We were there on a Monday and the servers were volunteers & they were outstanding. I'm sure the normal waiters would be just a great. Very cozy; friendly staff & accomodating, great food and wine! Tiramisu was superb as well!!

Gianni Bartoletti has the menu dialed in - what a pleasure. He picks up where Incontro leaves off - - and, he has better service than Incontro (which isn't hard - - but - - Gianni's service is more than adequate. Highly recommend.

This was a fundraiser for an organization I support. The food was very good, the service very good, and the dinner reasonably priced. This restaurant is very favorable for local non-profits to use for fundraising events.

My first visit to Gianni's was on one of their Monday Tips for Change nights. They serve a modified menu served by volunteers for a non-profit and the tips go to the charity. The food was exceptional. We choose basic pasta dishes (ravioli and gnocchi) and desserts (tiramisu and panna cotta). We ran into a San Ramon city councilman who told us that Gianni's is a great place for lunch. We will be back for more "Tips for Change" nights as well as meals from their complete menu.

I've been to Gianni's several times and tried different dishes each time. The food and service is very good. The wait staff is well versed on the menu and can make good recommendations based on your needs. Be prepared for a very noisy environment, it's loud, you will need to shout to hear your dining partner. The biggest problem this establishment has is limited parking. They did have valet but it was full, one of our party had to park two blocks away. No biggie on a warm evening but if it was raining, yikes.

Hats off to Chef, service was very good, small restaurant, noise level was high due to close seating. There was a couple of families in restaurant kids not a good choice unless children are well behaved and parents have taught them to keep their voices down.

It seems the restaurant only does well when Gianni himself is around! Our service was sketchy with the waiter apologizing every time he was late coming to the table (which was literally EVERY TIME we needed anything) instead of being aware and available. The food was tasteless, and lacking for all four of us (we all stayed with the vegetarian/pasta options.) At this point, we are not sure if we will ever go back. Shame, since we really like the owner!

We went to Gianni's for dinner with friends. We were seated right away, cozy atmosphere. Excellent service. Gianni, the owner, came around and greeted the diners and wanted to know what we thought of our meals. The pork tenderloin was very tender and flavorful, as was the short ribs. The fish of the day was tasty too. The roasted beet salad was fresh and delicious. This was our friend's second time to Gianni's and we would all certainly return.

We've been to Gianni's a few times now in the past couple of months and are becoming addicted to the great food, warm atmosphere and just-right service. Pretty much everything we have ordered has been spot-on, well-crafted & delicious. The baby kale salad, the wild arugula salad and the Caesar salad have all been standouts. We've tried the fresh seabass, duck and pork ragout fettucine and left empty plates each time. Can't wait to go back!

We celebrated my wife's birthday per her request and Gianni's never disappoints!! The service was excellent as always, the menu is very strong and the surprise birthday desert was very special. We have dined here many times and we continue to try new menu items and the consistency is why we keep coming back. I'm originally from the East Coast and finding this high quality Italian food on the West Coast is a challenge and Gianni's fits the bill and I highly recommend it whenever you are dining out in the East Bay.

I wrote a news review of this restaurant years ago, not good. Hoped Danville would be great, but it wasn't. Now moving back was better, and all 4 of us enjoyed our food. I had veal scallopini, but it tasted more like veal marsala, the meat was uneven, one side was thicker than other. I don't like stewed tomatoes mixed with green beans, so it would be nicesmall side of pasta with olive oil and garlic or alfredo sauce. The Tanato was great. it reminded me of Spain and my grandma's cooking. The 3 stars was our friend received fish instead of his ordered Veal. The waiter said the fish is good, and I am sure it was but that is not what he ordered. Then another man came over and let our friend keep the fish dish and ordered him the veal.

I first heard of Gianni's in San Ramon when some friends were serving as a fundraiser. I took my son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter just to be supportive. Boy, was I ever impressed! So, this time, I suggested it as my treat for my son's birthday. He was thrilled because they really like this place! Excellent variety of exceptional entrees, salads and desserts ... try Gianni's rendition of his Grandmother's egg-less custard -- yummy!

Service was great, all attentive and helpful. The bread and EVOO are good so don't get full off of them. Salmone and fennel, yum. The braised short rib on polenta was cooked perfect. Side of broccoli rabe with garlic and pepper complimented well. Glass of prosecco. Panna cotta and gelato for dessert with an espresso, excellent dinner.
