The food was great, the ambiance very pleasant. It was quiet, which usually only comes with extravagantly expensive restaurants. This was appropriately priced and quiet. We lingered for a long time because it was so pleasant.

This restaurant was highly recommended by the concierge of our hotel. The restaurant itself was very beautiful. The hostess was friendly. We were seated immediately. The corn couscous risotto was lovely. Due to the poor service, we didn't stay for dessert. The team seemed disengaged and unhappy.

Glass House tavern never disappoints. I have been dining here since the first week it opened and the food and service are consistently good. We had brunch/lunch before taking my granddaughter to "Matilda". It was a birthday celebration and our waiter was very attentive to her. She loved the candle in her dessert! It was a perfect start to our day.

Food is as boring as it ever was. Service was terrible. I ordered a glass of wine to drink while I perused the menu. I didn't come until the food arrived. Seafood paella was gloppy and bland. Pasta with brussels and bacon was unsalted. I asked for coffee and the check. Check came but not the coffee. We were seeing a show right across the street. So we could leave at 7:55. But at 7:40 the place cleared out as people headed to their shows. And it seemed as if the wait staff went on break. Past 7:45, I barely saw my server. This place is fine for a drink. And maybe a nosh at the bar. But I'll not eat dinner there again.

I choose the Glass Tavern because it was near the theatre we were attending. Surprisingly, it was great. The food was better than average for a theatre district restaurant, the tables spread aqpart enough so that you could have a quiet conversation with friends, and the service cordial. If I had had tie, I would have joined the "BAR SCENE," WHICH WAS JUST THAT - A SCENE. It was jumping with people, pre-theatre, of all ages. The bar was noisy, but then, which bar isn't? We seldom go back to any theatre district resturant, ut we all agreed that this one was worth revisiting next time theatre is in our plans.

I've been here several times and was very surprised at the poor service this time. We had 3 different servers so orders were incorrect and then blamed on each other. Very long wait between courses and had to remind each new server of something other forgot. Food was good as usual but overall experience poor. Always recommended to others but not sure after this time.

Everyone in my party of 8 left satisfied, each food choice was great! Presentation and taste get an A+. The only down side here was the lack of service. We would have racked up a much higher bar bill if we had the chance to do so... the waiter was non-existent for most of the time we dined.

Came here for early dinner after matinee with 5 friends.. Restaurant was very accommodating in providing requested table, and service was very attentive and courteous. Prix fixe dinner (chicken & salmon) were good value, salads were huge, panna cotta dessert more like a flan. Other choices - trout was very good as well as the pasta. Wine list was reasonable. Service was very good, never felt rushed nor neglected. Very pleasant evening- would return.

Our group of 6 celebrated a pre-matinee milestone birthday. The restaurant was perfect. We were seated immediately in line with our reservation, and the waitress helpfully prepared us for getting our order in ahead of the theatre rush hour. Everyone was busy but helpful and a slice of cake with candle was brought to the birthday girl. Everyone raved about the food, from monk fish over a special salad, to salmon and squid. This is the kind of special occasion place that doesn't disappoint!

Usually the restaurants in the theater district are not great. This was a very pleasant surprise. Reviews were right on the money! Food was very good, ambiance was good and conveniently located near the theater where we were seeing a play and prices were reasonable. Only thing which could have been improved was that the server should have checked back after the meal was served. We would have ordered something additional for the table but he never came back until the meal was nearly over.

It felt like a glorified diner. The service was 'ok' at best. The food wasnt bad at all but i wasnt overly impressed. I think they cater to the pit-stop tourist who never returns so their feedback isnt captured or probably considered. Its has a nice ambiance and a view of the street (from the second floor) which I like. The drinks were spot on and consistent. The pricing for a meal for two with three drinks and desert was abt $120. They did miss the fact that I requested no sausage with the appetizer and they completely missed the birthday request for a little cake/candle. Fortunately, I wasnt banking on this place to be my "happy birthday" surprise.

We came because for lunch because of it's great location for a Wednesday matinee and I had heard good things about it. it was better than best! The service was professional, attentive and friendly. The food was delicious and my hanger steak came perfectly cooked as I had required (medium rare). The ambiance is modern, but warm. Good lighting, carpet on the floor to soften the noise. I love the way the restaurant has 3 levels with a skylight. I will definitely come back as often as I can. Next time, a leisurely dinner with no curtain time.

This is my second time dining at the Glass House Tavern. The first time I had brunch. This time we wanted to have dinner before our 8:00 pm performance. Our server even asked us if we were seeing a show so he could ensure we had time to enjoy our dinner. The service was excellent. My friend and I shared the Duck Wellington appetizer. It was wonderful. Excellent flavors and just the right portion for a taste. For my entree, I had the Monk Fish with cucumber and tomato salad. It was delicious. Light, but satisfying. For dessert, we ordered the profiteroles, which were dusted in powdered sugar and served with a chocolate and caramel dipping sauces. A delicious, melt-in-your-mouth treat. I plan to come back next time I'm in New York.

I was pleasantly surprised that the restaurant was so attractively designed on multi levels. We were there for brunch before a Saturday play. Two ordered lunch items and two of us ordered omelets. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the service was prompt, courteous and attentive. What struck me was the way they used heirloom tomatoes and other vegetables to make the dishes look and taste so appealing. We felt the price was reasonable for the quality of food and theater location.

We almost left before ordering. First we were seating in the back of the upper level. The curtain was drawn and from behind it was loud talking and clanging. We requested to move: our server made an excuse for the noise. We had to request a second time before a table change. Glass House was only 25% full, lots of empty tables for four. We had the impression that asking anything from our server was an imposition; he went through the motion. We never had water glasses refilled, etc. The food was average, nothing to write home about. I had the tomato soup for appetizer, tasted like from a can. One of the orders was the pork tenderloin, it was dry. We were in New York for four days, had three incredible meals. This was not one of them.
