  • "Enjoyed a very nice dinner with my girlfriend. We originally were going to eat there before seeing wicked on Saturday but decided to book a reservation for the next night. It was a pleasurable experience and the food was on par along with the ambience. Our server was friendly and gave us great service!"

  • "Went to the Glass House Tavern because it sounded good and was within walking distance to our theater before seeing Motown the Musical. We really enjoyed the food. We could hear each other well for a good conversation. Our waiter was attentive and asked what time our show was so that he ordered our desserts when we ordered our entrees. Everything was delicious . I am looking forward to going back."

  • "I've been here for drinks before and always happy. We went to restaurant week and had a less than stellar experience. the appetizers were great (sweet pea risotto) but the entrees were terrible. both my brother and I had the filet and it honestly tasted like old meat. Not spoiled, but not a great cut of meat. was really surprised. the waiter forgot my brother's extra side of veggies, and my brother told him not to worry about it. the desserts were ok-chocolate cake was good but nothing you couldn't find anywhere else. for the price, i would have much rather gone somewhere else."

  • "Food was very good. Quick and easy place for pre theater dinner. Atmosphere was good and restaurant was nice. Not a memorable experience or menu."

  • "What a nice restaurant in the heart of Times Square. Good food, good service, reasonable prices. I work in the area and this kind of place is hard to find. I'm going to keep it on my list of restaurants to go to when I want a nice sit-down lunch that's not rushed or overpriced."

  • "Restaurant has very good midtown location, especially if you are seeing a Broadway show. Nice ambiance and lovely atmosphere. I was there on a Monday, so it was especially quiet. Not rushed at all and stayed to chat even after the meal was finished. A little disappointed with the size of the appetizer and desert. I ordered from the $25 lunch week menu. My mushroom ravioli was tasty, but there were only 2 small pieces. Main course of a poached shrimp salad was very good, lots of large fresh shrimp and a very tasty dressing. My desert, pineapple bread pudding, was the size of a postage stamp. Whatever there was was good, but the chef certainly could have added another spoonfull or two. I think I would go back if I was in midtown."

  • "We found the restaurant listed for NYC Restaurant Week and chose it for its close location to our hotel, and its promising menu. We were surprised a wine/drink list was never provided; I chose a meal only to find out I was given the wrong menu, and had to choose again. Our food was very good, the atmosphere nice, and the restaurant was very clean. Our window seats overlooked the street, so we had a nice opportunity to people watch."

  • "We celebrated a birthday with brunch here. The menu has a little of everything, so it was perfect, even for our two-year-old. Our server was terrific. While he didn't know the menu perfectly, he had a great attitude and sought information from the kitchen when he did not know the answers to our questions. He was very attentive as well. The space is also great. The décor is rich and comfortable, and we did not feel crowded or cramped at all."

  • "We visited during restaurant week, which was an unexpected bonus. Delicious three-course meals for $38. Service was very gracious, but a bit on the slow side during this visit. Will definitely visit again."

  • "I was looking for a theater district place to dine post theater and this restaurant was recommended to me. Our soup and salad were both tasty and delicious and our main meals were presented beautifully. My son ordered the filet minon which was definitely a great choice. I ordered the free range chicken, which I found somewhat dry. Our accompanied potatoes were both great. We split a warm chocolate cake with berries. A mite on the small side and a little stingy with the berries, but a decadent dessert. I would most definetly return to The Glass House Tavern as well as I highly recommend it.....it is a new theater district favorite restaurant!"

  • "Snuggled in the middle of the theater district this restaurant out performs. The menu is diverse without being overly complicated. The cuisine is well presented and the taste is devine. The wait staff was very attentive and in tune with the quick turn around for you to make that next show but they are not pushy. Two thumbs up on this performance."

  • "We had never been and chose the Glass Tavern because it looked nice and the menu look very good. It exceeded our expectations. The food was terrific and the service was very good, a couple of minor things that we noticed but not enough to complain about."

  • "My boyfriend and I went to Glass House Tavern for restaurant week. We had a 5:30 reservation and were seated right away. Our waiter was friendly and personable and made us feel right at home. We both started out with the crab and goat cheese stuffed shrimp which was delicious. Our filet mignon entrees were my favorite part of the meal. For dessert I had a warm chocolate cake which was rather disappointing. I thought the cake was dry and was hoping for warm chocolate oozing out of the middle. My boyfriend had the pineapple bread pudding and he loved it. Overall, I was pleased with my choice for restaurant week and extremely happy with the service we received."

  • "I enjoyed my Dinner at the Glass House Tavern. The price fixe menu was unique and a good value. The portions were very accommodating and I was very satisfied. The filet mignon was cooked perfect, the risotta had a hint of mint to it that was unique and delicious. The pasta and eggplant dish had a sweet and spicy taste that was also very enjoyable. I would recommend this restaurant to my friends."

  • "Visited the Glass House after the theater. The restaurant area was quiet but we enjoyed the private feel for our dinner. Food was enjoyable and we had a very nice wait person. The bar area was very crowded when we left so I would return to visit the bar for a late night drink. Very pleasant experience."

  • "We went for the prefix restaurant week menu and had one of the best meals I've ever eaten. The flavors were full and dynamic. However, the restaurant was empty which was a little uncomfortable and off putting, but still amazing eats."

  • "We got there at 5. Said we had to leave at 7:30. Promptness was advertised. Our food came at 7. Once in charge apologized about delay and food was coming. Half hour later we askEd. Apologized for delay. My friend wanted a comp for our inconvenience. In charge said no. Bread stale. Fish had strong fish smell."

  • "Sunday brunch. My friend ordered a peach bellini. Usually that's champagne with peach nectar. The waiter brought us a glass of champagne with peach schnapps. What?!? Sent it back. The waiter acted like we were hassling him. Then he read off the specials. I asked if I could get an omelette with spinach and tomatoes. It wasn't on the menu but, hey, most kitchens have spinach and tomatoes. He literally yelled "NO!" at me. My friends and I were taken aback. His style was totally gruff, unfriendly, and way below what you'd expect at a restaurant like this in a neighborhood like this. The whole experience was unpleasant and bizarre. Will not go back."

  • "We had friends staying at Timesqure and wanted to find a restaurant that serves breakfast for a group of 8. We were pleasantly surprised to find this place in the heart of Timesqure with nice ambiance. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for decent food/decor without paying top $."

  • "Food was very good but service was sluggish. The waiter was new but he tried. Why did we have to ask for bread though? The fish of the day dish was excellent. We would have liked a burger on the menu. Chocolate dessert was excellent. We'll be back."

  • "Creative entrees, friendly and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for dinner before theatre with a nice selection on the prix-fixe menu. This was my second visit, and I will return and bring friends."

  • "Celebrating our anniversary. Sat upstairs, more private and quiet, our waiter greeted us with complimentary champagne for our anniversary. We shared a watermelon salad that was delicious and perfect for a summer evening. The bread basket was filled with wonderful choices and we had trout in a light cornmeal breading and lamb for our entrees and both were paired with delectable sides and cooked to perfection. We both enjoyed a Red Zin for wine and topped the meal off with a pineapple bread pudding. Definitely a place we will return to and at least once we want to dine solely on the appetizers, which all appear to be wonderfu,l so we'll share them tapas style. Downstairs is the bar and additional tables but upstairs is more private."
