Service from front door reception through dessert was flawless. My cosmos was cold & filled to the top of my glass. My guests raved about their wine selections Beet salad was light & delicious. Bass dish was delicate, fresh, mashed potatoes were the perfect accompaniment. My guest loved her pasta special plate & it looked as if there was enough for 2 or 1 very hungry man :~) She ate it all .We didn't have dessert, but the cappuccino was good. Our waiter was excellent - he made food and wine recommendations and was very attentive. I highly recommend the clam chowder special, veal milanese, and grouper - they were delicious! We went for an early dinner, so it was fairly quiet, but started to get pretty busy as it got later. We got a nice corner table and had a very romantic evening. We got Friday night reservations on open table two hours beforehand with no problem. I based the choice on yelp reviews which were all good. We were greeted and swiftly sat. The waiter was attentive without hovering. The food was delicious. I had the lobster macaroni and cheese and my husband had the penne bolognese and both were excellent. It was a special dinner for a group of nine velebrating the recent graduation on a Tuesday weeknight at 730. I made the last minute resi a week before with no problems. We ended up having an additional guest and the staff was quickly able to accomodate. The restraunt itself is very romantic& dimly lit, We did have an issue with the lighting and asked for some additional candles. We were given 3 small hand lights which helped & allowed us to navigate the menu. The food is delightful &was a great choice bc I had so many people with diff food allergies. (gluten,fish, etc) So there is something for everyone. However, in this case it appears to be delightfully true!! We really enjoyed the ability to taste the "food" itself versus digging through a sauce used to hide sub quality ingredients. The service was very attentive and the food was delicious. Between us, we ordered the sea scallops, burger, seared salmon, duck and chicken dishes and everyone loved their meal. very welcoming. Looks as if they've "spruced up" a bit, and the restaurant maintains its charm and ambiance.
Still a bit noisy, however, but it WAS a Saturday night, and got very crowded during our stay.
Pricier than before, but well worth it!

It's small but has the essence of a "hot spot" but lucky for me, is somehow kept under the radar. The food is excellent, every time. Service can be so so on occasion but overall the waitstaff is very attentive and nice. This past time things moved a little slower than normal but hey, sometimes we all just need to slow down right? It was really loud and on the small side but the food was very very good. It's the kind of food that everyone is familiar with but the ingredients we excellent and the execution was well done. There's nothing super different here but if you're looking for solid american fare and somewhere nice to take someone who's not so open minded with their food--this is a good choice. The service was really flawless. Their host was extraordinarily accommodating and ran a very smooth operation on the floor. Our server was pretty good too. We ordered the mozzarella as an appetizer and the veal milanese and the spicy tuna as entrees - delicious! I would have given the food a higher score if our dessert were better. We ordered the apple tart, which was warm (not hot) and was just ok (not bad, but not great). The restaurant was having a private party at the bar, so it was pretty crowded and busy, but it did not affect the service.
