  • "Their restaurant week lunch menu was awesome!! Worth every penny. Their smores breading pudding, however, tasted more like chocolate pudding."

  • "Just off 5th, this local place is a good find and consistent food and service. All my visits have exceeded my expectations. Specials and Rest Week lunch was great!"

  • "Tried this place for lunch during restaurant week. The service and food where exceptional. The place was small and intimate. The wine paring was very reasonable. Will be going back again."

  • "We were so pleasantly surprised with our Restaurant Week 3 course meal. The steak was absolutely delicious and tender coupled with the carmelized shallots...oh boy, I could eat it again right now. The desert was outrageously delicious and such a large portion. Our waitress was extremely well versed on the menu and helpful!"

  • "We found this place through restaurant week and it was great but only one complaint - the couple tables (seating for 2) are literally on top of each other. I went with my sister and no joke, the table next to us was 2 inches apart from ours which makes having a private conversation virtually impossible. Everything else was awesome."

  • "Have been dining in & using Giorgio's for catering for over 10 years w/ great satisfaction in both areas. This is a restaurant I heartily reccommend to everyone who likes good hearty food, a pleasant atmosphere & attentive friendly service, all at a reasonable price. Giorgio's offers something for almost everyone. While their speciality is excellent pasta, they also offer a acomplete variety of meat & fish dishes all handled with equal integrity. I had regularly used Giorgio's to cater corporate events to the delight of some very picky eaters. They continue to please so I expect to be dining there for years to come. Only negative: wish they offered more variety in desserts."

  • "We started coming 2 years ago and have been please with the overall experience. Service is great. Food is very good nothing too fancy but the quality is good. Not a "want to be seen" trendy restaurant which we prefers, we come here for nice meal and the great service."

  • "We picked this address by crossing different review and website and I can say this was one my best Italian I ever had. (I'm from europe) For the starter we picked antipasti plate recently introduce with every product perfectly selected (old parmigiano, 2 sorts of salami, prosciutto, olives, papricorn, fennel truffle...) That day, the chief also put on the menu a new recipe of his Risotto... Umm how to descriebe it? Amazing, GO and try by yourself :) I took a glass of a delicious Montelpuciano which was a perfect fit with these dishes. At the end we asked to meet with the chief to congratulate for our overall experience. I do hope for those of you who read this article that both plates will stay on the menu (this was mid July)"

  • "I brought my relatives from out of town here as a last minute plan to share dinner. We all have great taste so I was pleased when everyone was impressed with their food. We tasted each other's dish and was consistently impressed. The fried oysters with cream spinach, the mac & cheese w/Lobster, the ribeye and the caramelized scallops - ALL YUM! Service was great. The lighting was a bit dimmer than usual, so people used their cell phone lights to read the menus, but the food made up for that. The dessert that many rave about is S'more Bread Pudding. I do no like bread pudding but this tricked my taste buds with the rich chocolate. It actually tasted just like a really good s'more. I will definitely go back to enjoy more options on the menu."

  • "We went to Giorgio's with a group of out of town business guests and had a wonderful time. Eveyone chose a different entree--a couple fish, some pasta--and everyone raved about their choice. Service was attentive but not intrusive. The background music added to the atmosphere--we could hear it without the music interfering with our lively converstaion."

  • "While my motivation for choosing Giorgio's of Gramercy was proximity to a client and the consideration was more a business meeting than the cuisine, I am confident my first visit will lead to others. The space was informally elegant. The food (Caesar salad and a penne pasta) had a fine presentation and was simple yet delicious. Ambient noise was for the most part non-existent allowing uninterrupted communication for the solid 90 minutes. I'll be back soon."

  • "We've been to this restaurant before and decided to come back with our friends to celebrate a birthday and anniversary. Our food came out cold and the steak was fatty. I don't know if the kitchen was overwhelmed because there were 2 huge tables of patrons. The noise level was intolerable. Very disappointed."

  • "We have come here for two date nights so far. The first time, they sat us up front by the window on the couch and it was honestly the best table in the whole place. We loved the ambience there so much that when I set my reservation for this past Friday, I requested the same table. They happily obliged my request and that set us up for another incredible time. The wine is excellent, enough so that you feel a great buzz and bop around to the great Jackie Wilson Pandora station they have playing while you dine. The food is always great and the service very attentive. Would highly suggest to anyone looking for a fun/romantic/friendly place for great food and a great date."

  • "This place is solid and we had 8 of us that went to dinner on a Friday night. We needed something last minute and this was one of the reservations available in the area. Honestly we were pleasantly surprised, for appetizers we did an array of things like the burrata, the carpaccio, and the frito misto. The misto was a ton of food and was a really good deal for $13-14. For entrees we went with steaks, lamb, and pork chops and no one was complaining so it was good stuff. The servers are friendly and fun and were quick to bring us drinks. The place is set up as a date place with a romantic dim ambiance. I would recommend this place if you are in a jam but there are better places in the area, overall though a good experience."

