This was excellent! The waiter was knowledgeable and helped with choices. It is caual, yet the food is excellent. Great wine list too.

Great service and sommelier at Giovane! This was a last minute find on Valentine's Day and we couldn't have been more pleased. Tomato salad and the fermier's plate were divine. We'd go back in a heartbeat.

Your dineout menu was such an unexpected surprise! The caprese salad and pappardelle was excellent and I felt like I was back in Italy. I frequently go for lunch at Giovane but now I will definitely be coming back more often for dinner and dessert as well :)

  • Had the Dine Out menu - caprese

Had the Dine Out menu - caprese salad (very fresh and tasty), italian sausage pappardelle pasta (very good and fresh) and tiramisu (a classic). Excellent value for the money $18 for 3 courses. Casual atmosphere like a coffee bar. Okay for a casual dinner but best for weekday lunch. Next to the lobby lounge which can be quite noisy with the live band.

I would definitely recommend this restaurant. My girlfriend and I went there for her birthday, and several staff members took time to wish her happy birthday and the manager (after taking 5 minutes to give us an unpretentious and entertainingly informative discussion about the wines in each of our wine flights), gave us a glass each of the Chardonnay that we liked so much, and said it was on the house. The food was just as delightful - flavourful and artistic with appropriate portions and a pleasing presentation. Highly recommend!

We went during Dine Out special time. The bar was understaffed and the food was okay but nothing special. I think for a quiet dinner in your hotel it is fine but otherwise not really worth a visit

  • Vancouver's best kept secret
    OpenTable Diner Since 2008
    Dined on 1/23/2013
Giovane is one of Vancouver's best kept secrets - the food is fabulous and plentiful, the wine list is great (heavy to the Italians), and sommelier Jill Spoor makes it an experience to remember. Giovane has the best charcuterie plate in the city, and the accompanying wine flights are great value. Let Jill choose your food and wine - she won't steer you wrong.

  • We enjoyed the paired wine

We enjoyed the paired wine flight with our dine-out set menu and everything was very tasty. The $18 appetizer/entree/desert menu was well worth the cost, while the 3 2-ounce pours for the same price was a bit steep. I find the layout and seating a bit bizarre as the place triples as a cafe, restaurant and wine bar.

Simple but delicious meal in a modern cafe. Very friendly and professional staff. The wine list was little pricey but the food was reasonably priced. I would go back again.

We found the area quiet and good to carry a conversation. The service was attentive and the sommelier was very helpful. The food was delicious and portions were ample. We would be returning again.

  • Amazing!

Giovane wine bar is one of the cities best kept secrets. It is so refreshing to go out for an amazing culinary experience outside of the predictable Yaletown or Gastown scenes. Not only is Giovane in a wonderful and beautiful location it is also host to some of the best and most true to form Italian you can find locally. Their wine list is second to none and surprisingly not out of reach expensive while still offering something for everyone. The staff is very knowledgeable while still being extremely friendly, kind and approachable. I felt every question we had about the menu was answered accurately and without hesitation. We were at Giovane to celebrate a special occasion and every step was taken to ensure we had an amazing time. No deta
