As one of the best kept secrets in New York City, Gigino at Wagner Park offers a spectacular view of Lady Liberty and the New York Harbor. Owners Bob Giraldi and Phil Suarez along with executive chef Luigi Celentano, have taken great pride in bringing Italian cuisine to Battery Park City for over five years. Nestled between the Ritz Carlton and the Statue of Liberty, Gigino can be found just a few steps south of The Jewish Heritage Museum. Diner Reviews
  • "Food was very good and service was excellent. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate.....the dark/gray/foggy night hampered what would've been a nice scenic view of the lower Hudson and Statue of Liberty."

  • "Food was quite good but the service was lacking. Took forever to get a cup of coffee. Seems there was poor communication between wait staff."

  • "Even though it was a dreary night, the view out to the Ststue of Liberty was outstanding. The menu was varied and the food was fresh and well prepared. We were a bit disappointed in the service. It seemed a bit understaffed. The two waiters were not very responsive. The bread took a long time at the beginning and it was hard to get their attention at the end of the meal."

  • "The food was good, especially the grilled calamari. Prices were reasonable. Sunset was off the charts, especially since at this time of year, one can watch it right through the window. Ambience was very blah, service quite attentive."

  • "We dined here the end of February, food was very good the tiramisu dessert was the best I had ever had,the view overlooking the Statue of Liberty at night was great and the ambience in the restaurant was nice and romantic."

  • "Small but elegant restaurant with beautiful views. There was an outdoor dining area that is perfect for the warmer weather. We had some initial trouble finding it but well worth the look. The staff was warm and friendly and the food was superb. We will definitely return."

  • "The reminders of the reservation were a wonderful touch and I looked forward to going immenselly. However we had the hardest time locating the restaurant on foot because of the construction going on near it and the fact that it didn't look like a restaurant but that was ok we eventually found it. Once inside we were treated like royalty the 2-3 men staffed in the restaurant catered to us very well. Excellent service, they continually filled up our water glasses and one even let me charge my phone behind the bar. The food however was disappointing bland and we could barely take 2 bites, the service really saved the experience for us, they were attentive and we had a nice quiet afternoon there"

  • "This was a trip advisor find and it was excellent. After initially not being able to find the restaurant (in the dark) we turned up an hour early because it was cold and they were still able to seat us. The restaurant was very quiet but the views of the statue of Liberty were amazing. The service and food were very good and they catered well for the children. I would love to go back in the summer months when the patio is open because it is lovely overlooking Battery park and Liberty."

  • "Most diners come to Gigino in the good old summer time when tables are set up outside to face New York harbor, while in winter, the restaurant has an entirely different atmopshere. It is small and cozy inside behind big glass windows, and after dark the view is of twinkling lights from the passing ferries, barges, tugs and cargo ships. As it is located within an arch at Wagner Park, it is off the map for most people, and not frequented by the casual passerby. I love the five ways that mussels are served and my favorite main course is sausage and veal in a cream sauce."

  • "Service was great...was there with an out of town friend and they gave us a table with a beautiful view. Food was excellent. Would like to go back in the summer and sit outside!"

  • "My wife and I ate lunch there this past Saturday, Nov 2nd, and the weather was perfect so we sat outdoors. The first thing you notice when you step outside is the incredible view of Lady Liberty. Even though it is 2 miles away it looks like you can still touch it. We shared a bottle of pinot noir and had various salad, soup, chicken and salmon selections off of the prix fixe menu. Everything was delectable and I'm sure the other patrons became tired of seeing us feed each other since we wanted the other to experience the same tastes. The confusing part about New York is that a 4-Star restaurant like this, in my hometown of restaurant-packed Austin, would be a 5- Stars. Thank you Gigino's for a memorable dining experience."

  • "Pastas are quite nice, in an area that has very few decent dining options. But what really makes Gigino's special are the sweeping river views."

  • "This was our second time to Giginos. We took advantage of the view and sat outside. It was fantastic. Service was terrific, very personable. Will definitely return again and recommend to friends. We had two babies in strollers and the outdoor seating was perfect...roomy and not intrusive for any other diners. Great overall."

  • "Great outdoor setting over looking the Hudson River and Statue of Liberty monument. The food was ok. The waiter was very disconnected when it came to service. Maybe due to too many tables to wait on. Overall experience was just ok. The outdoor setting is one that can't be replaced."

  • "If the weather cooperates, the view of New York's harbor from an outdoor table at Gigino at Wagner Park is outstanding. The restaurant's food, mostly Italian, is never less than good, but it also never trumps the view of boats, bridges, seagulls, and the Statue of Liberty."

  • "Gigino's location is excellent – on the waterfront in lower Manhattan with a view of Lady Liberty and the passing boats. The weather was perfect so that added to the ambience of the outdoor seating. The staff is very attentive without being overbearing and we were not rushed. Our dinners were delicious, one pasta entrée and one seafood. The Caesar salad differs nicely from the usual at most restaurants – we shared a plentiful offering. I wish we had time for dessert – next visit, for sure."