  • "Had a great experience at this restaurant. If I could change one thing, it would be to lower the bottle prices and/or add some bottles in the $30 - $45 price range."

  • "Giorgio's is an excellent restaurant that still maintains something of a "neighborhood gem" quality--not at all forbidding, just a bit hectic (so, not overly formal or self-important), friendly. The food is outstanding (and the portions are big). The drinks are good, wine and beer choices interesting and excellent. People seem to be having a good time, dress pretty well in many cases--rather festive. This is one of our foremost "go-to" restaurants..."

  • "Had a business dinner with a friend in from Indianapolis, selected the restaurant using the OpenTable recommendations. Very good experience, excellent food with a nice ambience and timely service. Nothing not to like, an excellent dining locale. Waitress recommendations for dinner were spot on, nice selection of wine by the glass and the chocolate bread pudding for desert rocked. Is that enough?"

  • "Simply delicious! Ordered the fish special and it was cooked to perfection. as were all the other dishes we ordered."

  • "Good food, good service. Sometimes I would get the feeling they were trying to turn the tables. Food came out very fast. We tried the $45 fixed menu with wine pairing. All food was nicely presented and had good flavoring. They provided three 2 ounce glasses of wine with the meal. Dessert was pretty limited."

  • "AMAZING! I took my girlfriend here for her birthday and we couldn't have been happier. Our waiter (James) recommended a fantastic bottle of Spanish wine. I got the baked oysters and my girlfriend had the buratta. Both were phenomenal. And then, as a surprise, our waiter sent us the veal bolognese half-portion to try (my girlfriend had been deciding between the buratta and the pasta--so we got both!). For entrees, my girlfriend had the veal milanese and I got the seared Pork Chop with sweet potato-pork belly hash, broccoli rabe, and adobo. Both entrees were mouth watering. The service was truly impecable. James won us over with his knowledge of wine, excellent food recommendations and friendly aplomb. We cannot wait to go back to Giorgio's!"

  • "Our waiter, Josh, was exceptional. Attentive but not overbearing. Spot on recommendations re: the menu. Recommend the scallops entree. My son had the salmon entree and liked it very much. Little touches were nice, like water glass kept full, empty bread basket replaced with a full one, napkin folded when one guest left the table for a moment. Giorgio's is a nice neighborhood gem."

  • "Having stayed in this neighbourhood for many years - not sure how I missed this little place. Its has a great ambience, is a little crowded but a good menu, nice small winelist and attentive service. Thoroughly recommended for a great dining experience"

  • "My daughter recently moved to NY, neither of us has a lot NY experience, so I picked this restaurant by the neighborhood on Open Table. First, service/hospitality were totally outstanding. My daughter was caught in a traffic jam and was over a half hour late but they managed to keep a place for us. Second, a terrific wine list. James, the wine steward had put together an eclectic, interesting list that provides choices throughout the price range and even a good number of half bottles. The menu is interesting and everything we had was well executed--Tuscan bean soup and raw oysters (well shucked) for appetizers, lobster pasta and an excellent rack of lamb for main courses. Only minor negative was the tiramisu being quite "heavy". "

  • "I have been to this restaurant three times and have never been disappointed. Small tables and tight spaces...but they make it all up with such an excellent service. Food has always been delicious. Great place to take your first date out to. "

  • "A go-to place . Quality, charm. Somehow feels like the kind of classic NYC restaurant one imagines but is so often no longer around. Not heavy as the old-school Italians, but not boringly trendoid, either. I'm a vegetarian and the waiter was immediately helpful/knowledgeable about menu items that were easily adaptable. What's more, after placing our orders, he returned with message from the chef who offered to customise my dish with other ingreduients for me. My out-of-town guest had a great half bottle of Chateau Neuf de Pape. "

  • "The bar scene is getting a bit louder and younger, but that adds a certain celebratory atmosphere - Since my friend and I were celebrating birthdays, we didn't mind too much. The food was great. Loved our service - and our server."

  • "James our waiter was exceptional. He made sure that we felt treasured as patrons! It was one of the best experiences I have ever had the pleasure in a restaurant. The meal was sublime as a result of his keen attention to our palates and dietary needs. The manager was engaging and hands on as well. Notable and a must try is the roasted oysters with truffle and shallot butter! "

  • "My wife and I have dined at Giorgio's before, but we hadn't come in a while. We will definitely come back more often. Our reservation was honored exactly as booked. Our waiter, James, was attentive without hovering, and made excellent suggestions when we asked about dishes we were comparing. We split the 3 course prix fixe plus one entree. All was prepared as requested. The beef was flavorful, and the potatoes slightly crispy, even in the accompanying sauce. Pasta with lobster/shrimp had good chunks of lobster. The artichoke appetizer with shrimp combines good flavors and textures. We loved the pistacchio creme brulee. The bread pudding is also excellent, but you need to save room for it. James' great service made it all a great experience."
