  • "We ate here before a race the next morning, on the earlier side. The restaurant is quite nice and is very well-decorated. It's not in the nicest part of Atlantic City, but you forget that pretty quickly once inside. The service was very friendly and attentive. Our meals came out quickly and were tasty. We both had some of the pasta made on-site. Overall, it was a very pleasant and enjoyable meal, and I would be happy to recommend it to others."

  • "So many choices, I was delighted, from four different crudo appetizers, uniquely prepared as ultra thin slices of fish, beautiful, great pizzas, fantastic ribeye steak that my husband had, many homemade pastas, gnocchi and red sauce delectable, they also offer a wonderful pri fixe option until seven pm M-F for $31.00. Really worth trying if you like Italian. You can have full dinner or select from many small plate options and Italian. Everything we tried was very good. There is also a bar to order your favorite cocktails and wine and free valet parking at ocean club condos which houses the restaurant."

  • "I had been here before so when my coworkers asked if I could recommend a restaurant - I chose Girasole. They have freshly made in-house pastas which I just can't pass up. Beef and tuna Carpaccio is delicious. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. There is a wide variety of food to choose from. I've dined here with a vegetarian and a gluten free diet and they had no problems finding something they enjoyed. Next time I'm trying the salt crusted fish that they crack open tableside."

  • "Tried restaurant during restaurant week because menu sounded good. Pros: Extensive menu for restaurant week. Great ambience. There was a room set up for a private party that was visible and it looked beautiful - definitely something I would consider for a shower, rehearsal dinner,etc.. Eggplant-zuccini appetizer and veal parm were delicious and good size portions COns: Disliked both desserts. Veal parmigiana didn't come iwth a side. Salmon was just fair. Person who ordered the tuna appetizer didn't like it. Tuna slices were so thin they were translucent and he didn't see them at first & thought he was served the wrong appetizer 5) weren't asked if we wanted coffee/tea. Overall, this wasn't one of our better restaurant experiences"

  • "The great thing about restaurant week is that you can get a feel for a new restaurant and try it without breaking the bank. The food at Girasole was prepared well, however our server was not very knowledge and didn't communicate well. Our entrees did not come with any side dishes and our server did not inform us of that detail. We were offered coffee after our desert plates were cleared. I was not offered a second glass of wine. However my dining partner who was drinking soda was offered several refills and we were charged for each. Not cool. The tables are also very close together. When the server was talking to the table next to us, it was very uncomfortable because his rear was right over our table.I don't think we will be going back."

  • "We've been trying to eat here since last summer when we usually are in the area. Thankfully, we were able to get a reservation this past Saturday. We had a new waitress, with an accent, a little difficult to understand. We ordered cocktails, they did not have what my husband asked for "Jack Daniels Honey", and I asked for a lemon drop martini. My drink was simply a chilled and poured "lemon flavored vodka", not like I've had anywhere else. The meal was excellent, my husband had a wonderful meat sauce served over polenta (sausage, bracciole, meatball) and it was extremely well done. I had osso bucco and it too was excellent, as were the salads and the octopus carpaccio. Overall we would definitely return to this restaurant."

  • "We really enjoyed the service and the atmosphere at Girasole. The wait staff was friendly, prompt, and very helpful. We enjoyed the authentic feel of an Italian restaurant that we got when the wait staff and host staff spoke Italian. Our waiter even served us a free dessert when he found out we were there for a birthday. We chose Girasole because the entrees are significantly cheaper than those in the hotels nearby and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious and authentic. The only downfall is that if you are looking to load up on pasta, this place is not for you. Portion sizes are smaller but don't leave you feeling too full when you leave."

  • "I have been to Girasole many times, and I have never been disappointed. From their creative, fresh cocktails to the wonderful home-made Italian food, dining here is always a pleasure. One of my favorite appetizers of all time is Carpaccio Girasole. It's an amazing blend of warm, rare filet topped with artichoke, asparagus, shaved parmesan and truffle oil. The flavor combination is outstanding; I could eat only this and be satiated! The fresh pastas, risottos, meats and seafood are all noteworthy. Everything is top quality and authentic. This family-owned establishment is the closest you'll get to Italy in Atlantic City!"

  • "I am always a reluctant diner on holidays. The Girasole has cured me of this fear. The atmosphere was great and the waiters could not have been more helpful. The price fixed menu was nice but we chose selections from the regular menu. The salads were great and the octopus carpaccio was even better. The signature salt encrusted Bronzino may have been the finest dish that I have had in south Jersey! I have lived in the area for many years... I have found my new favorite restaurant !"

  • "Made reservations for my birthday and hoping from the reviews that it was as good as it said. I enjoyed everything. As we walked into the restaurant, which starts by the bar, all of the employees warmly welcomed us with either a hello or smile. The wait staff were pleasant and attentive. We are foodies and were not disappointed. The salads were fresh and light, the bread was homemade and lovely, the carpaccio was exquisite and our main courses were full of flavor. All plates were artistically prepared and looked wonderful as they placed them before you. Will definitely come back. Much better than Chef Volas by a long shot!!!!!!!!!!!"

  • "Some restaurants should be avoided on major holidays....not Girasole. They brought their "A" team on New Year's Eve - food could not have been better. Bronzino one of their specialties was part of the fixed price menu and was fabulous. Service was not rushed. Choices were plentiful, portions generous and each superb. I dine here often and have never been disappointed. This is the best Italian restaurant in the shore area."

Our only question is, Why was our early dinner more expensive than the usual prices on the menu since we understood that there was a later in the evening New Year's celebration Price fixe that was less than we paid for our early dinner attendance? We did not address that with our server but pondered it later in the evening. All other aspects of the meal and service were superior. We do hope to return again and are aware of Girasole's price fixe menu during the year."

  • "The service was good. The decor was surprising but cool- more Morrocan than Italian. The food was fine but on the pricey side for what it was. My husband had chicken- small for his appetite but well made. I was given the wrong food and had to wait a little for the correct dish which was extremely hot- including the dish... the food was microwaved. That was disappointing for this caliber of restaurant. There are so many restaurants in AC that we will try somehting else next time."

  • "We've been going to Girasole's for years and this year it wasn't as good. Our pizza was burned, and when we told the waiter, he said that's the way it always is. I ordered a chicken dish that I have always loved and it was kind of tasteless. All in all, everything was okay, but not the quality I have found before."

True to its name, "girasoli" captures the spirit of Tuscany with the entire restaurant artfully decorated with sunflower theme. One of the top non-hotel restuarants in the entire city."

  • "Positives: Food was very good, we were seated quickly, waiter had cool Italian accent, beautiful décor. Negatives: Tables were WAY close together- to the point I could hear the couple next to us and all about their recent vacation. When we got up to leave, I had to shimmy between 2 tables (while apologizing to the diners) The service was lousy. Long wait time for food, gave us oil for our bread- but did not offer any spices to go in it. I was never asked if I wanted fresh parm on my pasta dish, however the people next to us were offered on theirs. Oh- and I had to pour our own bottle of wine, since the waiter never came back. Price was decent, but I prob would not go back again with so many other choices in AC"

  • "This is the third time at Girasole for us. We like it so much that we keep coming back. Had the branzino for the first time, which is a signature dish. It is sea bass cooked in a salt shell which is cracked open table side and filleted. The cost is $35. It is excellent but the meal includes nothing else, just the fish. I am not sure I would order this again. I love their homemade pasta and for the price I would have preferred it. So next time I will get the ravioli verde. It is so good and the cheese is so creamy inside the ravioli. With a glass of chianti, you will think you are in Italian heaven."
