We were there on a Sunday evening and it was relatively quiet (we were on the early side)--a big plus since the noise level in there can get quite high. There were only two servers on duty, but it seemed that they did not miss a beat and everything came out in perfect manner in terms of time and the support staff was right on it. The chef is very creative and we devoured the crab finger special appetizer--excellent crab fingers with a lively lemon butter sauce and a center of warm basil mashed potatoes. I had the veal picatta--which rivaled disses of similar ilk in NYC. The Glass Wall is indeed a neighborhood gem!"

  • "This place was so loud it was almost unbearable. The waiter had to put his ear next to our mouth to hear, I have never been in a restraurant this noisy. The entrees were not good, the appetizer was crab dip and the famous mac and cheeks was good we ordered rib eye and chicken fried steak not good or worth the 80$ check we did not have wine or liquor , waiter was rude and poor serving skills , I will not be back or ever recommend this place"
    Dined on 2/21/2014
  • "All of the main entrees were great. Service was good but not noteworthy. Eveybody enjoyed their deserts except me. I would not order the brûlée again. Only mishap was the glass of wine I ordered. It tasted like it was poured from a bottle that had been left open for a couple of days. This is why as a general rule I order by the bottle and not the glass. But the server made good on the bad glass of wine without incident."

  • "This was the perfect place to celebrate a belated Valentine's Day. My girlfriend and I had a reservation and were immediately seated, the waiter was prompt and friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu and wine list, even gave pairing recommendations. The food was fantastic. I will most certainly be back for another special occasion. The waiter told me though that we lucked out coming in after Valentine's Day, because when the place gets crowded it gets very loud. He also said they are going to be doing some renovations for a few weeks at the end of February to improve the acoustics."

  • "We had an excellent time. We sat on the back side of the "glass wall" and gave a great view of the entire dining room. Our server was awesome, very polite and always noticed when our glasses were even half empty. The food was tasty, especially the blue lump crab dip - so indulgent and special."

  • "This was our first time at Glass Wall and it won't be our last. Excellent good and service. The waiter recommended great wines to pair with our entree. We were too full to try dessert, but we'll know to save room next time. Dining room was a bit loud, but overall a great place."

  • "My dining partner and I are still wondering why it's called the glass wall? There wasn't anything that resembled a spectacular glass wall. There was a frosted glass wall dividing the bar from the dining area....but it wasn't fun to admire. Portions were tiny and we thought the food was overpriced. Service was spotty, he tried to he friendly, but came off too flirty then didn't always listen and wasn't available when we needed his service. We had to wave him down twice. The hostess was ride in regards to my special table request do to a disability. She rolled her eyes and seemed out out by a request to NOT be in the center of the restaurant, I thought maybe they were crowded....nope, there were empty and available tables everywhere."
