Great after a morning at the GettyHi
We took our cousins from Pittsburgh and Ohio to Gladstone's after we spent the morning at the Getty Villa.
The five of us enjoyed a medium seafood tower; Wow!
Great choice! Afterwards, we went to Santa Monica Pier, manhattan beach via pch to home in Torrance; for home cooked steak, potatoes, asparagus, salad.
If we did not have this full meal waiting for us at home we would have made different choices at Gladstone's, as it turned out, the medium seafood tower and beautiful sour dough bread was outstanding !
Cannot wait to go back!5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed a well served and cookedWe enjoyed a well served and cooked meal for 4. Thank You5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMPleasantly surprisedWe had a delicious lunch (all 7 of us) and our waiter was friendly and above average. Most of all, our reservation was at 1:30 and we were seated by 2pm. Good job Gladstones. The only negative is the food is a bit too pricey.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWorth itI would go again. Enjoyed the service on mothers day. Everything was good for everyone in the party.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMperfect mothers day 2013Kerp in mind that i have worked in the restaurant industry for almost a decade... And although i have respect and of course i am polite to all wait staff, derp down inside I cannot help but judge.
So Despite the overpacked busy bodies, Gladstones did a fine job of handling the amount of guests literally POURING into the location. No complaints what so ever!!!! Had made previous reservations and we were seated within 10min of reserved time (honon our added request of window ocean view paio table). Food was fresh and delicious, drinks were strong, unique, and thirst-quenching, and to top it off our servers Matt and Tee-Tee had us laughing and kept us satisfied from beginning to end.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day DInnerHad a good dinner at a table next to the patio window. The couches on the waiting deck overlooking the beach was a great way of wait for our table to be ready while having drinks. Due to the large crowd for Mother's Day, by the time we ordered, they were out of the fresh fish and the flatbread items, thus my wife had to get her third choice. Waiter was very accomodating and took care of us. Will definitely be back.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome Mother's Day Brunch!I come here all the time and love the food. It's great food, if a little bit pricey, but the view cannot be beat. One huge surprise was the Mother's Day brunch. What a spread! from amazing pasta salad to the best French toast I've ever had (with caramel sauce and bananas foster) and a great seafood spread plus beautiful desserts. A bloody mary bar pulled the whole thing together.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMDATE, FAMILY AND KID FRIENDLYGladstone's is awesome. Always has been, always will be. Great food, (a little overpriced), and fun. They are really good to the kids too.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMI had not been to GladstonesI had not been to Gladstones in 20 years.
It was a most pleasant surprise to find this place is still the same it was from years ago!
The view is still as beautiful as ever.
We were not rushed and for a Saturday evening that is surprising.
Service with Madeline our waitress was fantastic,5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGladstones - Pacific Palisades -CaRight on the beach. High clear panels protect you from the wind. Excellent service. Overall great ambiance. My favorite place to stop when cruising the coastline.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial! It was a perfect beach day which contributed to the great experience we had a Gladstones! Our group of eight had different opinions about how much they enjoyed their food (this reviewer thoroghly enjoyed her meal), but the service was great, the waiters and bar tenders were vivacious and energetic!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMbest birthday celebration everWe went to Gladstones to celebrate my son's 25th birthday and we had a fantastic time! Our server Angel was very attentive and a genuine pleasure. You can tell that he takes pride in a job well done and he knows how to keep his customers happy. The food was amazing and plentiful. So much so that we had plenty of leftovers that Miguel wrapped up in tin foil shaped like a dragon!
Over all it was a wonderful experience and it was a perfect place to celebrate my son's first quarter of a century in the world!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMDelightful afternoon!Thank you so much Gladstones for a wonderful afternoon overlooking the ocean, enjoying drinks & food with friends. From the moment I arrived the hostess was very friendly & the GM, Tony, was very solicitous as he brought me to my table.
Our servers were all friendly & never made us feel like we had to leave. They were out of the wines we wanted but were wonderful about bringing us tastes of others. The only negative I would say is that they didn't have the New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc we wanted, but they were so accommodating about it, I can't complain.
We all enjoyed our food immensely - the rock shrimp appetizer which was yummy, my friends had burgers which they enjoyed & I had a delicious crab roll.
And, of course, the view...5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMTotally awesomeA little expensive, but worth every penny. Incredible service!4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMLove Gladstones! We love meeting up with our friends at Gladstones and sitting on the patio.
