GingerAmazing experience!My husband and I had dinner there for our 5th anniversary. Gina was our server. The staff there is incredible. You just can't find service like that anymore. They were very attentive, yet didn't hover. We didn't wait long for a thing. They made suggestions on drinks and food based on our likes/dislikes. The ambiance is just what you would want for a romantic dinner, i.e. low-light, soft music, personalized service. The food was amazing, both in taste & presentation. I had filet mignon that was cooked perfectly. They even decorated our dessert plate to say 'Happy Anniversary'. Overall a fantastic experience, and it was our second time! Both were equally great. The staff was very nice and very helpful, especially our waiter. We never had to wait for anything yet no one hovered at our table either. The soup was excellent. The server immediately asked if we were going to "the show" so she could gauge our meal appropriately. I was impressed that she stayed up on the events so she knew what was happening. We had the lettuce wraps for an appetizer - delightful and enough for the three of us. We each had a different ginger-themed drink and all three were lovely. The Ginger Mojito was the best. For dinner, they were able to accommodate my friend on the spiciness level of the dish. My steak was cooked perfectly and the flavor was perfect. I was slightly disappointed that they ran out of ahi tuna appetizers (considering the ahi tuna entree I got instead cost me an extra $16), but it was delicious. And I also tried the banana lemongrass soup, which is probably one my new favorite dishes. As an amateur chef and Foodie, I am sometimes disappointed when I dine out because I feel like I could have made better food at home. Never felt this way after eating at Ginger. Their Tuna Tower, Scallop Mac and Cheese, Broccoli Beef and Ribeye are always fantastic. I like their Retro/unique bar selections...try the Blue Ricky!
This visit was for Mother's Day, so we brought the kids. The waitress was very accommodating to the picky eaters and helped customize their entrees to suit their likes/dislikes.

Our server addressed us by name throughout our meal which was a nice change from most places in Anchorage. The spicy tuna tower was a nice light appetizer. The zing ribs were done perfectly. The meat fell off the bone and were flavored so well. The broccoli beef was a stand out dish. If your looking for a steak that's done right, they hit medium-rare on the dot. Ginger has a nice cocktail menu to go with dinner and great dessert drinks as well. The food is usually in the great-outstanding category but this time it didn't quite make it. I ordered the Thai shrimp soup, which i have had before. It tasted great but in my big bowl of soup (which is on the entree menu, not an appetizer) there was only one shrimp, kind of disappointing. I was on a nice date with my husband and was enjoying just spending time with him so I didn't want to complain. Our server was very kind and attentive, he suggested trying the house brewed ginger ale - it was delicious!
