The fresh seafood offerings are always great - both my wife and I had the catch of the day offering this past Saturday - simply outstanding! Ossi was our waiter this time, have had him before and he is fantastic! Will definitely visit again!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the best in the area!Always great food and service. Every meal I've had at Gibraltar has been prepared perfectly and the staff is always courteous!5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMNice chats with waiter, waitresWe had a nice dinner with four international colleagues and the personal was very friendly. The waitress (18 year old student) had the same looks as Halle Berry and we had a nice chat with her. The food was great and the wine was good.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat! While spending time in the Amish area, we treated ourselves to an upscale, sophisticated meal at Gibraltar, and we were very pleased with our dinner there.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were high bidders on aWe were high bidders on a 7-course chef's tasting at a local charity event, and used our certificate to celebrate our anniversary. The service and food was excellent. The chef even presented a few courses himself. We had a wonderful, personalized experience that we thoroughly enjoyed. Kudos to the entire staff for a memorable evening!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic restaurant! ExcellentFantastic restaurant! Excellent service, food & overall dining experience. Aa good as any Philadelphia restaurant.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThe grilled King Salmon dishThe grilled King Salmon dish was excellent! This is a good place to have a great lunch!4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMAll that one could askThe occasion was a belated birthday celebration for our thirteen-year-old granddaughter. She always has been a lover of gourmet food, and so Gibraltar was selected on the basis on numerous recommendations from friends. Our dining experience was exceptional. Every item we ordered--appetizers, salads, entrees, and dessert--was elegantly presented and superbly delicious. The service was outstanding--polite, friendly, helpful, and timely. We will definitely return and, in the meantime, recommend it to others as others recommended Gibraltar to us.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a delightful time!We had a delightful time! Delicious food and able to hear one another in conversation which was a pleasure.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMLancaster's best restaurantLancaster's best restaurant without doubt. We have gone to Gibraltar for years now and feel its pull everytime we go to Lancaster from New York. The crab cakes are the best there are - anywhere. The fish is always fresh and exquisite. The ambiance is outstanding - far superior to all other Lancaster restaurants we've been to. The price is a bit high, but you get what you pay for and I'm happy to pay for this quality. We eagerly look forward to going back yet again next time we're in Lancaster.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a great restaurant! What a great restaurant! This was our first time and I was very happy we decided to give it arty. Located on the campus of F&M College, there is plenty of parking and it is so easy to get to. Being on a campus, I thought this was going to be a brew pub kind of place. couldn't be further from the truth. White linen table cloth fine dining experience with a creative menu. Best of both worlds. I had the lobster fettucini, it was incredible! Nice causal bar with a great wine list. Highly recommended, we will be going back soon.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have nothing but wonderfulWe have nothing but wonderful things to say about our experience! Cannot wait to come back.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was excellent overall; The food was excellent overall; however, the salmon was very greasy, masking the full flavor of the salmon. Reasonably sized portions are a welcome change from the mega meals that most places serve.
Prices are bit high.
The water was very attentive.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMWe travel to Lancaster forWe travel to Lancaster for our son's lacrosse games and we always look forward to dining at Gibralter. They never disappoint.
The tuna tartare is wonderful and all of their entrees are really good. The service is outstanding and we never leave disappointed.
I highly recommend Gibralter.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMDutch Country AlternativeIf you are in "Amish Country" but don't care much for the Dutch Country cuisine (or just want a break from it), Lancaster apparently boasts a few dining choices. Gibralter is one of the best. Its location is on a college campus (Franklin and Marshall) which made me expect a "college" eating experience (burgers, pizza, etc.), but Gibralter is nothing of the sort. The decor is modern and inviting and the menu is American classic (my definition). My wife had a turkey club - excellent, and I had the scallop dish - also excellent. Our server was great, directing us away from a choice that we were tempted to make. We went for a mid-week lunch, so the place was fairly deserted, and I suspect that dinner-time and weekends are quite busy.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious W Med. Seafood DinnerThis was a very classy restaurant - the waiters/ waitresses wore bow ties, double table clothes, fancy decanters, end-of-meal hot refreshment towel, etc. Moreover, the food came with as much attention to detail as the decor. While my fiance and I went on Easter (thus, making what I'm about to say somewhat understandable), the menu was rather limited compared to what was offered online - and there was no Tapas menu/bar. Otherwise, I was very impressed. The meal came with olive oil (a delicious kalamata variety) and bread and everything else that I ordered was superb (they nailed the asparagus, duck egg and hollandaise). There is a large selection of seafood dishes with a raw selection - which is the primary menu item and house specialty.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat for special occasions.Wonderful. Delicious food and great atmosphere. My family will go to Gibraltar for all of our special occasions! I took my mother there for her 50th birthday and she was very surprised and happy. After our delicious main course our server suggested some dessert. We were so full we declined and he returned with a happy birthday plate with biscotti and he sang happy birthday with me. It was a great ending to our experience. We'll definitely be back for more!!!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMOur first time to GibraltarOur first time to Gibraltar ... two couples ... lots of great food. Every dish was a winner. And its reputation for great fish is justified. The space itself is airy and modern. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and gave us great recommendations. We'll be back.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food and our serverExcellent food and our server was fantastic. She dealt with the special needs of my elderly parents very well and sped up the service of our food so we could attend our theater show on time. An overall wonderful experience. I would highly recommend Gibraltar.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place for special occasionOysters and Sea Bass were excellent. Service was also very good. Would definatly return.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was very good andThe food was very good and the service outstanding. We had a diner with food sensativities and the waiter went out of his way to have the kitchen make changes to dishes to accommodate us going as far as to make a special salad not on the menu for us. The effort ws greatly appreciated.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat timeEverything was perfect!
