Gigino at Wagner ParkFirst warm night of spring...... and Gigino was the place to be to watch the sunset, and the kids play on the lawn (just far enough away to be interesting). Service was good, even though the tables were crowded next to one another - not a lot of space except for those lucky few at the view-end of a row. Food was very good, not exceptional, but the evening was magical nonetheless.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was excellent and serviceFood was excellent and service was good. We went there for a business lunch on a rainy foggy day, and still had a good view. It was slow because of the weather so your experience could be different on a busier day. This is a very good place to go if you are on business at BPC and want to go just a little "off campus". I would very much recommend this restaurant.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing viewsAmazing views. Best views to statue of Liberty. Food is tasty but portions are very small by American standards.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWarming supper Sun and a niceWarming supper Sun and a nice Merlot dress the Statue of Liberty in a dark dress until sunset when she puts on her green one and lights the flame, long after the chef's has already gilded diners' tummies with tasty outdoor breezy Italian flavors. There's nothing like a bit of olive oil and Italian bread to whet your appetite while you gleefully celebrate your luck at finding this outdoor gem.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for a light lunchThe location is a little hard to find, but completely worth the search. The portions are decent, not too much or too little, and the food is delicious. The service was good. I had reserved a table for 4, but at the last minute another friend joined, The staff accommodated us with a table for 5 with no problem....The view is beautiful! Just be sure to ask to reserve a table outside with a great view of Lady Liberty.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMOrange you glad you tried it? YES.I am not a foodie by any means... but in my novice perspective:
Amazing view of the harbor/Statue/lower Battery Park... it's like you're in the middle of one of the busiest cities and then have this private outdoor dining experience tucked away from the world...
I had the Gamberoni Positano (shrimp risotto with ginger carrot sauce)... absolutely amazing. Probably the best meal I've had in minimally months... There is something to be said for the fact I literally savored the whole thing (as I normally eat like I am fending off football players for limited quantities of food).
I cannot wait to come back on another warm night, watch the sunset and order exactly the same thing!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGigino was wonderful. TheGigino was wonderful. The food was excellent and the view spectacular. We were sitted outside but at this time of the year they should really invest in some heaters. Got ratherchilly and breezy and the food cooled down in a hurry. I would definitely recommend andmake a return visit.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWorth Finding!Gignio's reminds me of a special European bistro. Even if you can't see the view, it's there. The food is gorgeously seasoned, appropriately sized, and the service makes you feel like a guest, not a customer. Four of us lingered and we were not rushed. One table next Tony's had a family, another a family celebration and we were out if town adults in search of ambiance, great food, and an experience to remember. We got it. Tricky to find, arrive early. It's in a brick, two story building that looks like a public place at which to watch sunsets and the Statue of Liberty. The sign is discreet, on a door in the lower left. Across from the Ritz Carleton, Gignio'is is tucked into this small brick building right next to the water.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat viewAmazing location looking out to statue of liberty. If you have reservations, it helps in getting a table with a view. It is a little overpriced, but you are in NYC and the food is very good. The only downside is that it takes a long time for them to serve the food.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AM
