We arrived at 6:30 and had a little difficulty finding the restaurant as there are many different buildings..lodging, banquet, barn, etc Once we found the entrance to the restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised at how beautiful it was inside. We were greeted by the hostess, who directed us to the dining area and asked us to choose our table. Our waiter was Walker, and he was very knowledgeable of everything on the menu and so very friendly. We took his advice and ordered his top two favorites. My husband had the maple glazed pork chop, and I had the lump crab cakes. Neither of us was disappointed everything was very yum yum yummy! I tried a bite (or2 😉) of my husband’s pork chop and I know I want to go back just to have that. For dessert we shared the freshly made chocolate chip pudding bread à la mode. It was delicious. Special thank you to Walker for treating us to dessert as we celebrated our 52nd wedding anniversary. I highly recommend the Glasbern, trust me you will not be disappointed. Terri n Tommy .

Great meal with friends. The food and our server, Mackenzie, were awesome! Will definitely be back. One thing I will say though is that the parking is awful, and we finally found a spot right next to the open air structure on top of the hill. Unfortunately, we could not see that a wedding was taking place until we backed in completely. The noise from our car and radio disturbed the ceremony. We stayed in our parked car until it was finished so as not to make further noise. But, if someone goes to the expense of booking their wedding there, they should ensure that things like that don’t happen. Have a valet. Block the area off with cones. This was a real miss on behalf of management which could have been anticipated and solved for at a very low cost. Keep this in mind if you’re planning something similar

FAQs

Glasbern offers a few distinct spaces: a main dining room set inside a restored barn with cozy booths and tables, a small pub/bar area for drinks and casual bites, and event/private dining spaces used for weddings and group events. If you have a seating preference (fireplace, window table, booth), call ahead, staff are happy to try to accommodate.

The Glasbern’s hours (per the restaurant) focus on dinner and the bar: Bar, Mon–Thu & Sun 5:00–9:00 pm; Fri–Sat 4:00–10:00 pm. Dinner, Mon–Thu & Sun 5:00–8:30 pm; Fri–Sat 5:00–9:00 pm. Note: holiday hours can vary (see holiday note below).

Busiest: weekends, holidays and wedding/event dates (NYE, Easter buffet and seasonal holidays get crowded). Quietest: midweek and early Sunday evenings are typically calmer. If you want a tranquil dinner by the fireplace, choose a weekday or call to request a quieter table.

Weekdays, especially midweek (Tuesday–Thursday), are often the best bet for a quieter, relaxed dinner. Sundays can also be calm in the evening. Avoid major holidays and weekend wedding dates if you want a particularly peaceful table.

They do run holiday events but the dining room has special schedules: the restaurant is closed on Christmas Day while the pub bar remains open (per the owner); guests also report holiday events like Easter buffets and New Year’s Eve celebrations, so hours vary by holiday, check with the inn for specific dates.

Portions tend to be moderate-to-generous, plated like a fine-dining restaurant: thoughtfully sized entrees with substantial sides so most guests find a single main filling. Several guests called portions “adequate” or “generous” (some even took half to-go), while appetizers like the charcuterie board are sizable and meant to share.

Yes, call ahead. The team is frequently praised for accommodating dietary needs (many gluten-free options and safe prep noted) and for helping with special occasions (anniversaries, proposals). That said, some guests reported limited substitution flexibility on special menus, so confirm ahead for dietary swaps, seating requests or celebration touches.

Family-friendly: yes, guests often bring families, teens and celebrate birthdays here, and many note warm, accommodating service. Accessible seating: specifics aren’t listed, so if you need wheelchair access, handicap parking or particular seating, call ahead so staff can accommodate your needs (one guest asked for handicap parking directions during renovations).

Aim for midweek or an early weeknight for a quieter experience; guests often find Tuesday–Thursday or early Sunday evenings calmer. Weekends, holidays and wedding/event dates are busiest, many guests recommend booking early for special occasions. If you want the pub atmosphere, arriving before dinner service can be a good option.

Warm, rustic and romantic, the inn’s restored barn dining room, soft lighting, fireplaces and quiet tables create a relaxed, intimate fine-dining vibe. Guests describe it as cozy yet elegant, ideal for date nights, anniversaries and special occasions. The grounds are scenic, so many diners arrive early to stroll before dinner.

Families do dine here, and guests often bring teens or celebrate birthdays with children. The focus is fine-dining farm-to-table cuisine rather than a kids’ menu, so for younger children consider an early seating or call ahead to discuss menu flexibility. Overall it’s family-welcoming but best for well-behaved kids.

No, the inn does not currently offer outdoor dining, but the grounds are beautifully landscaped and many guests enjoy arriving early to walk the property before dinner. If outdoor seating is important, call ahead to confirm any seasonal changes.

Yes, Glasbern Country Inn is a popular choice for a romantic date night. Guests repeatedly praise its cozy, rustic dining room (a restored barn), roaring fireplaces, soft lighting and quiet tables that create an intimate atmosphere. Expect fine-dining, farm-to-table dishes, attentive service, and thoughtfully paired wines, ideal for anniversaries or special evenings. Make a reservation and consider an early seating if you prefer a particularly quiet table.

The dress code is smart casual, guests often dress up for the fine-dining, romantic setting but it’s described as elegant without being overly formal. If you’re celebrating a special occasion, smart attire fits the atmosphere well.
