We were 12 women meeting for lunch. We've been here a few times and it's consistently very good. Most of us had different things, including a crunchy chicken salad, special of the day omelette, burger and salmon. Everybody thanked me for suggesting this restaurant. Service was wonderful and looking forward to going again.

Located on W. 47th St.,across from the Barrymore Theater where we saw the fabulous "Curious Incident about the Dog in the Night", this restaurant is one of the quieter ones in the theater district. The food is excellent and the service very attentive. The wait staff always ask what time your show is, etc. and keep that in mind. The food is well seasoned without being overdone. I've been there 5-6 times and its always excellent.

I arrived a little early before my dinner partner. Was graciously greeted and went to the bar where a host made sure I got a drink as the bartenderess was at the other end of the bar. Later, up stairs the service was not as wonderful. Bread was put on the table after we got our entrees, which were served by the busperson. Waitress did not come by to see if we needed anything else. Took me a while to get her attention to ask for wine which finally arrived as we just about finished our meal. But I will give them another chance.

This restaurant is a favorite of our theatre group. We come early for a relaxed dinner. We are always greeted warmly and taken to "our" table in the upstairs room. (They seem to keep a record of our choices.) The service, by the excellent and knowledgeable troop of waiters, is impeccable and the food is not only delicious, but beautifully presented. What more could any diner want? It's like going to a special friend's home.

We love this restaurant. It was a nice variety of dishes. The room we sat in was lovely Sat by the picture window. The best. They didn't rush us. We had theater tickets close by. As well as validated parking close by for a lower rate. It was great ! Have been here many times and will still go back for more!!

our server was intelligent enough to hold up his end of the conversation with my 88-year old mom, and when he was called away by the kitchen he made sure other waiters looked in on us which was thoughtful and professional. the french toast was out of this world. the 14 hands cab sauv was great and they brought over the bottle to discuss, which I appreciated. this place is not run of the mill, it's cut aboe. very nice experience before the theatre.

We had a 5:30 reservation and after we were seated we were immediately asked my our server if we were attending a show. We said yes and the show had an 8:00 PM curtain. We finished our entire meal in a little over an hour. Our soup came out first, even before our drinks. We barely finished the last bite and our plates were cleared and the next course came out. Since we ordered from the priz fixe menu, we ordered our dessert along with the rest of the meal. My husband ordered the pineapple bread pudding dessert and he received an extremely small wedge with one sliced strawberry. We had to ask for coffee, it was never offered. We have been to the Glass House Tavern quite a few times so we were notably disappointed.

Our party of 4 ate at this restaurant last evening, and we all enjoyed our meals. No complaints. Service was a little slow but our waiter was quite pleasant and accommodating. We still made it to the theatre on time. I saw a great tip in another review that recommended requesting a table on the 2nd floor overlooking the street. The restaurant accommodated my request, and it was the perfect place to be seated and a little more private and not quite as noisy. We will eat here again on our next trip to NYC.

We dined here before the musical ONCE. It was fast and conveniently located for the show. As a foodie I was rathdisappointed. My chicken entree had no flavor. Elegant ambiance, excellent service and a nice, quiet little refuge to relax, dine and recharge without being rushed--especially if you're seated on one of the two upper levels. We lucked out on a great deal during restaurant week! Double truffle potatoes are to die for and worth the surcharge if you want to substitute. Tremendous wine list and huge bar menu. Entrees were tasty, served hot and plated nicely. They could use more variety in the dessert options, though.

We chose Glass House Tavern on the spur of the moment, on the recommendation of a good friend, for our brunch on Saturday. It was a positively wonderful selection, from food options that included fixed price brunch and lunch, to friendly, knowledgeable wait staff, to quiet location for a lot of lunchtime conversation among friends, to a leisurely meal (3 hours). All this, at what we felt was a very reasonable price. We are so appreciative of the attention given to my request for a place where 11 of us could converse at a relatively secluded table grouping! The Glass House Tavern has already been recommended to friends -- and we will most definitely be back on our next midtown escape! Thank you, all!~

I wrestled with every single bite of the duck I ordered as it was filled with gristle. The other items on my plate were dried out and overcooked. I left the restaurant hungry as a result and I am not a big eater. However, our waiter was excellent. I did not complain or send my meal back as I wanted to make our theater curtain on time. My table mates were also less than enthralled with how well their meals were cooked as well.

For several years now Glass House Tavern was my 'go to' restaurant when I was entertaining client/guests before theatre but they really dropped the ball this time. While the bar was packed, the dining area was only about a third filled and yet the servers were still no where to be found. Even after complaining to the manager about not being able to send back two undercooked meals, I still had to get up and pour water for my guests. Dinner plates stayed on the table until we paid the check and left. Perhaps a change in management or ownership but this place has definitely lost its sparkle.

Went to the Glass House Tavern because it sounded good and was within walking distance to our theater before seeing Motown the Musical. We really enjoyed the food. Everything was delicious . I am looking forward to going back.

I've been here for drinks before and always happy. We went to restaurant week and had a less than stellar experience. the appetizers were great (sweet pea risotto) but the entrees were terrible. both my brother and I had the filet and it honestly tasted like old meat. Not spoiled, but not a great cut of meat. was really surprised. the waiter forgot my brother's extra side of veggies, and my brother told him not to worry about it. the desserts were ok-chocolate cake was good but nothing you couldn't find anywhere else. for the price, i would have much rather gone somewhere else.

Restaurant has very good midtown location, especially if you are seeing a Broadway show. Nice ambiance and lovely atmosphere. I was there on a Monday, so it was especially quiet. Not rushed at all and stayed to chat even after the meal was finished. A little disappointed with the size of the appetizer and desert. I ordered from the $25 lunch week menu. My mushroom ravioli was tasty, but there were only 2 small pieces. Main course of a poached shrimp salad was very good, lots of large fresh shrimp and a very tasty dressing. My desert, pineapple bread pudding, was the size of a postage stamp. Whatever there was was good, but the chef certainly could have added another spoonfull or two. I think I would go back if I was in midtown.

We found the restaurant listed for NYC Restaurant Week and chose it for its close location to our hotel, and its promising menu. We were surprised a wine/drink list was never provided; I chose a meal only to find out I was given the wrong menu, and had to choose again. While he didn't know the menu perfectly, he had a great attitude and sought information from the kitchen when he did not know the answers to our questions. He was very attentive as well.