I love to get a caesar topped with blacken Mahi Mahi! It is not on the menu, but it is DELICIOUS! My husband loves the seafood risotto. It doesn't hurt that they have Great Bloody Marys, too!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMMissing serverThe service started out on a positive note, but quickly went downhill. Our server greeted us and brought 2 of our 4 drinks and then disapperared from site.About 10-15 went by when a random hostess came up to ask if our server was missing,we said yes.She indicated that he was sent on a meal break and that others would pull together to get us squared away.It never quite gelled after that. We didn't have one person who we could count on.The food came,it was great! But then the service fell off again. We ordered a piece of cake and 3 coffees and a tea. We got 1 coffee and 1 tea,no plates or forks. After having to repeat our request to 3 separate servers and two managers, finally a manager brought us our coffees, she comped them and gave us a discount4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe outside deck was beingThe outside deck was being refinished and wasn't available for seating. There was a lot of wind, so indoors was preferable, anyway
It was very noisy and a bit difficult to hear in our party of six. Booths are very tight and a bit uncomfortable, Our guests were from
London and they enjoyed it. Food was good, view dramatic and we all had a great time.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a wonderful birthdayWe had a wonderful birthday dinner celebration ... our server was excellent and very attentive. The food was terrific. It was a great evening and we even had our celebration documented by the house photographer. My only complaint was that our table was wobbly - but the server got someone to fix it right away - and we were a bit cramped. Our table was not the best table. I think in the future, I will ask for a booth and/or a table that is not wedged so tightly between the other tables. Also, if it wasn't so cold, I would have preferred to sit outside.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGroup of 8 went, while weGroup of 8 went, while we wanted to sit by the window to see the surf they were unable to accommodate a group of our size so put us as close as possible. Very friendly and prompt with service, made for a great evening.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMA wonderful experince at GladstonesA wonderful experince at Gladstones! Fabulous cocktails and you feel as though you are sitting right on the beach while dining. It is an excellent spot for new comers and those visiting in the area. The seafood was impecible and unique (the spicy tuna is a must-try!). The service was a bit slow, but they made up for it with a giant whale made of our leftover!4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding view and food,Outstanding view and food, Signature Clambake is the way to go!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGladstone's HomecomingMoving back to Los Angeles, Gladstone's was the only place I wanted to meet up with my friends, and they were all happy to meet me there. They came in from Santa Barbara, Ventura, Palm Springs, and one walked over from his house. We had a great table, great ocean view and, of course, fantastic food.
Table favorites were the calamari appetizer, ALL of the vegetables and fish. Mostly, we loved our server Laura who kept smiling and did not complain when we used the end table to play dominoes while we ate. Gold Star goes to the manager who made sure our loaves of bread were sliced. High Five goes to the hostess who was super duper patient with us while we each gave her our opinion of where our table of eight should be.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGladstones is always a greatGladstones is always a great experience. We did however, miss out on our table by the water as we waited for two of our party to arrive.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMLocation location location w a viewGreat for Easter brunch. The service was impeccable although opted to pass on the buffet and ordered off their lunch menu. Food is good although the Seafood Tower looked impressive but left me unsatisfied. Overall it's location location location and of course the incredible view.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMFIRST TIME FOR MY 20 YEARFIRST TIME FOR MY 20 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER. SHE WILL BE BRINGING FRIENDS!!!!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMJohn Manley, Long Beach, CAGladestones is just a gem placed on the shoreline of the Pacific Ocean. Surfers are out at the point where it is located while inside the patrons are treated to some very good seafood and excellent service. We have this restaurant in our sights as a special catch event, a day at the J. Paul Getty Villa or just for the "good of it." Can't beat the beach scene or the very infectious servers as they create a take home package that is like no other restaurant on the coast. Kudos!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGranted it was Easter - butGranted it was Easter - but this isn't about the service (which happened to be terrific) it's about the lackluster food and the over the top prices. We went because of the buffet and no one ended up eating it as it was blah, plain, nothing special. Really disappointing as this is a seafood restaurant and the buffet was $40 (with no drinks). Too bad - love the location, but food, won't be going back.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Burke's Easter Brunch reviewEaster Brunch at Gladstones was a memorable experience
Making reservations on Open Table was the difference between a good experience and a great experience.
Short wait on a day with literally thousands of people, we scored an excellent table with a view of the ocean, as requested in our reservation.
The staff was rocking and rolling keeping up with everyone and everything
We had a great time, enjoyed the food, the service, the view and the ambiance.
The only thing missing was Mel Gibson but maybe we will buy him a drink next time.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding food, the macademiaOutstanding food, the macademia shrimp are a must-try. Great waitress in Titi.
However, we were seated inside near the back, and the baby shower going on in the private dining area disrupted everything. The swinging doors didn't shut, so an arctic gale of hurricane-force winds were constantly disrupting our meal. Eventually some of the staff caught on, but one of them didn't get the hint, and even argued with us about the difficulty of taking cake to the partygoers if he had to close the door.
Titi was nice enough to comp our chowder, and we assumed it was because of the party, but seriously: do something about that door. Just make it open the other direction, even.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMI love the seafood chowderI love the seafood chowder and the flatbread. Staff is friendly and efficient. Great deck right on the beach.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWe're entertaining my motherWe're entertaining my mother this week, showing her all the highlights of the Los Angeles area. Of course, Gladstones was on the list. She loved it. She ordered the clam chowder and blue crab cakes and said they were delicious. My husband enjoyed the fish and chips. I'm a vegan and they made the vegetable flatbread for me. I was delighted; it was scrumptious. The view of the ocean is so relaxing. And, you can take a walk on the beach before or after your meal and dip your toes in the ocean.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat view, great serviceGreat view, great service and great seafood...pretty good combination!3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThe steamed clams were outstanding! The steamed clams were outstanding!
They were ready for us when we got there on a Saturday night, we were seated at a lovely beach view table, inside, 'cause it was a little too chilly to sit outside, overall a very nice experience at one of our fav-spots, of course it's a bit touristy, but that's expected.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGladstones is always reliable.Gladstones is always reliable. Great for entertaining out-of-town guests. Their grilled romaine salad was amazing.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMMust Go Again to Gladstone's!We were given First Class service by our waiter Angel, who was so gracious, helpful and flexible as my wife, my daughter and my 1 year old grandson dined for lunch. Angel really took care of serving our food, our comfort level, and was especially friendly to my grandson which was greatly appreciated. We all enjoyed our dining experience totally, and in every respect. Great seafood deliciously prepared, outstanding dessert. With our Open Table reservation, we were seated promptly upon arrival. We will definitely go back again and soon. Excellent experience right on the Pacific Ocean.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMChoose Gladstones for oneChoose Gladstones for one of the best views in SoCal.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThe view was awesome!
