7pm reservation reservation for 3. Were seated promptly. The menu is primarily Italian, but one could order on the lighter side with fish, salads, etc. The food was great -- my colleagues had the branzini and I had the massive veal chop parmesan -- only order if you're really hungry, it's a lot of food. Dessert was a very good tiramasu. Nice wine list including half bottles which really makes sense. For NYC, the price of dinner with wine was very reasonable. A couple of minor quibbles -- the space is awkwardly configured and a little tight; service was friendly and informed but a little scattered. We enjoyed our meal, and I definitely will return.

I had a foodie friend in town and the three of us had a wonderful lunch, great service and charming decor. What more could one ask for? We had the prix fixe - each course delicious and some extras along with it to get a real feeling for the place. Every single thing we ordered was truly delicious and to boot with the prix fixe, they allowed a substitute of half an order of pasta instead of the polenta.Divine!

Girgio's of Gramercy is terrific. We have now been there three times and loved it each time. The menu is varied and interesting and everything that we have ordered has been prepared perfectly and was delicious. Be certain to make a reservation. First time we stopped in, we didn't have a reservation and had to wait 1 hour and 20 minutes for a table. As it turned out, it really was worth the wait but now we always make reservations.

We arrived 6 minutes late for our 8pm reservation, and as a result, it took half an hour to seat us. The upside was that the host, Alex, did everything he could to try to make up for it. First he gave us two table options, then checked up on us after we ordered our appetizers, then gave us free wine pairings for our entrees, then checked up on us again. Roasted oysters: A+. No further comment. Just go for it. Adobo pork chop: Not a huge pork chop person (bf ordered this), but it was an excellent chop, and the sauce was well-balanced. Tuna with soba: kind of like an Asian spaghetti and meatballs. Tuna was appropriately raw in the middle, black sesame provided a nice kick, tomato sauce was good...no regrets We'll come back for dessert.

This was my first time at the restaurant. I dined with two other colleagues and I was pleased with the overall experience. That said, there was nothing extraordinary or special about the place that would merit a consistent four star or a five star rating. The restaurant was better than "good" but certainly not excellent. Recommendable is the veal chop. The pasta appetizer I had appeared and tasted re-heated--this is an absolute "NO-NO" for pasta. Other than the pasta, I can not point to any egregious flaws.

Service was great. There was surpringly few clients in the restaurant given the number of good reviews. We were given a lot of attention of service. The food was delicious. The ambience is intimate and private. The food portion is perfect and the price reasonable. Really nothing to complain. It's an excellent choice for a place for a quiet dinner.

Being new to the city we were meeting friends after dinner in a bar nearby. That's why we checked an hour before dinner where to go. Based on other people's reviews decided to go for Giorgio's - and were not at all disappointed. Great waiter who explained the menue and day's specials, nice athmosphere and delicious food. Can recommend the roasted oysters and the scallops, comes great with a white wine. Even with the many options the city offers, seriously considering to return.

My Wife and I Dine at Giorgio's a couple of times a year. I work in the hospitality training field so I can't help but notice everything. Bottom line at Giorgio's of Gramercy is the service, food, and drinks exceed expectations every single time. And the place is incredibly romantic. It's truly one of the hidden gem's of the NYC restaurant world. I've had MANY of the entrees, starter's, and deserts... they are all prepared perfectly... but the one thing to know about this place is they have the very best Burger in the entire city. Grass fed beef, aged gruyere, bacon, braised onions, and truffle fries. Just go. Then go again. You'll never be disappointed.

We waited over 15 min before we placed our order or received any bread. My wine arrived with a large piece of cork floating in the glass - took 10 min to get a new glass. Then our coffee just never came. The wait staff was doing the best they could while clearly understaffed. They did give us a free dessert as an apology which I did appreciate. Also, Tables very close together and loud. The food was very good but everything else took away from it.

We arrived on time for an 8:30 reservation and they were not ready for us. The restaurant was not crowded. We got a lot of strange attitude from the host who acted like we were asking for something special (a table?). The table they gave us was OK. It was directly across from the kitchen door so I watched people go in and out all night. I would have preferred a more private space since it was my birthday and a big one at that. Food was good and well priced. I wasn't blown away.

Our party of four really liked Giorgio's. However given the rave reviews from others, we expected to love it more and expected it to be more crowded (it is a small space, and was only half full on a Saturday night). The decor is chic and the layout of the tables is cozy. Despite beging seated right by the curtains that led to the kitchen, we had no issue with noise or traffic. All of us enjoyed our food except my friend, whose steak was overcooked and chewy. My sea bass was delicious. S'mores bread pudding is good but not as decadent as it sounds. The cocktail menu is creative but beware the Detroit red which is described as "spicy sweet" is like drinking jalapeno pepper juice from a jar. Service was friendly and accomodating but a bit slow.

Were it not for the Living Social coupon (beacuse there are just so many great places in NYC), we never would have found this place. It is out of our neighborhood and not where we would normally dine... geography-wise. The food was tasty, well presented and delicious. We had the tuna steak and scallops with the brussel sprout side order. The giorgio antipasto started our meal... it was for one, with plenty of food.. we were two, and it was a lot of food. Thank you for giving us a new place to dine!

So much about this restaurant is commendable, the food, the service, the decor....we would certainly go back again. However, two negatives....lively conversation all around and there was no need for the background music that encouraged folks to talk louder to be heard. And, on a personal note, we two couples were celebrating milestone anniversaries, notified the restaurant in advance and were disappointed that no one came our table with acknowledgement of the event.

Stumbled into Giorgio's on Saturday night looking for something off the beaten path in the neighborhood. Had not been there in 10 years abut always remembered it being solid and low key. The place was packed, which is always a good sign. The menu seemed to be very overdone - nothing simple or clean and everything had about three too many ingredients. All of our salads came drenched in very strong dressing. For entrees, a friend and I both ended up with the fish special but asked them to leave everything off, remove the fried sides and do this fish over veggies - the dishes were delicious. Fish cooked perfectly as were the vegetables. Service was attentive and they were very eager to accommodate our special requests.

Maybe it was because we were there for restaurant week, but the portions were extremely small. We ordered the kale salad and got probably 1.5 cups worth of food. I can't imagine the ingredients were that expensive, and we were really surprised. The service was also very slow, which we don't really mind, but for some people that is a real problem. The restaurant itself was cute but very crowded and extremely loud. Not the best acoustics for a restaurant. Overall it was pretty good, but I don't think I will go back.
