I was looking for a theater district place to dine post theater and this restaurant was recommended to me. Our soup and salad were both tasty and delicious and our main meals were presented beautifully. My son ordered the filet minon which was definitely a great choice. I ordered the free range chicken, which I found somewhat dry. Our accompanied potatoes were both great. We split a warm chocolate cake with berries. A mite on the small side and a little stingy with the berries, but a decadent dessert. I would most definetly return to The Glass House Tavern as well as I highly recommend it.....it is a new theater district favorite restaurant!

Snuggled in the middle of the theater district this restaurant out performs. The menu is diverse without being overly complicated. The cuisine is well presented and the taste is devine. The wait staff was very attentive and in tune with the quick turn around for you to make that next show but they are not pushy. Two thumbs up on this performance.

My boyfriend and I went to Glass House Tavern for restaurant week. We had a 5:30 reservation and were seated right away. Our waiter was friendly and personable and made us feel right at home. We both started out with the crab and goat cheese stuffed shrimp which was delicious. Our filet mignon entrees were my favorite part of the meal. For dessert I had a warm chocolate cake which was rather disappointing. I thought the cake was dry and was hoping for warm chocolate oozing out of the middle. My boyfriend had the pineapple bread pudding and he loved it. Overall, I was pleased with my choice for restaurant week and extremely happy with the service we received.

I enjoyed my Dinner at the Glass House Tavern. The price fixe menu was unique and a good value. The portions were very accommodating and I was very satisfied. The filet mignon was cooked perfect, the risotta had a hint of mint to it that was unique and delicious. The pasta and eggplant dish had a sweet and spicy taste that was also very enjoyable. I would recommend this restaurant to my friends.

Visited the Glass House after the theater. The restaurant area was quiet but we enjoyed the private feel for our dinner. Food was enjoyable and we had a very nice wait person. The bar area was very crowded when we left so I would return to visit the bar for a late night drink. Very pleasant experience.

We got there at 5. Said we had to leave at 7:30. Promptness was advertised. Our food came at 7. Once in charge apologized about delay and food was coming. Half hour later we askEd. Apologized for delay. My friend wanted a comp for our inconvenience. In charge said no. Bread stale. Fish had strong fish smell.

Sunday brunch. My friend ordered a peach bellini. Usually that's champagne with peach nectar. The waiter brought us a glass of champagne with peach schnapps. What?!? Sent it back. The waiter acted like we were hassling him. Then he read off the specials. I asked if I could get an omelette with spinach and tomatoes. It wasn't on the menu but, hey, most kitchens have spinach and tomatoes. He literally yelled "NO!" at me. My friends and I were taken aback. His style was totally gruff, unfriendly, and way below what you'd expect at a restaurant like this in a neighborhood like this. The whole experience was unpleasant and bizarre. Will not go back.

Celebrating our anniversary. Sat upstairs, more private and quiet, our waiter greeted us with complimentary champagne for our anniversary. We shared a watermelon salad that was delicious and perfect for a summer evening. The bread basket was filled with wonderful choices and we had trout in a light cornmeal breading and lamb for our entrees and both were paired with delectable sides and cooked to perfection. We both enjoyed a Red Zin for wine and topped the meal off with a pineapple bread pudding. Definitely a place we will return to and at least once we want to dine solely on the appetizers, which all appear to be wonderfu,l so we'll share them tapas style. Downstairs is the bar and additional tables but upstairs is more private.

We were looking for a good place for lunch and the Glass House was recommended by the concierge. I would not have walked in from the street view but inside was a neat restaurant with tablecloths nestled into three levels. We ate at a high top in the lower bar area to watch the World Cup. Menu was above average with interesting twists but not crazy. They weren't too busy so service was prompt. Good solid choice. I would return.

We selected this restaurant because it was fairly close to the theater we were attending. It turned out to be an excellent choice. The brunch/lunch menu was very good there were many choices appropriate for everyone. My husband and I had an excellent quiche with a very good salad. Others in our party had a variety of other more lunch options but absolutely everyone was delighted with their food. The waiter was very good about asking if we had theater tickets, which we did. Dinner at the Glass House Tavern before the theatre was just wonderful. The hosts were friendly and honored my request for a high top table downstairs in the bar area. We enjoyed our drinks, delicious appetizers and outstanding entrees. Our crab cake and sweet pea risotto appetizers were wonderful. The seafood spaghettini was so tasty and full of shrimp, scallops, calamari, mussels and cockles, as was the paella. Service was excellent, we had plenty of time to arrive at the theatre a few blocks away. We will certainly return to this great spot in the city again!

Everyone at the table thought the food was excellent. My striped bass dish was the best dinner I had had in a long time. I can't say enough about the service always there and with a smile. The server noticed a birthday card envelope and surprised my daughter with a special birthday desert. We were stunned by the attention he paid to us. The only negative about Glass House Tavern is the noise level. By the time we left it was fairly loud.
