  • "Although i've been to GIBSONS many times and was satisfied. Not overwhelmed, just satisfied. This time the food just wasn't what it usually is, maybe the kitchen was just having an off night. Someone in their kitchen really needs to learn how to make risotto. And when a restaurant has a $136 entree on the menu, they should supply their patrons with butter knives. When i asked for one, our waiter told us they don't have butter knives - very strange. it will be a long time before I return... Happy Eating!!"

  • "NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL! WAS EXPECTING MUCH BETTER FOR THE PRICE. WAS SEATED AT A SMALL TABLE, AS SOON AS WE SAT DOWN THE WAITRESS ASKED US IF WE WANTED A DRINK BEFORE EVEN GIVING US A CHANCE AT THE DRINK MENU. MY FILET ORDERED MEDIUM RARE CAME WELL DONE. THE MANAGER PROCEEDED TO CLOSE THE BLINDS SO MY STEAK WOULD NOT LOOK WELL DONE, I SAID IT'S STILL OVERCOOKED. HE GOT ME AT NEW ONE QUICKLY THOUGH. MY HUSBAND HAD THE BONE IN RIB EYE, IT WAS ALSO A LITTLE OVERCOOKED AND JUST OK. FOR $126 I SHOULD HAVE BEEN THRILLED BUT DEFINITELY WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED!! OUR DAUGHTER BOUGHT US A GIFT CERTIFICATE FOR US TO ENJOY A GREAT MEAL AND I FEEL SORRY TO DISAPPOINT HER WITH OUR EXPERIENCE."

  • "This was my Wife birthday that I set up the reservation a week in advance. When we got there they sat us next to the kitchen door. I looked around and there were two booths open and when I asked if we could switch because it was my wife's birthday I was told no. This did hurt the rest of the night as we had to hear the kitchen staff and get bumped into by the wait staff. We love Gibson's but this was not our most memorable time there."

Reguardless if the food was good the noise level alone would stop me fr ever returning. Dress code ? Apparently not. T shirts and shorts were common. Not what I expected for $600 meal. Near again"

We haven't been there in years and we tried to go as conventional as possible… shrimp cocktail appetizer, blue cheese wedge salad, rib eye and fillet mignon with standard sides of creamed spinach and double baked potato. The service was impeccable and the food was top notch. The steaks were done perfectly at medium rare with a delicious seared crust. If you want great service and a top notch steakhouse, Gibson's is your place"

  • "The Salads were tasteful and very fresh, The Seared Ahi Tuna appetizer- Wonderfully prepared, The Pork Chops/applesauce- A crowd pleaser, Asparagus- Perfect A+, The Seared Ahi Tuna entree was abundant as were the Grilled Shrimp Platter, Dessert- I do recomend the Apple Tostada ! The only detractor was "I" should have requested a booth with my reservation, Only 1 bumping incident where the waiter profusely apologized, This is a spot for the movers and shakers to hit, A 4 course meal bumped $175, but well worth it. tipped to $210, all in all a great evening with portions to take home, My Greatest regards to the Cook Staff and Chef's. I say a well deserved A+"

  • "This was a special birthday for me - the big 4-0. I decided to celebrate my birthday at Gibson's steakhouse. I was there back in January 2014 for a work dinner and it was really great. I am a foodie and loved everything that was served and the service was the Platinum standard. For my birthday the service and food seemed even more exceptional: generous portions, tasty delicious food, exquisite service. The best part was the dessert: I did not know that for a birthday they give a 1/4 carrot cake the size of a mother lode. Three huge layers covered with the most amazing cream cheese frosting! All I can say is... YUMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!"

  • "When this location opened, the food and wait staff were fantastic. This visit we ordered prime rib and london broil. The prime rib was tough and bland and the london broil was tough and dry. To make it worse, the steak knives were dull. Also,the last two times we have been there for dinner,we were rushed to finish our meal. This time everything came out quickly, no time to enjoy a glass of wine before the appetizer showed up. Nor were we asked if we wanted another glass of wine with our meal. Because it was a birthday celebration, they brought us ice cream sundaes and gave a very loud "football shout out" happy birthday, and then asked if we wanted coffee. The bill arrived with the coffee-sending the message,you're finished now leave."

We were greater quickly by Duff who suggested to my date a pear martini which was amazing, his menu knowledge was very helpful. He suggested we order half salads because they are so big and he was right on! I had the Alaskan king crab legs and they were superb for dessert we has the apple pie and it was like homemade! We will be back soon."

  • "Had the best steak at Gibsons in Oakbrook I've ever had in my life! Perfectly cooked, tender and flavorful. We also had delicious scallops, shrimp cocktail, and asparagus, all well seasoned and perfectly cooked. The service is impeccable! Loved all the signed autograph celebrity photos on the wall. The women's bathroom attendant was sweet and attentive and just added to the wonderful experience. This is a great special occasion restaurant to go with your significant other or with a group of family and friends. It is pricey but for the quality of food and service, it's well worth it. Walked out of the restaurant with a big smile on my face. It exceeded our expectations."

  • "I found my dining experience to be in no way proportional to the cost of the dinner. It was my son's birthday and I wanted to treat him to what I hoped would be a really classy experience. When I placed my reservation online, I made sure to mention it was his birthday. However, when my family and I arrived, the hostess's greeting to us was indifferent, to say the least. The server was polite and gave us moderate service. We ordered steak and after waiting a considerable amount of time. I had to send mine back because it was very undercooked. I was not able to enjoy the rest of my meal. The bill, however, suggested that we ate like royalty. I strongly disagree and would hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone."
